Upon entry, it looks nice, until you get into the elevator: the carpet is shameful dirty and the elevator has a loud and tangible "Jerk-pop". You get what you pay for, this was approx 110 per night so not too bad, however, once you get into the room, all looks well, looks clean, until you look down at the carpet- yuck, stain after stain. A good shampoo would do wonders, they should really try it. The towels ate few and very old and thin looking. The toilet paper is bad- dime store, thin, cheap; they have larger single use lotion bottles, plastic wrapped drinking cups. The pool area is decent, the water is colder, doesn't seem to be heated at all, and there is no hot tub. There is an excessive room. We had to ask for pool towels and the very nice front desk gentleman was quick to bring out more. Breakfast looked promising, however the fruit salad had cut up oranges with the rind still attached, I'd never seen that before in a fruit salad, and unfortunately it was soured and looked to be days old- yuck. They offered typical rehydrated scrambled eggs, sausage. French toast sticks which unfortunately were like small bricks and non-edible, probably also due to being days left over & reheated. The bread slices were stale and hard, unless you dug behind the front pieces for less stale choices. Fresh food would up the game here: old and stale is not okay. There is a fire put with chairs and a pergola accessible from the dining area, howver be aware that if you don't have a key on you, and your partner has it, be aware that you will not be able to get back in on your own. Wish they had a sign on the door! Of they fixed a few things, it could be a decent place, but until then would not stay again. Oh, and we had 2 free drinks from booking on horels.com, and were told we could only choose soda or water, everything else was "too expensive ". Haha, way to make your quests...
Read moreI had to travel to Lawrence last minute. I will be honest, staying at a hotel during this time was not something I wanted to do. I have two auto immune diseases. The COVID 19 outbreak had me really on edge. This trip was essential. I had to get a hotel. I have previously stayed in Country Inn suites many times. I stay here every time I come to Lawrence, and that is frequently during the football season. I have never been disappointed. The hotel itself is modern and extremely clean, and the staff always go above and beyond. I booked last minute, and I was impressed with the way that they have adapted to the pandemic situation. Of course the establishment is clean, but they are really following the CDC guidelines, and making sure that both the staff and guest are kept safe. I know that this is a hotel that is a great place to stay if one needs to travel. You will not be disappointed and the staff is amazing. It is a home away from home, which is comforting, especially during these times. Justin, the manager, is amazing as well as the other staff members which include, but not limited to William, Alisha, Alyssa and Brain. The manager over housekeeping takes her job very seriously, and when I say that the rooms and hotel is immaculate, that is an understatement, and I am very OCD. Ivan is amazing and always make me feel like family here. I promise that this is amazing place to stay and you will not be disappointed.I was only suppose to stay one night , Monday, but I needed to stay longer, and wanted to . My husband and I also celebrating our 18th anniversary, and enjoyed our time here. I can not say enough wonderful things about it. I will not stay...
Read moreI recently had the misfortune of booking a stay at Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Lawrence, KS , and I can confidently say it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. As someone with multiple sclerosis, I often need to make last-minute changes to my travel plans due to my health condition. Unfortunately, this hotel showed no understanding or empathy whatsoever.||||First off, their cancellation policy is utterly rigid and unreasonable. When I tried to explain my situation, the staff were incredibly rude and dismissive. They seemed more interested in their bottom line than in providing any sort of customer service. I was bounced from one employee to another, each one more unhelpful than the last. It was clear they had no intention of accommodating my needs or offering any flexibility.||||The lack of empathy was astonishing. Instead of trying to understand my condition, they acted as if I was trying to scam them. Their greed was palpable, and they made it abundantly clear that they only cared about making money off their guests, no matter the circumstances.||||To add insult to injury, the overall attitude of the staff was appalling. They gave me the runaround, wasted my time, and made an already stressful situation even worse. It's deeply disappointing that a place in the hospitality industry could be so inhospitable.||||I would strongly advise anyone, especially those with health conditions, to steer clear of Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Lawrence, KS. Their lack of compassion and customer service is truly...
