Can't recommend Casa De Oro enough. Local to the area, its hard to find a good Mexican restaurant that ticks off all the boxes. Casa De Oro does so and so much more. Family run with a family friendly atmosphere, you're immediately greeted every time you walk in the door . You'll be hard pressed to find a better welcoming offer of the warm chips, queso, pico, and salsa offered here unless you're in the casa of an abuela. The staff is friendly and attentive, recommend visiting during happy hour between 2 and 5. We've worked our way through most of the menu and can't get enough of the Chili Colorado and the Camarones de Casa De Oro. Any dishes with stewed meats are good as is Miguel's Special, a family favorite as well. Definitely recommend the Chicken en Mole and Enchiladas Banderas. I could keep going on, but those are a few of our top hits. Worth...
Read moreHave always had amazing service and food at Casa De Oro! We are always greeted when we walk in and assisted in a timely manner. The service is out of this world.

I love the different dinner combinations to pick and choose from. I personally always order the Colorado burritos. Tender chunks of beef (reminds me of tender roast beef) in sauce filling two tortillas, covered in more sauce and topped with melting cheese. Served with rice and beans. You definitely won't leave hungry. Generous portions and...
Read moreIf you had told me a week ago that I would have the greatest Mexican food of my life in Iowa of all places, I would have thought you were out of your mind, but this place is incredible.
The fresh chips and accompaniments (especially their wicked Pico de gallo) alone are enough to get me to give Cada De Oro five stars, and everything else on top of it was just as good. Every dish I had was well seasoned and flavorful; the enchiladas were superb and the sauce from it iverflowing into the beans and rice was the happiest accident that could ever happen.
My friends said they had good, strong drinks too, if you're into that.
I have no idea when or how I'll get back there, but I...
