The young male staff member who was driving the white van pulling the kayak rack on 6/29/2020 ran straight over one of my personal kayaks that was waiting for my group to carry down the path to the boat ramp. We screamed and he did not stop, swerve or even acknowledge what he did. He left the facility to drive to the wildlife ramp. This was a neon green 10ft kayak and there is no way he did not see, feel, or hear the impact of running over the kayak. We were at the end of the ramp setting another kayak down and witnessed the whole thing. There was no one around to even talk to after this incident. I have rented from this facility and used their ramp many times but i will not be going back. UPDATE- 7/11 Really disappointed with the owner's response, complete lack of customerservice, and just plain rudeness. I would have definitely contacted you if I was given the chance to before you decided to post that this was "spam or bogus". I was not aware that I was supposed to be waiting around to respond to a review. After reading what you wrote I don't care to speak with you and also because of your response the group that I was with that day will now be leaving some more negative reviews with details since they witnessed the incident. They were not too happy to be considered liars alongside me. Maybe in the future you shouldn't jump to conclusions if you don't even have all the details. Seems you would have liked to actually talk to the customer before calling them a liar. So no I will not delete this 100% accurate review. Hopefully you can use this experience to do better for the...
Read moreI definitely enjoyed going on the tubing adventure! The river was slow and it took 5 1/2 hours to get from the start to the exit ramp. It was definitely a workout at times being connected to others in my party. The tube and cooler tube were great! My only complaint is that I purchased Water Shoes from the business well in advance and expected them to be there when I arrived and they were not. There were none in stock that fit my feet. I fell out the tube at one point and also swam and walked a bit and cut my foot. Water shoes are a MUST if you are getting out of the tube, which is more than likely going to happen at some point. There are rocks all throughout the river and it will be shallow one minute and deeper the next. I would have purchased and brought my own if I knew they weren’t going to be in stock. Yes, I did get reimbursed. But, NO this did not help me at all when I actually needed the shoes. So, 4 stars because your business led me to believe that I would have the water shoes that I paid in advance and were not available when I got there. I recommend that anyone going on this trip bring your own water shoes or shoes that will work inside the water because you cannot count on them being there even if you pay well in advance for them. Lastly, SUNSCREEN is a MUST! 1Million % recommend a high protection sunblock applied multiple times. Even though I applied it a few times (I only had brought water resistant 30 spf), I...
Read moreTubing with 3 adults and 2 kids (aged 6 and 10) was a fun time. Equipment provided was sturdy and safe. Check in process was a breeze. Kids were thrilled at the little turtles we spotted sunning themselves on protruding logs and boulders. It WAS pretty tricky getting 5 tubes (plus cooler tube) into the water due to rocky shore line and sudden drop off. With the very uneven, rocky entrance point (for tubers) it might be helpful to have a guide rope for patrons to hold on to to steady themselves as they step into the river, or a staff person stationed to assist folks. Parents of younger kids take note: The water current was slow moving, so kids were restless after first hour. (Total time on river for us was a little over 3 hrs). Unfortunately, the large rocks/boulders and submerged logs in the shallow areas throughout the river prevented us from allowing them to get off tubes for more than a few minutes to cool off. The adults in our group had some difficulty keeping their footing on rocky bottom as the current pulls you along as you work to keep tubes moving or to keep separated from other patron groups. Sudden areas of deep water made it hilarious for the adults getting back onto tubes though!! Next time we will bring a little paddle to help us keep moving! We will...
