Hyland Inn Van Nuys — Hotel in Los Angeles

If I could give this place a worse number than a one I would they're prejudice. By far I've never been treated horribly in my life. It should be very ashamed of himself the manager especially in front is a liar he sits there and lies and says that I am on a do not r e n t list which I've never been on in my life just because he doesn't want to do his job last night a little after midnight so he comes with this far fetched lie says that I was I rented a room back in January which I did not and that that's when I was put on that list and that he has a very sharp mind and he will remember he said I will let you stay here tonight then he approaches my friend not me my friend and tells him that he remembers now and it was back on January 10th that I stayed here I have no idea what he's talking about he's just making things up for whatever reason he is I've done many reviews but I've never been so sickened then I have been by this place I just can't believe the lies to come out of this man's mouth and he says I'm on a do not run list because he just didn't want to do his job last night and when I told him that he's being Prejudice and racist then he totally changed and all of a sudden was nice to me sorry not nice to me but he said okay you can stay the night but I don't remember why you're not allowed here I'm like what is wrong with this man so do not stay here if you choose to or if you want to stay at a cheaper nice hotel whatever do not stay here I repeat not to stay here horrible management...

I called first, arrived and paid for the room. I looked for the room without help from the from the front window (Indian guy), I walked into one of the most DISGUSTING , FILTHY places I've ever seen. Everything was crusty, old, and dirty. Air conditioner had layers of filth gathered on the supply fan, cigarette ashes, hair, etc that will literally cause a gag reflex. One of the pillows had strands of soggy dried up hair stretched across it. I can go into more detail, but I literally feel like I will vomit if I keep thinking about this place. I changed rooms THREE TIMES, without any satisfactory outcome. Every room was equally, if not more, disgusting. I couldn't stay there because I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep in that bed, or use anything there, so I asked for a refund, but was denied!! I felt like I was going crazy!! After at least 30 minutes of trying to reason with the guy and explain that I needed my refund he sarcastically and rudely refused. I contacted my credit card company immediately after I left and let them know about the transaction. After the transaction posted I was able to dispute the charge because I never received that service I was charged for and I received a refund. Long, stressful process. I am not exaggerating about this motel, it is truly disgusting. Do not recommend even if you no place to go. Sleep in your car or go to Denny's or another 24 hour restaurant. I'm positive you will regret...

I stayed at the Hyland Motel on 4/20/2016. I Walked into the room and killed two roaches within 2 minutes. Floor was dirty, walls were just plain filthy. There was water on the bathroom floor. The Window A/c unit didn't have knobs on it and was set to "FAN" Mode. There was a couch/chair in the corner with more stains on it than any other cushion chair I have ever seen in my life. I Put the bed Cover on the cadenza and started scouring for bed bugs. Didn't see one , but decided to sleep on the sheet, which I found one long hair on. I keep my clothes on and put T-shirts over the pillows. I kept my phone on me so I could use the flashlight to check for bedbugs every 30 minutes or so. Finally fell asleep for about an hour. Woke up and turned on the flashlight, "BINGO" bedbugs scattered ..I grabbed my stuff and slept the rest of the night in my car (NO LIE). And if you don't believe me, they have security cameras on the cars. I Went back in the room in the morning to shower (Another Horror story) and get dressed. I Informed the clerk about my stay and got the hell out of there! Don't even want my money back (Seriously)! Just couldn't believe there are still motel in this condition. Guess it's what I get for bargain hunting a 1 night stay! Never again, Not in this life,...
