Update Absolutely disgusted and utterly amazed by how terrible and disrespectful we were treated. I thought the hotel and rooms were awful, but the customer service and guest relations were even worse. At 10:41 a.m., there was a loud bang on the door. We had just transferred from their sister property Premier Suites the day before and apparently she was having a technical issue with the checking in/checking out problem occuring in their system and the sister property we transfered from but she demanded we had until 11 am to come down to the desk to pay for last night and to get our belongings and leave the room. We were dumbfounded and tried to figure out what was going on and why, she was very adamant and rude with a very nasty attitude that FEMA wasn't paying for it, we needed to pay for last night, get our things and leave the property before 11am. She wasn't giving us any kind of positive solution, very combative, argumentative, and unprofessional. So after going down to the front desk, getting verbally assaulted by the manager (who refused to give us her name), $96.51 out of our pockets for the prior nights stay(that we should not have paid and are not responsible for because FEMA is paying and covering it, but the real issue was that the sister property was baiscally double dipping, not allowing us to check out when we wanted, not giving us a receipt, not notifying us that we had to sign a check out paper in order to offically check out and get our $100 deposit back, so as we checked out and the room was empty but in their system FEMA was still seeing us as checked in and therefore paying for the nights they still have us checked in for. That could go on until, i don't know until we checked into another hotel and wasn't approved because of what they are doing. So they get paid, and we still have to come out of pocket of our own and pay for our own hotel stay since FEMA can't be used. That's fraud!). Then, on top of all of the complicated mess, the total disregard, disrespect, and mistreatment in the unprofessional manner we were dealt with. We thought all things we good and all set to go for our stay until January. But no long story short, it was very uncomfortable, unsafe, very uneasy amongst all the nastiness and lack of cleanliness of the hotel room. There were cockroaches in the kitchen, bathroom, ceilings then crawling then falling into in bed. Dirty filthy hardwood floors havent been mopped in over a month. Dirt and dust everywhere. We had had enough and had to check out. With experiencing everything we did with the hurricanes and losing everything we owned me and my fiancé was even more distraught and just felt hopeless and felt more comfort in sleeping and staying in our rental car then staying at that hotel. So I hope FEMA cuts off their contract with your company, especially your property, as well code enforcement, and the health department shut you down for all the violations you have at your property. Believe me I know all about "you get what you pay for" but with this we had very poor absolutely horrifying experiences from this hotel property and their sister property Premier Suites, one is on the higher end of the scale and the other is in the lower end of the scale. So, that rule must not apply here. Both front desk managers and the front desk staff should not be working in the hospitality industry at all! They act like we are bothering them because you are asking for some assistance with something. Very short, not pleasant or warm or even nice or welcoming. They need major training in customer service and guest relations as well as plain old respect and common sense. Especially in this industry, this day in age, and during a time of actual true crisis. Amazing contemporary style rooms. Sleek and simple. Lost everything in the hurricanes. Larry made me feel right at home with service and everything.Has everything you need. Lost everything in the hurricanes. Larry made me and my fiance feel right at home with service and everything after experiencing losing everything we owned in...
Read moreIf I could give them negative stars I would! I don't even know where to start! Not sure why there is toilet paper in the bathroom door stop and I honestly don't want to know why it is yellow, but I would like to know how housekeeping missed that! Why did maintenance think double sided tape would fix the bathroom vanity! I am still not sure why there where 2 microwaves in the kitchenette, but I can tell you they both where disgusting! The picture of the paw prints are from my little girl after walking on the filthy floor! The AC was acting up and when I went to change the temperature I was disgusted to see black dirt in the AC vents! The refrigerator sounded like a motorcycle leaning against the wall whenever it kicked on to run! TV wouldn't turn on! The halls smelled like a dirty nursing home! I got two different prices for the pet fee, one from the front desk receptionist stated $25 per pet per first 7 nights of stay then $11 per night per pet per the rest of the stay, then the next day the manager states $28 per pet per first 7 nights of stay then $11.50 per pet per night for the rest of the stay! On top of that they had no pet clean up station and there was trash all over the property which left me feeling like I couldn't walk my pup on the property safely without me having to say leave it over and over again to keep her from picking up the trash! The front desk is in a little hallway and has a gate that gets closed and no one is around to help you! My furr babies were scared to the point that my cat hid under the covers and she never does that! Oh yeah, yes you do see green and black around the molding on the floor in those pictures! Did housekeeping even clean the floor! I should of known that this was going to be a disaster when my check in started like this! After checking in I asked for the room key and she stated that it is the same room that I have been staying in and I stated back that I just checked in! Expedia try to get a refund for the rest of my stay since I only stayed 2 nights out of a 29 night booking, but they refused! DO NOT STAY HERE ESPECIALLY IF...
