So we stayed the the Fairfield over the weekend. Check in was quick, the gentleman found our reservation and said "you reserved a room with 2 beds, right?" I said yes, correct. He was pleasant and polite.||||And then it all went south.||||Went and got my 14 year old granddaughter out of the car, we went to the room, walk in, and there is one king bed, not 2 beds. I say to her "he even confirmed we needed 2 beds" so we leave and go back to the lobby. Where we find out all they have are king rooms. Another woman was standing a the desk and she says "you have my same situation" so we were not the only ones who had screwed up reservations.||||Thinking back I'm sure he knew he was giving us a king room but maybe, just maybe, we wouldn't notice we were missing a bed?!||||So he asked if we wanted a rollaway. Not happy but I said yes. To his credit he was at our room within 5 minutes with bedding, then went and got the rollaway. The rooms are small so now we had a room that consisted of all bed, no room to move. Then he asked if we needed anything else. Besides more room no. ||||After he left we then had to take the bedding out of the plastic and make the bed ourselves. My granddaughter took the rollaway, I asked if it was comfortable at all she said not even close. I felt bad because she wasn't feeling well and as a result of the crappy bed she didn't get a good night's sleep. She even had to get up in the middle of the night and remake the bed because the sheets were too big for the bed. I offered to put pillows in the middle of the bed so she could get in the king bed but she thought that would be too weird. I agreed. I also offered to switch but the sweetheart that she is she said no.||||On a positive note, the bathroom was roomy and the shower had good pressure. Also the next day the breakfast was pretty decent, eggs, sausage, waffles, fruit etc and the area was kept clean. The whole hotel was very clean including our room. That's the only reason I gave them a 3 instead of a 1 review.||||They did adjust the room to the rate of the king but later in the day my poor granddaughter was so tired from the lack of sleep I wished I would have caused more of a fuss when checking out. Oh well, next time...

Read moreI've stayed at this hotel several times in the past. Its convenient location and my Marriott points give it a draw.
However, this time, I had such a negative experience that I will likely stay further away rather than stay there again.
Something consistent across all my stays is that the rooms all smell like body odor. I've experienced this each time I've stayed there and always took it as a fluke that a super smelly Navy guy must have had my room before me. But now, on my 4th visit to this hotel, its clear that its not just my rooms--its all the rooms.
Specific to this stay: On my second day at the hotel, I came back to my room to find my tub filled with standing water, the toilet not cleaned, the sink not cleaned and a large amount of dust still near the nightstand. The bed was sloppily made and looked like someone had been sitting on it. The tub had mildew behind the shower curtain. I rang the front desk to express my concern over the way the room was maintained and was placed on hold rather rudely by the night desk attendant. When she came back on the line, she sent me to the manager's voicemail. I left a message, but never heard a word back from the manager. At the very least, he should have called to apologize, offered to have someone come up and remedy the room or offered to move me to another room, but instead I heard nothing.
Another item to note is that the room only had one trash can. Perhaps this is some new way of Marriott saving money? I'm not sure--but all the trash from the desk, etc, had to go to the tiny bathroom trashcan.
On a positive note, the lady on the day shift was very kind and welcoming. She remembered me from my previous stays and made sure to address me by name. This was a pleasant surprise to see that level of customer service. And very different than the...
