A Channel View Bed and Breakfast — Hotel in Kodiak

It’s hard to say what might make Kodiak an even more amazing place to visit than it already is, but staying with Mary & Ron at “A Channel View B&B” certainly made our week-long visit to Kodiak this August one of the most unforgettable trips of our lives. ||||Not only did we have a front seat view of the bay with its changing wind and weather in all its beauty, but Mary & Ron are the kindest most welcoming hosts one could ever ask for. They advised us on trails and vista points; lent us bear spray (needed almost everywhere!); and provided everything we needed.||||Additionally, Mary is a 5th generation Kodiak resident, and stories and pictures full of fascinating family history filled the Western Alaska Studio Suite we stayed in.  We loved reading about the amazing lives of her grandparents and their impact on Kodiak history on the one really rainy day we had.||||The Western Alaska Studio Suite was not only spacious and comfortable, but every possible detail to make it a true home had been thought of - from a fridge stocked with goodies, to an outdoor grille, to cozy blankets to curl up with, and nice thick bathrobes in the bathroom. ||||Kodiak is a rugged place, but we found its people very welcoming — and with Mary & Ron making us feel like part of the family we will...

This is the BEST place to stay in Kodiak!!! Mary and Ron were the perfect hosts for this amazing spot!!! What a remarkable view and super comfortable space for our first time on the island :-) Mary lent us a fossil digging kit, as well as boots for my partner to help us explore the beautiful shoreline. The decor is so beautiful inside the B&B...nautical antiques everywhere! The garden leading to our private entrance is something out of a magazine! We had easy parking and convenient access to everything fun in Kodiak. Mary's recommendation of Captain John's Harbor Tour was spot-on...what a fun time! The bed was also super comfy and the huge bathroom was so inviting after a beautiful day of watching bears and beach-combing. Finally, the gourmet breakfast Mary prepared was super yummy and beautiful...I almost didn't want to eat it because it looked so perfect :-) Thanks, also, for the fresh flowers in the room and even in our napkin holders!
