Pleasant and pleasantly affordable cottages in Seaview, Washington, on the Long Beach Peninsula. Cottages are cozy and well-appointed with sufficient parking and ready access to thoroughfares to all the local attractions and businesses. The community is quiet at night, with only the gentle rumble of the nearby Pacific Ocean, which is only a short walk away. We have stayed here several times since the 1990s, in winter and summer, and it continues to be a safe, quiet, affordable motel!
The cottages feature carpeting in the sleeping area and either linoleum or wood composite entries. In-room heat is from an electric wall-mounted space heater controlled by a separate dial thermostat. The cottages are insulated and stay warm even on freezing nights. The windows open for summer breezes, too.
The beds are firm so may present a challenge for some sleeping long hours. Extra pillows are provided in the cottages for your convenience. The sheets and covers are nice and comfy.
The bathrooms run to the small side, with standard upright shower stalls. These are small cottages, so the small space should be no surprise. The water pressure is decent and the hot water sufficient for at least a standard-length shower. The towels are clean and reasonably fluffy. The bathrooms have sturdy well-mounted assistance bars.
In-room TVs are fed by local basic cable with a suitable range of channels, perfectly fine for a place to "lay your head".
The wireless internet service is good for at least basic internet, and is protected with wsa2-psk if you're curious. I did not perform a speed test, but the service seemed suitably snappy. The four major carriers provide ample wireless service, so mobile devices may not need the wifi service.
The proprietors are friendly folks who live on-site. There is at least one friendly welcome cat, which is always...
Read moreWe recently had the pleasure of staying at Seaview Cottages (Room #2). We enjoyed our stay immensely. Our room was beyond clean. Everything worked well -- good Wifi, mini fridge, microwave, TV. The king bed was very comfortable and the sheets seemed new. Plenty of towels (which also seemed fairly new). Check-in was seamless (2 minutes). No air conditioning but, even though it was a very warm day, our room was pleasant. The cool ocean breeze came in the evening and made sleeping delightful. The windows include a privacy shade (which still lets in some light) and a blackout shade. The shower is small but there was plenty of hot water.
The cottages are located in Seaview, WA. We found several good restaurants in the area although some are closed certain days of the week so make sure to check ahead if you are wanting a particular one. We can certainly recommend Galletti's Spaghetti if you are in the mood for Italian. There are lots of things to do in the area. You can visit the "world's longest beach" in Long Beach, WA (about 10 minutes drive). Also fun is the Cape Disappointment State Park (lots of great views and two lighthouses to explore). Check out the Willapa National Wildlife Refuge (but be sure to bring your mosquito repellent). Lastly, check out the Cranberry Museum in Long Beach and don't leave without trying their cranberry ice cream...
Read moreThis place is wonderful. Whoever answered the phone when I called to let them know we were running late checked us in remotely and was incredibly pleasant and helpful. The only staffer I spoke to in person, someone in housekeeping who gave me extra coffee, was equally kind and professional.
The cabins are adorable, with tiny little porches, and the grounds are cute and tidy. We stayed in off-season so didn't use any of the grills, but you can tell it'd be fantastic during the summer. The bed was lofty and clean and wonderful, the kitchenette had a remarkable amount of cookware, including a chef's knife and corkscrew. The wifi is super fast. The bathroom had a vaguely odd layout, and the cabin's floor had a noticeable tilt, but it all added to the charm. All the windows open, and they all have privacy shades. It seems there's usually a little restaurant onsite, but it was closed for reno when we were there.
These cabins allow pets, so I got barked at a few times, but I don't mind dogs. (Someone who does mind dogs might not feel comfortable, as you're likely to run into a couple.) They're right on a direct beach access road, so you can walk from your cabin straight to the ocean if you like, it's barely half a mile, or you can even drive onto the beach since vehicles are allowed.
Terrific place to stay on...
