When I first arrived for check in I was told to wait because no rooms where clean and ready at the moment so I patiently waited. I informed the person at the front desk (Cassandra) I had my dog with me and I needed to pay the pet fee and she told me to wait until I check in. Half an hour later I was told to come check in and when I did she informed me Expedia credit card was declining and I could not get checked in until the problem was fixed. I had informed her again about my pet fee. So I called Expedia and informed them about the problem and they gave her a call that it should go through and got an attitude with them because she said it is their problem to fix. I was on the phone for 2 hours trying to see what Expedia could do to help me. I was getting frustrated and started demanding Expedia to fix the problem. After 3 1/2 hours later she decided to recheck my booking and realized within 1 minute that it was my pet fee that was not going through. I felt embarrassed for getting frustrated with Expedia for no reason when it took her just 1 minute to realize that she was to charge me my pet fee. I waited hours to get my room for a simple mistake that should have not happened after I told her twice about paying my pet fee in person. Even Expedia supervisor was upset I had to go through that and gave me a $35 off coupon for any booking...
Read moreThis is the worst BW I've ever stayed at. It sits right next to Travel Center of America (TA) in LaPlace Louisiana. Making it super convenient for me, as a truck driver. I booked the room for 2 nights through Priceline. My first red flag was having to knock on the front counter several times to get someone's attention and get checked in. Then they asked for an extra $50 deposit for "incidentals". Saturday morning I went to enjoys the complimentary breakfast and hit on disappointment immediately. The hot plates for eggs and sausage were cold and empty. The yogurt machine either didn't work or it was empty. The only cereal I saw was stail Cheerios. The room was actually decent. And my first night was peaceful. Night 2 though was noisy and I was woken up several times by shouting and arguing from other guests. There is a Starbucks, McDonald's and Waffle House near by. But the breakfast at the McDonald's was NASTY! Sausage with egg McMuffin was terrible. Sausage was hard as a rock and the egg was crusty. I took it back to be replaced and they handed me another...
Read moreJust left there and was quite underwhelmed. My first impression was the photos of the facility. They were VERY careful to not show it is an exterior access hotel. When I pulled up there it is- open exterior access within walking distance of I-10. I go to the lobby to check in and wow- the front door is locked at 7:30 so I wait in the ante room to be checked in. Apparently the owner is concerned about the safety of his employees which is great. What about the rest of us? I travel 40 weeks a year and have never been forced to check in outside the hotel.
The next morning as I am taking a bag to my car a housekeeper hollers at me "Hey- what room you in" (nice grammar). Taken aback, I respond and she says "Have you checked out yet? Guess I'll be coming to do that one now." Again, have never had this happen to me. Obtrusive and interrogative questioning does not make for a welcoming experience.
As a side note, the room was indeed nicely appointed and comfortable. Sadly the interpersonal experience destroyed any chances of me returning to...
