I had reserved an accessible hotel room with two beds to be shared by my parents (who needed an accessible shower/bath) and myself. When I arrived for check in, We were not given an accessible room. The only person working at the front desk (of a large hotel) had no explanation. She claimed I had not reserved it as accessible. When I came back in with my reservation, showing accessible she was confused. She claimed there were no other accessible rooms available except a king size and seemed unwilling to make any kind of offer to allow my parents to stay in it. She offered a shower chair at that time. She was dealing with another client and trying to contact a manager who was not answering their phone.
My parents and I went to the room. It was a nice room, but my father did not feel comfortable with the tub. There were also only 2 sets of towels. We had clearly reserved for 3 people. I called the front desk and asked about the shower chair and towels. She had to call her manager about the chair. She brought up the towels and said she was waiting to hear from the manager.
As it was late, we got ready and went to bed. We checked in after 8pm and were in bed around 10pm. After 10pm, the front desk person calls explaining our reserved room had been damaged by a previous guest and the only room available had been the king, so they re-assigned us to a non-accessible room. When I asked if the king room was empty - thinking maybe my father could shower there in the morning as we were not going to change rooms at this point, she said that the room had been given away.
She could not explain why we were not immediately contacted when the damage was noticed and told that they could not give us an accommodated room.
We made it work as we were only staying one night. My father did not shower. I kept wondering what would have happened if one or both of my parents had been in a wheelchair. The room we had would not have been acceptable.
Management did absolutely nothing to assist us in this matter. I was greatly disappointed with...
My wife and I tried to refrain from writing a review, due to its not favorable and felt the staff was nice. Unfortunately, our communication submitted via their website has gone with no response. We notified the front desk during checkout as well, whom was empathetic and explained that "our part of the hotel is not used often". That says it all by itself. Basically, we noticed and took photos of mold in the shower, layers of dust on top of the bed headboards and hanging pictures, dresser desk under the TV. Dirty carpet scent. We both have allergies, so this was unacceptable. We refrained from taking showers. Our teen daughter found in her rm a dried blood stain on the sheet. Both Mirrors and windows were dirty. Due to this being an overnight stay and had no time to find another room, we remained. These are issues that can be escalated and cause a lot of violation concerns, yet no response. I began to wipe the dust off and you will see a photo of the rag, along with the others. We are still seeking an adjustment on our room before disputing charges and escalating further. See "some" of the photos. I circle one headboard with red, to show where I wiped, compared to the rest of the headboard. RESPONSE TO OWNER. There's nowhere to rebuttal your response, but why would you make the mistake of trying to justify poor conditions? Without sharing our itinerary, we arrived into KY in enough time for our daughter and friend to change clothes and attend a concert that starts at 8:00pm. Your response, in itself speaks volumes. Poor judgement. We have not received any adjustment nor were we seeking more for the second room....
Read moreSo when we checked in everything went smooth we got our key and went to the room. After a long ride we wanted to get a shower. Took a shower just fine sat down and talked for a little bit and then we got tired so we laid down. About an hour later I was waking up to my wife scratching and itching and I was too. We are covered in hives, our backs, legs, arms, necks you name it we have red bumpy hives all over us.
So we figured hey maybe we need to take a shower again. Nope that just made it worse so we ended up calling the front desk. We asked if someone could come and change the bedding and we were told the cleaning staff has left for the day. But they did give us another room and it hasn't helped we are still itching like crazy we've taken Benadryl it's been well over an hour now we're probably switching hotels.
I stayed in a few hundred hotels and I have never ran across an issue where I'm broken out in hives and itching. Avoid at all costs I don't know if it's the bedding, the detergent they're using or something else. Just for the record neither of us have sensitive skin, we don't have a problem changing detergents, we've never run into this issue at home or anywhere else.
Now let's get on to other details. The hallways are extremely hot. You walk into the hallway and stand for a few minutes and you're sweating. It smells a little mildewy, the hallways look like they haven't been vacuumed in a while, the elevators reek of something I can't pinpoint exactly what it smells like. That in itself should have been a red flag but we were tired after a long trip and just wanted to shower and...
