Atmosphere & Location: 2 of 2 Stars Hotel Room & Spa: 2 of 2 Stars Staff: 1 of 1 Stars SUMMARY: Lake Opechee Inn & Spa was a much needed escape from our day to day. My wife and I decided to spend 2 nights here for our 3 year wedding anniversary and we loved it. The location was beautiful as this property sat right up against a lovely and peaceful lake. The Hotel had an aged presence which gave it it's historic charm. The rooms were spacious and the fireplace really allowed for some romantic ambiance. The spa was wonderful. We got a facial and a couples massage. Both of which aided in alleviating some pent up stress from the hustle and bustle of modern day work. ATMOSPHERE: The hotel and it's location allowed for much needed R&R. It was quiet and calm. The grounds were well kept and clean. The entrance was nicely decorated and the common spaces were kept up and well organized. They did a good job at keeping COVID in mind (even though most of us wished it was over) by only allowing private use of some spaces (billiards room and pool). Navigating the property was a think-less task as there are only 2 floors and 2 main entrances. Also, parking is a non-issue given the ample space. These facets added to the purpose of our trip which was to have an easy going and stress-free get away. ROOMS&SPA: Our room was quite spacious and beautifully decorated with blacks, whites and reds. We appreciated the synchronicity of the fabric patterning on the curtains, pillows and as the wall paper in the bathroom. The fireplace with the 2 chairs really ensured we were able to relax in a warm space. We slept with the windows open and to our surprise, we heard nothing all night! Peace and Quiet! The only recommendation I have is to install some recess lighting in the main living space as it is fairly dark and having to turn on all the lamps isn't much fun. The spa was comfortable and relaxing. I received the tranquility signature facial and my wife received the custom facial before our couples deep tissue massages. I was very pleased with my facial as it was also accompanied with a small back massage. My wife also enjoyed her facial as it focused on her skin and while ensuring she left with her face feeling rejuvenated and hydrated. Our couples massage was amazing. I personally only had 1 other massage (outside of ones my wife gives me) and this one blew my first one out of the water! It relived so much built up tension in my back and neck. STAFF: Dan at the front desk was super helpful and knowledgeable about the property. He gave us the full run down of the hotel when we arrived and was very pleasant overall. He also ensured to get our faulty key card replaced ASAP. Sonia and Summer gave us our facials and they did not disappoint! Melissa and Meghan were our massage therapists and they did a phenomenal job with working our bodies. I am truly grateful to those that really have a passion to help the bodies of others. We have mechanics for our cars and massage therapists for our bodies!

Full of Surprises My husband and I just spent a week here and we could not have been happier. This will be our go-to from now on. The people are so nice we felt like we were back home in South Georgia. I will say, after visiting this area for the past three years, we have found the people of Laconia across the board to be quite friendly. (Shh…we don’t want word to get out and them lose the quaintness of the town). The views of Lake Opechee in the morning and evening from our room were magnificent. The room, well appointed and roomy, with a fireplace and down feather-topper bed and plenty of down pillows made us feel like we were getting a hug every time we returned to our room each night. One of the greatest surprises about the Inn were the four-legged greeters and hosts - three golden retrievers. We lost our two Goldens a few years ago, so to get some golden love while we were there was just icing on the cake. We never ate in the attached restaurant because we ate our meals with family in their homes but it seemed like an excellent place to dine and we plan to check it out next time we visit. The story behind the Inn and the family who decided to resurrect the historical building certainly added to the charm. And for us, finding a Bible in the side table was just another God-wink that we were in the right place. So many wonderful memories made this year. Thank you Melissa, Tammy, Cathy and others. We look forward to visiting with you again in the future. God bless! Lisa and Miles Hannan - Valdosta, Georgia

This was not the place I planned to go to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday in NH. I just saw it on a booking app. I didn't expect much. But the hotel made me feel more wonderful than anything. The staff was very enthusiastic and the 3 adorable golden . My boyfriend even got a birthday greeting. The room and view were great despite the heavy snow. We were quite surprised that such a great place didn't have many reviews. They have bagels and muffins, egg coffee and other baked goods,.. try it and experience it as I said or not. We will come back next time we are in New Hampshire. Everything here is quiet, neat and clean. We arrived on Thursday night and we were the only guests that day. We checked in and there was a lady with glasses that day and she had difficulty walking. I really appreciated her enthusiasm to help us make hot chocolate. She was so sweet. Thank you for giving us a great experience. I am a very picky person but this place makes me happy and feel warm. It is worth the money and wonderful. Come and experience. You will feel like me.

One of the best places i have ever stayed at! My husband and I decided VERY LAST MIN that after a procedure I had (that required me to take a few days off work) we would get away from home and stay somewhere nice and comfy. This place exceeded all our expectations. Its a true hidden gem in the lakes region. Right on the water, resturant, gift shops, breakfast and spa. The decor was set up like a cozy bed and breakfast. Small pool, but it wasn't open due to covid. Game lounge with pool table, but also not open due to covid. Restaurant was high scale dining and may be a aquired taste for some, but beautiful views from outdoor seating. Some rooms had balconies outlooking the water. We stayed in the "Phoenix room" 2 queen beds, fridge, full bath with tub, a fireplace, longe area. THE ROOM WAS HUGE. Beds were amazingly comfortable. Down feather mattress topper and douve. Upon booking, they asked if we had any allergys to feathers. We had them removed from my daughter's bed. Very courteous of them to ask. They offer many packages for rooms. Hoping to come back (without kids) and take advantage of one of rhe romance packages. Spa has many options. Mani/Pedis, facials, body wraps and massages.. Unfortunately you need to plan ahead they were completely booked. A little disappointed there is no swimming area outside on the lake, but seating around the lake gives you a upclose intimate experince. We had one minor toilet issue (most likely due to our child putting too much TP in the toilet) this happened at 12 at night. Front desk responded right away. Staff is super nice. You can tell right away this is a family run business that they take great pride in. Looking forward to many trips back here in the future (possibly even ou...
