CHiRP Coffee — Restaurant in Jefferson

7/23/23. My wife and I each had a Cortado and a Blueberry Scone, costing us $16.91. When the server handed the coffees through the drive-through window, I was so distracted by the dixy-cup sized cups that I forgot to get a receipt. And, while trying to see if these tiny cups could even hold 4 ounces of coffee, I inadvertently spilled some of it on myself!

When I got home, I filled my tiny cup to overflowing and saw that if you fill it to the brim, it does hold 4 oz. The sleezy part is that the server only filled our cups 2/3rds full. So, for the $7.40 we spent, we were each ripped off about a third of what we paid.

We also bought 2 blueberry scones (more like muffin tops) for $8.40.

NOT worth the cost. I called the phone number provided and I left a voice mail but it's 2 days later and nobody returned my call. Go figure...

Good quality coffee, decent food, & friendly staff. However, the mochas (my favorite espresso drink) need some work. Every time I’ve ordered a frozen white chocolate mocha, I’ve either received chocolate or have been told that they can’t do frozen and I must order a holy mocha frappe instead. I don’t want an ice cream substitute in my drink, I just want blended ice. I tried the frappe at their recommendation and I was then charged over 2 dollars to add espresso back into my drink! It ended up costing over $10! I can order a frozen mocha elsewhere for half the price with no “ice cream substitute” in the drink. Just espresso, milk/cream, flavored syrup, & blended ice. Ah yesss, Chirp Coffee… my old gig. Once upon a time I worked behind those beautiful shiny counters, crafting chargers like a true artist and living off caffeine and good company. Those were simpler times. Oh how I miss the smell of espresso in the air, laughter from coworkers, and the occasional spilled milk. My sweet Rachel still works there, carrying on the legacy while I’ve hung up my apron. Truly, I’m quite fond of that place. (Go and try it and if you already have…this is your sign to stop by and treat yourself!) It’s got heart, humor, and memories that I still get off of the smell coffee beans.
