Update 3yrs later 4/14/2023 to 4/17/2023.☆ We gave this hotel another shot. Worse idea ever. Room 119. APRIL 14 TO 17TH. Where do I start. I checked in April 14th. There was 3 people at the front desk who stated at me before they greeted me. I got checked in fast. The evening agent was great and got me extra towels when requested, I wish I got her name but I'm sure you can easily find that out on your scheduling list. She also helped me with finding a working iron. By Saturday morning I had 3 irons that did not work unfortunately. After checking in and settled in Friday, we took the kids to go swim and I was hoping to have a relaxful evening before the big day (Saturday) in the jacuzzi but found out that was not just down but broken and full of mold. The pool area looked clean until you stepped into the pool. Pretty disappointed. Come Saturday morning, the breakfast was fine but there was not enough food and per the dining worker the last person forgot to pull biscuits and other food items down to defrost. Whatever I just had Oatmeal. Come Sunday, after we had coffee, we ran into the Sunday's front desk lady (older short lady with short hair) she at first stood in front of my husband and i and just stared at us, no greeting. Literally just stared at us. After an awkward slince, I finally asked if we can pay extra for a late check out or another night. Her response, they were full for the week and would not be able to help. I was shocked, I mean it is Sunday in Kewanee there was bound to have something. She gave off the vibe as if we didn't understood English, and didn't want to help us until i spoke English. Well, I walked away and mumbled how rude that encounter was and believe she mistaken that we didn't speak English. I'm sure she heard. While in my room i looked up the booking and found several rooms available to book. I went back to front desk and asked for a room. Room booked. She didn't hesitate. Later that day (sunday), we left to grabbed food. When we came back, we could not get in to our room. The evening front desk apologized and explained she accidentally gave my room to another guest who actually walked into my room. Shocked! My thousand dollar camera sitting on the desk could have been stolen. I am glad everything was still in place. She fixed our keys.
It was pretty rough. Oh and from the last review I posted in 2019, I never got a call from the hotel management to apologize and I'm sure it won't happen this time either. Do yourself a favor and book motel 6 which is right next door.
This was the 1st of 3 hotels we stayed at this week.. the 3rd being a motel. (Motel 6 Kewanee).
Checked in pretty late 2am June 8th 2019. Night audit Older lady was pretty rude.. I know it was late but no reason to have an attitude as if she didnt want to be there or help us.. we paid cash and she made it seemed that was inconvenient for her. When we got to our room. it smelled of old Mexican food. smell was strong, so, We told the audit who could seemed not to care. she rolled her eyes, said there is no other rooms and gave us a bottle of febreeze. Other than this night audit, the weekend was great. Our next visit to Kewanee, we will be...

My son and I stayed at the AmericiInn December 29th. We were in room 207. The lobby was very nicely decorated and was very clean. Our room was nice and very clean. The refrigerator squeaked all night. I got up at 5:15 am, Dec 30th, I waited 10 minutes and the shower would get barely warm. When I left at 6:15 am there was a lady in a red top, maybe sweater watching TV. When I returned at 6:45 am she was still watching TV. I sat in the breakfast area and waited for my son to come down. When he came down the stairs at 7 am the lady watching TV then got up and went towards counter. My son and I were getting breakfast and my son made a pancake. It came out very thin. When he went to make a second it said add batter. I went to the desk, the lady was standing over by time clock. I said excuse me, would you happen to have any more pancake batter? She very rudely said, " I already filled it!". I said well I am sorry, it said on the machine it was out. She then went over, did something and then gave me a look like, I told you so! My son and I looked and a 3" pancake came out and it said something on machine about press 1 or 2 for pancakes. So we ate eggs, as the sausage were over cooked and some burnt, they were hard. Two employees walked so I went up to desk to check out. When I was checking out I told the lady incase anyone comes down for breakfast the pancake machine is still not working. The lady that had yelled at me early says harshly, "why didn't you tell me it still wasn't working". As I started to cry I said, "because I didn't want you to yell at me again." She then clocked out and left. I asked the lady checking me out what the woman's name was and she told me Carolynn. The lady behind the desk said she would let you know what had happened and also gave me your card. She told me I could call you on Tuesday. I thought it best to just email you. To anyone out there and all the followers I have out there, 25 Million Views and counting, we do not recommend this Hotel, worst experience ever in our lives, Windham should be ashamed to have their name attached...
Read moreI stayed here for a couple nights on a work trip. The hotel staff was friendly at check in. There was a sign at the front desk stating there was no turn down service due to COVID and at this point it appears hotels that do this are cutting costs and nothing more. Parking was good with plenty of spaces available as it seemed to be a quiet night. There was a pool but I’m unsure if it was open, there were ice machines as well as vending machines, hot breakfast in the morning which was a standard set up with pancakes, eggs, sausage patties, biscuits and gravy, juice, coffee, oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, granola bars and fruit. Booked the room online and did not request a HC room but that’s what I got; I don’t know how or why that happens at times when you book with third party sites. Sometimes it works in your favor as some things in the room are usually a little bigger; however it wasn’t true in this case. The room was clean but there was an overpowering smell of deodorizer or something in the room. The light in the room was not very bright and there was only one curtain for the window so it was either have it open for no privacy or close it for no natural light. There wasn’t an extra outlet by the nightstand to plug in a phone charger and cell reception was not very good for me; I have ATT and don’t usually have any issues but my calls kept dropping and I only had one bar even if I connected to Wifi. The fan in the bathroom did not work, one of the lightbulbs appeared to be out and the shower was dark once you pulled the curtain. The shower was very small and the water pressure was not good at all. It took a long time for the water to get hot and the water began to overflow and seep out of the shower and over the floor to the bath mat. Not very safe; especially in a HC room. There was also a sewage smell that I noticed after my shower which did not welcome me to take another shower. Didn’t use the microwave as there were a group of ants around the counter and outlet. The room served its purpose but I cannot say I...
