I went here after some people claim this to be the best fry fish in LA. I am not sure if I went on a bad day or time but I dont agree with the ones who referred. Service: 1st off i am a 1st time customer. I was charged for the wrong order and too tired to notice the error as other items was added to my request. I requested 20 pieces of fish and some how the cashier lady heard #35( 12 fish, med shrimps, jar of oysters...I don't like oysters so no way I would've ordered this). I called to inform them of the mistake but she was adamant that i said #35, I understand it's hard out here and you want to keep your job, but this is my 1st and last, I'm not arguing with nobody over food, I'm just going to leave a review. A cashier should clearify orders, not assume them because 35 don't sound like 20. The oriental man calling out the numbers and over seeing the workers (perhaps the owner)was nice, friendly and honest. Area: Located at the corner of imperial and Broadway. Fair parking. Handicap friendly. Next to a nicely stocked and clean liquor store. Newly remodel building. Area free of debris and odor. Lots of customers trafficking in and out. Customers wait in parking area for food as the inside of the restaurant is only standing room with limited space, no dine in. Food: Straight to it... the Fish was way too SALTY. It was a lingering salty taste like msg ( i do not know if MSG was actually used but it just taste similar as the flavor was very simple but over salted).Sole was cut very thin, golden colored fry, bite was crunchy but I got crispy greasy batter bite because filet was so thin. The Snapper was crispy on the outside, moist on the inside, nicely cut, perfect bite, and a few small bones was to be expected. The shrimp was fried hard, so hard my gums hurt, jaws are sore and the roof of my mouth is scratched up; I chewed 3 pieces hoping the next one would be better but they were all the same. The French fries was sad. I'm not sure what went wrong but the fries weren't crispy but taste and look burnt, perhaps the oil needed to be changed. The hush puppies was bland tasting, need more scallion and herbs, they had a nice crunchy outside. Lemon cake and socket to me cake was soft fluffy and taste fresh. The tarter sauce is a 10/10, it wasn't that packet stuff, it was homemade, enhanced the flavor of snapper and package in sauce containers. Nobody ate the oysters so can't say anything about taste but, they smelled good, nice golden color and large in size.

Overall, I could not feed my younger family the fish because of the salt content. The older family members refuse to eat the fish after tasting it, "too salty"(I did not mention anything to them just to see if it was just my taste buds ) and youngins' didn't eat the...

I've been to Imperial fish off Broadway and Imperial several times . More than 6 times most times during my lunch hour, noonish. The last 2 times I came after hours my fish was extremely salty. They do have a sign that says to let them know immediately if you're not satisfied. So the first time they over salted my food I chalked it up to maybe the seasoning salt that was obvious on the French fries got into the fish. Today I found out (from the older Latino lady) that you have to distinguish between 1. No salt, 2. Little salt or you get option 3. Regular, which is Salty AF . Which they don't have a sign letting you know. They definitely have signs telling you about EBT and refunds and what you not gonna get. I digress. Since this was the 2nd time they gave me Beyond salty fish and shrimp for $27 of my hard earned dollars. I couldn't let it go. They were nice when I brought it back to redue the order. But when the Latino lady starting lecturing me about not telling them I didn't want extra extra salty food. That the next I better tell them little salt and this would be the last time they'll replace my order. That is when I realized they don't respect the black dollar or health of its customers. So when I just asked for my money back a younger Asian male came out upset because I didn't want to eat a box of salt on my fish. (My heart is still racing from eating 1 piece of fish and 3 shrimps, wow the amount of salt ). He told me not to order from them again. Guest what ? I wasn't anyway. He did...

100% don't recommend what so ever. There was a day they had Maggots yes MAGGOTS falling into the cooking oil and the owner was made aware and still kept the shot open and used to the same oil to cook customers order for 3 whole days. Not only that they also have dead rats YES dead rats hanging from their air vents and they also do nothing about that. The employees there are extremely disrespectful and racist towards black people and also homophobic... Honestly I'm not sure why these people have such high demands with all that nasty stuff that they do. There's also a guy always wearing white that rarely uses gloves and cleans his forehead sweat with his bare hands and keeps cooking and touching customers food all day. I also over heard a employee saying there was poo marks in the floor where they work at and even like that they keep their store open. Not to mention employees are always high and drunk which makes it even harder to deal with because they get customers orders wrong and still blame it on customers... 2 years was enough for me to see all the disgusting things they do and I will not ever be going back there. This place honestly needs to be...

First time here and i will say they give the HEALTHIEST fillet portions I’ve seen in a looong time! BUT if you don’t order jumbo shrimp you’ll be pissed off. The regular shrimp are so tiny. Overall everything was seasoned well. Fried to perfection and my catfish was so juicy. I didn’t care for the fries but that’s just me I’m not a fry person. Hush puppies were good. Bread nice and soft! And the tartar sauce is definitely home made. Don’t forget to ask for extra hot sauce (THEY WILL ONLY GIVE YOU 1) and if you hate pickles (like me) don’t forget to tell them you don’t want them. 4 stars is for the small shrimp, pickles, and the 1 piece of a piece of a PIECE of lemon they gave me lol But i would recommend and be back.
