Can't recommend Casa De Oro enough. Local to the area, its hard to find a good Mexican restaurant that ticks off all the boxes. Casa De Oro does so and so much more. Family run with a family friendly atmosphere, you're immediately greeted every time you walk in the door . You'll be hard pressed to find a better welcoming offer of the warm chips, queso, pico, and salsa offered here unless you're in the casa of an abuela. The staff is friendly and attentive, recommend visiting during happy hour between 2 and 5. We've worked our way through most of the menu and can't get enough of the Chili Colorado and the Camarones de Casa De Oro. Any dishes with stewed meats are good as is Miguel's Special, a family favorite as well. Definitely recommend the Chicken en Mole and Enchiladas Banderas. I could keep going on, but those are a few of our top hits. Worth seeking out!

We loved this place! We stopped here on NYE on our way to the casino. The free queso and pico alongside chips and salsa was a unique touch. We loved the Cadillac and banana margaritas. The salsa was better than most Mexican restaurants--smokey and just spicy enough. My hubby had the 3 taco meal (forgot to get a photo) in which the tacos were HUGE and I had the Camarones al Mojo de Ajo which was cooked perfectly and the sauce was to die for. We took probably 3 meals worth of leftovers home. We will definitely be stopping here every time we are in Jefferson in the future!

Okay so...queso? Yep, that’s what arrives at your table shortly after you do, with a basket of crispy chips, salsa and bright pico de gallo. Two ice teas, chicken and shrimp fajita platter and a chimichanga combo arrived and everything was muy delicioso! Our Waitress was the best, kind attentive and personable. She seemed to have the locals orders memorized. We did not imbibe in their alcoholic offerings but they looked good. One things for sure, when you stop by Casa de Oro you have struck gold!

Have always had amazing service and food at Casa De Oro! We are always greeted when we walk in and assisted in a timely manner. The service is out of this world.

The food is amazing. Chips, salsa, pico de gallo, and quest served to your table to start you off while you look over menu. I love that there are plenty of kid options for my children to choose from. They have a variety of American and Mexican food options to choose from.

I love the different dinner combinations to pick and choose from. I personally always order the Colorado burritos. Tender chunks of beef (reminds me of tender roast beef) in sauce filling two tortillas, covered in more sauce and topped with melting cheese. Served with rice and beans. You definitely won't leave hungry. Generous portions and...

If you had told me a week ago that I would have the greatest Mexican food of my life in Iowa of all places, I would have thought you were out of your mind, but this place is incredible.

The fresh chips and accompaniments (especially their wicked Pico de gallo) alone are enough to get me to give Cada De Oro five stars, and everything else on top of it was just as good. Every dish I had was well seasoned and flavorful; the enchiladas were superb and the sauce from it iverflowing into the beans and rice was the happiest accident that could ever happen.

My friends said they had good, strong drinks too, if you're into that.

I have no idea when or how I'll get back there, but I...
