IHOP — Restaurant in Lawrence

Worst experience ever ...... It was5 am . 1 customer sitting, 2 young ladies sitting I guess waiting to put in a to go order and a police officer working security. My son and l were Seated by a very young man (probably first job, I have no complaints about that any young person willing to get a job is ok with me) right away. He introduced himself as our server took drink order and brought right back. He said he would be right back for this order. Sitting there I noticed two other young ladies filling syrups an checking on the only other person seated. I am a very patient person and trying too be understanding that it's server is probably new my frustration was building after watching my server ignore us for I swear 25 mins while he flirted we the two young ladies an took there to go o order s and going out of his way for them. Still no prob there . Keep in mind not one person said anything to is even though the other servers saw me trying to kindly get anyone's attention. After another ten mins the young man came over and said 'oh no one came and took your order, let me check and send if my card still works".. Keep in mind he had already introduced himself as our server... Long story short, starving at this point waiting another LITERALLY 25 MINS again. Keep in mind the only other person (s) waiting was the two young ladies who my server noticed order was wrong and had to be remade. Our s came out WRONG but hungry o said nothing and just ate it. Now I noticed what was probably a manager, another server came in so I'm sure that it must have been 6 by now. The young man then came over 3 times to ask how our food is (that is why l am guessing a manager showed up). Exhausted, frustrated and ready to go I kept trying to discreetly get anyone's attention to get bill (maybe 3 customers, four servers and a cool latest now) tilll finally i got up walked around restaurant to find server to get us the bill. He' went to the POS system and I could tell he was struggling an none of his co workers made ANY ATTEMPT ever to help him out us. Now I did tip the young man even though he it was lousy everything for two reasons. 1 I could tell he was very new and he's was trying to the best of his ability s serving is not got everyone. 2 I believe this bad service is the restaurant s fault because of the multitude of reasons listed above. What happened to team work or at least customer service because believe me my frustrations were all over my face. I refuse to make a scene especially when I believe the wrong person would be the person paying for the problem with the restaurant in whole. This was maybe our 3rd time there and I can almost guarantee the last. I'm sure this won't get a response because if they don't pay attention to customers there I'm sure they don't online. OMG!!! Terrible service. My husband and I went there with our kids yesterday and everything started off bad from the moment we set foot in the door. First we were seated super close to another family so we asked to move to a half booth half table that we saw was open and they said we couldn't. So they moved us one table over. Then the waiter took forever to come to the table to get our drink order. We waited for like 20 minutes before he came to the table. After he took our drink order we waited another 20 minutes for him to come back to the table only for him to come back and ask us if he took our drink order. I was like you already took it and yet we still had no drinks. He forgot about our drinks. When he took our food order it took like a good 40 minutes to get food and when it did come my crepes were cold and plain. They didnt even put the strawberries and cream on them. My husbands chocolate pancakes were cold as well and looked nothing like the picture in the menu. And the chocolate they put on top looked like they took a fork and scooped it out of a jar and put on top of the pancakes. I mean you could see the fork marks. The pancakes tasted like chalk and the crepes were still cold when they brought them back to me. I'm pretty sure they were the same ones they brought me the first time they just finally added the strawberries and creme. Also, the waiter didnt even bring us refills until we asked and when he brought mine he legit knocked it over the table and it spilled everywhere. I helped him clean it up and he didnt even bring me another one. Also, my husband and I ordered the big steak omelette and it was terrible. His meat was cold and it was legit filled with nothing but hash browns. I couldnt even finish it. We didn't finish anything. We ended up paying over $60 for terrible service and terrible food. I will never go there again. Waiting 40 minutes for food when you have 2...

After waiting a few minutes to be seated because there was no one at the door, we were finally seated. Well when we were seated there was trash everywhere under the table that you could see even before sitting down. The table itself is clearly dirty with stuff stuck too it and all. The shades in the window are disgusting. There is food all up and down them. It is just down right disturbing that they care so little. There was a table before us and the server rightfully took their drink order first. Well, you would think she would get our drink order too. No. She took their drink order, brought them drinks, took their food order and placed it. She then went to ANOTHER table and checked on them and brought what they needed. All while we're sitting here just looking around the restaurant. I finally see the manager after he seats a table. I call him over and explain that we had been waiting and this woman has been to many other tables before even greeting us or taking our drink order. I got some backhand excuse that "well she's right here." He was a complete ass. They have people lined up waiting to pay, lined up waiting to be seated and tables that are wanting to leave. They really need to start working on their staffing. Not to mention there is only one cook in the back for a restaurant full of people. Oh, almost forgot that they have 2-liters of Pepsi lined up in their kitchen. Kinda concerned why they are there and why they need them. I definitely don't see myself coming back. Work on your staffing and management. This is just pathetic. Almost walked out after the MANAGER got an attitude with me. Now he's not even wearing gloves preparing...
