We arrived at 5:25 for our 5:30 reservation on Wednesday night. We were greeted by a friendly older woman, and that's the last interaction we had with anybody in the restaurant. The hostess who seated us did not smile and did not say one word to us. Led us to our table, set the menus down and walked off. It was just us and one other table in the entire dining room, so not busy at all (and when we left, there were a total of three tables including us). A few minutes later, a couple with a small child came in and sat at the table right next to ours. It was obvious that the employees knew them, as the wait staff went to their table over and over, talking and laughing and waiting on them hand and foot. They immediately got glasses of water, they got drinks, they got appetizers. They had finished their appetizers and we were still sitting there waiting to be acknowledged by anybody. Not one person came to our table, even though the wait staff had to literally walk between our table and theirs to go back of house. Their waitress went to their table over eight times while we sat there, and a waiter came over separately and repeatedly as well. On one of the hottest days of the year, we weren't given a glass of water. There was a waiter standing at the bar visiting with people, there were restaurant employees walking around and not one person looked at us or came near us. After 20 minutes, we went and asked to speak to the manager to tell her we were leaving. She first asked me if we had had a reservation. We did, but what does that have to do with anything? She then asked us where we were sitting and we pointed to the most obvious table in the room, in view of everything and everybody. She didn't apologize, she didn't try and make it right, she just asked me for my name. I actually had the silly thought that maybe someone would reach out to us, since she asked. Nope, we walked out of the restaurant and a minute later we received a text from them stating that they had canceled our reservation! That's like your boss telling you you're fired right after you told him you're quitting! We told the manager that since they were a brand new restaurant trying to build up clientele, that was a really poor way to begin. She didn't seem to care at all. We went across the street to Fratello's where we received attentive, friendly and...
Read moreAfter being highly recommended, we had dinner at The Junction tonight and were so glad we did! We were greeted by a very friendly woman at the front reception who seated us right away (we did have a reservation). A moment later, our waiter acknowledged us to let us know he’d be over shortly.
After a brief wait, the hostess kindly came by to let us know he was tied up with another table and offered to get us drinks, which we really appreciated. A short time later, our waiter Sean arrived—he immediately apologized for the wait and was absolutely wonderful for the rest of the evening.
Sean was friendly, attentive, and gave great feedback when we asked for recommendations. We had heard a few comments about the restaurant being noisy, but we didn’t find it to be an issue at all. The tall ceilings might make it a bit lively, but it didn’t take away from our experience one bit.
Overall, everything was fantastic—especially the service from both staff members we interacted with. Sean was an awesome server! I didn’t get a photo of the calamari, but my husband said it was amazing. We’ll...
Read moreWe chose to try Junction while driving through town, and we're very glad we did! Junction is new but has already set the standard for great food and vibes in Laconia. The staff are friendly and accommodating, and the interior is upscale yet casual.
We started with fun cocktails and ordered a variety of appetizers, including raw bar, calamari, tacos and wings. The oysters were very fresh and large (which pleased us Bostonians). We split the calamari and shrimp, which were equally fresh and perfectly fried. The aioli dip is so good!
My friend explicitly stated that the (parmesan) wings were some of the BEST wings she has ever had, and I have to agree. The octopus tacos surprised us, as they were filling and absolutely delicious.
In addition, there is a lovely shop attached with unique goods. We will definitely recommend Junction to loved ones who are...
