Orchid Motel — Hotel in Los Angeles

Weird place. Went there to see how much a room for 1 week was and was told $400. Maybe a little high but not outrageous.

I asked to see the room and the manager (who came to the window in boxers and an undershirt) told me NO. I had to explain I'd still like to just look at it for a second if I'm going to be there for a week. He then said "no it's clean" and something else implying I'd get it dirty. I told him I wouldn't touch anything only peek my head in. He rudely told me no again and waved his hands as if I was dismissed...as I was already leaving.

There was not a single car parked in the lot even though it was late at night. Wonder why..

This is actually the second time I've stopped by the hotel to ask the same question and the previous time several months earlier I was told $460 which is way too much but also was greeted by I believe the same manager wearing just his boxer shorts and no shirt..who them promptly put one leg up on a stool or chair nearby which made him look totally insane and creepy no thanks to the weird look in his eye.

So I can only assume the management here is not ideal and the room was tiny or disgusting. If the room was decent and clean and worth $400 why wouldn't he let me see? Never been told no before and asked that question at maybe 10 other places.

Maybe it's good place with a handsoff manager who is too busy to put his clothes on or maybe he's the type to open your door and accuse you of breathing oxygen in the room. I have no clue but rather not take my...

My friend lives at what used to be the Orchard Motel, but now apartments for low income. One star because Path has taken over this apartment complex and are finding they are completely incapable of running this low income housing property.
