Douglas County Fairgrounds- Flory Meeting Hall — Local services in Lawrence

Over all, a great space to rent out. Typically hosting the county fair and various charity events, this large lot with multiple sized buildings is a good start. However, the buildings are not at all constructed to keep out heat in the summer nor cold in the winter. Industrial fans will be needed to keep the event space cool enough to stand on the hottest days. Often people will cool off in their cars, then return to the event--a rather large downside for charity and personal events. We visited the Douglas County Fairground for their 4th of July events, and it was fantastic! The live concert was so much fun—great music and a lively crowd. But the highlight had to be the drone show—it was absolutely mesmerizing and unlike anything we’ve seen before!
