If you're looking for something that doesn't need to be luxury, but something conservative it's a nice pick for under a $100. I paid only $76. I only stayed 1 night but I've had no problems. It was really quiet too, seems to me people here just like to be left alone anyhow. I rate for what it is, and how good it is within it's own standards. It was great for me. Check-in & check out was easy too. :) This is an update with more info: This is my 3rd visit & still the same. For those who are trying to know what's in a room at this price I am in a basic room & it has a microwave, mini fridge (decent size), a cute little coffee maker (be warned, their coffee packets are less than desirable), hair dryer, a telephone, air-conditioning, free wifi & ect. With several places nearby. Everything seems clean & comfortable. Beds feel firm, but fine.

I don't really know how to describe our stay. The front desk people were very friendly, and the location was perfect for where we needed to be. The rooms were one step up from awful. They were clean-ish, though obviously hadn't been vacuumed before our arrival. The bathrooms were not cleaned properly (hair in the shower, dirt on the floor), and bedroom rugs had dog hair on them. The room had a terrible wet dog, old cigarette smoke odor that never relented during the two nights we were there. The sheets were clean, but the blankets and bedspread were in desperate need of a wash. I have included a few pictures of the grime. We rented two rooms for two nights each and both rooms had significant issues. Before you stay here, ask to view the room you're assigned to make sure it is acceptable.

Honestly, I'm torn with this place. On one hand its clean, and nice obviously a fresh renovation! Its also in a very accessible spot with nearby amenities! This is where my joy here ended. After leaving at 6 a.m. I did not return until 9:30pm I worked during this period in 93+ degree heat, upon returning when my shift was over I found that they entered the room to shut off the ac (leaving the room to be 80+) i wouldn't have minded this except they couldn't bother making beds, swapping the used towels, or fixing the hand soap dispenser that leaked all over the floor! The man at the desk when asked to make change for the vending machine the guy had to be coerced to get off his phone, and do this small task!

I booked 3 rooms here for 2 nights stay in Hallstead because it was the closest place to where my Nanas funeral was being held in Susquehanna, PA. I paid and planned accordingly for family members from several places to gather with me here to begin our grieving process as we readied ourselves to say goodbye to our loved one. One of the most important things is to be clean and presentable for such services. Upon checking into this hotel we were warned that "The pipes had been worked on recently so the water may be brown. It is fine for showers but we do not recommend drinking it, you will have to go buy water to drink." To which I had replied "It's a very lucky thing we have some bottled water already." The property itself had no signage up to state that their water was not potable at this time. Also, in an instance such as this, there should be drinking water provided by the hotel free of charge. There were 9 of us in total in my rooms, plus my cousin Jim and his family had booked here at this same hotel as well. They were unfortunately dealing with the same issues. My significant other took the first shower, the water was indeed brown/rusty colored, and when he dried off, the towel was brown as well. He did not feel very clean. As the remainder of my family utilized the showers the water seemed to clear up abit. I took the last shower of the evening and was relieved to see the water run a bit clearer. The glass shower door though, it was not assembled properly at all, nothing was secured in place with screws or hardware as it should have been. I thought both doors were meant to move because they both moved freely. I had apparently closed the door that was meant to be stationery, so when I opened the shower to exit, that door suddenly fell inwards and onto my foot. I could barely catch it in time, it landed partially on my right big toe and it made a tiny ding on the shower wall as well. We addressed the issue about the door first thing in the morning. The excuse for the glass door not being assembled properly was that they were having upcoming renovations done soon and so they weren't worried about even the small ding the falling glass door had made. They promised not to charge a fee, especially considering the door fell on my foot, but I see an extra $50 charge on my card that needs to be addressed now. Every shower in our rooms had hair from previous people staying. Every air conditioner filter looked as if they've never been cleaned. My uncle made complaints about the cleanliness as he was having a worker help him by getting their 1 tv channel to finally work. The only amenities that were worth it was the location and the fact that there were real beds. Otherwise, we would have been better off at a campsite, which is unacceptable!!!! If I could, I would turn back the clock and make my reservation elsewhere. Since we obviously cannot time travel, a refund, at least a partial one, would be more appropriate...

My sister, best friend and myself stayed here due to my mother’s celebration of life and we wanted to be close to everything in town. The night my sister and I arrived and walked into the room it was a nightmare! Fecal matter on toilet and nothing but filth from ceiling to floor! I called the front desk person who told us that she was the night manager. I asked her to come to our room and look and to please bring cleaning products with her. She came to our room with a container of Clorox wipes and I asked if she could please leave the Clorox wipes and she told us that she couldn’t because she needed them for the front desk! She did not offer us another room and she took pictures to show the maid. We would have left but it was very late and it was raining so we stayed. The next morning we went and bought cleaning supplies and air fresheners and cleaned the room ourselves. The coffee pot was gross! It hadn’t been cleaned since the time of purchase! It had old coffee grinds still in it! I took it and showed the day manager and told her of the condition of our room. She did not care at all! We were called liars by the staff and they refused to give their names and the new owners name. We felt very unsafe there we had an aluminum stick to lock the sliding door and there was a nice big hole in the screen! The chain on the front door was broke! We had to ask for more of their ratty towels. The kitchenette was useless filthy and no pans or dishes! I’m not sure what’s going on in the hotel? But the sheriff was there due to an apparent altercation between tenants who actually live there that is what the day manager told us when I asked why the police officer was outside of our sliding door and we saw the sheriffs vehicle! This place is scary! This isn’t just a hotel for travelers! I would avoid this place like the plague! Be safe and find another place to stay!!!! Very dissatisfied and...

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!

I booked a room here several months in advance. The day of my reservation, I received a confirmation text. When we arrived, I was told that I didn't have a reservation, and there were no more rooms. I showed the person my receipt and he told me that it was a reservation for the correct place, but the website was wrong or something like that. He checked again and it appeared that my reservation had been canceled that day. I asked him how it could have gotten canceled since I didn't do it and I had even received a confirmation text earlier in the day. He said he couldn't have canceled it on his end so he didn't know what happened. I called the number on my supposedly incorrect receipt, and that person said that my room seemed to be confirmed on their end, so it was clear that the man at the hotel had canceled my reservation to accomodate a larger party. After a little bit of back and forth (the man on the phone calling the front desk, and then me again, proving that my receipt was in fact real), the person on the phone told me that he was very sorry but somehow my reservation had been canceled and they didn't have any rooms. He didn't offer to refund me- only to change my reservation to another night. When I explicitly asked for a refund (because staying there a different night would have been useless and wouldn't solve my problem of having nowhere to sleep that night), he said that he would try to do that insead. I was able to get a full refund, which I am grateful for, but I was very frustrated that my reservation was canceled because our room was given away and that they lied about it to cover what they did. The area and building were pretty sketchy already, but it was a very frustrating and...
