The door to my room stayed open about an inch after it locked. You can still see into the room. It had baby roaches all over the place and the frame legs were bending and about to break. If you got onto the bed and you rolled over really hard they'd probably break off. The toilet did not flush. There was blood on the walls along with many other things. I had to request a new room which I found out was the last room in the motel and took over 45 minutes to request and switch rooms. I did inspect the new room and made sure the frame would not shift and break under use. However, I did not check the mattress and when I went to bed I found three huge dips in it where the mattress sunk through the frame. You could only lay down the center, if you shifted, it would feel like you were going to roll off. I had no sleep at all. The only reason that I purchased the room is I was too exhausted to finish My trip and there were 2 hours left. I overslept and woke up after 10:15 ran downstairs and tried to request extra time so that I can wake up, shower, and finish my drive. The manager had no right to be in customer service. She was rude and unattentive. When I tried to go back to my room my key did not work so I had to make another trip downstairs to get that fixed where the manager again was rude. It was not checkout time so there was no reason for the key to not be working. It took absolutely forever to shower because the shower head sprayed out nothing but mist. There was blood on the walls in both rooms. The light switches did not work correctly in the new room either. The night attendant was amazing, professional and very apologetic. I'm out of characters but...
Read moreLet me preface this by saying I am an experienced hotel traveler. From up and down the East Coast to exploring the mid-west, I've stayed at a wide variety of hotels and consistently found myself disappointed with this property and company during my week long stay. The only reason I didn't rate one star is because of the awesome Front Desk attendant, Montie, and the fact that I at least felt safe staying there.
Aside from that... Where do I start? From the broken window screen to freezer that didn't freeze, to the most unintuitive lighting system, dirty and rusted showers, doors that slam so loud I kept thinking it was my door someone was using (it's just out of sight when you're in bed), to the lumpy bed that I still have a stiff neck from, to the exhaust fan over the hot plates that reeks of various spices as soon as you turn it on, everything here was just off.
Their policies in general are horribly exploitative of the guests. From having to pay for a cookware set, BI-WEEKLY HOUSEKEEPING, no staff at the desk after 7pm, a charge to swap out towels and linen, no convenient area to remove trash, making you check out an IRON (again, remember there's very limited office hours at that), people loitering the halls at all hours of the night, regular pickup trucks allowed to take up multiple spaces, this place is just a flat out disappointment, even when price is factored in.
Motel 6 or Extended Stay America are FAR more comfortable and affordable if you're staying a week or more. Do yourself a favor and go just about anywhere else. They don't deserve or appreciate...
