My initial experience at the layover was before being there. Alex was cordial, came off as nice and accommodating. Fast forward to me being there he came off as if I had too many opinions. Then Quickly pond me off to his ““ assistant “ It was very offputting when the other girls were still talking to him from the same number. I’m gonna give some bullet points to this place. 1. It smells like something is always burning inside of the pod. We think it used to be a garage, that was the conclusion between myself and at least three other girls. 2. The only thing appealing about this place are the pods. 3. Remember, even though it is a memory foam mattress it’s still hard because it’s on hard, But don’t tell Alex that he might take it as an insult. 4. We do think he has devices in there somewhere. We thought it was weird we be talking and then all of a sudden something that would be talking about would be there the next day or two. 5. It is a dangerous neighborhood. Don’t let him fool you. One of the other girls and I had some things thrown at our car and a crazy person hung out the window yelling at us because we wouldn’t let them cut us off. It was very scary. 6. That Iride that he likes to advertise does not not pick you up where it says it does it picks you up on Florence and Crenshaw. Which is a little bit of a walk at least 10 minutes. When you have a 5 AM Showtime and you have to be on the corner at four it is not the most comfortable place to be. That place is riddled with drug dealers and dogs. Two of the Iride drivers told me they don’t like picking up from right there. It is a very and spite of what everyone else is saying on here. They probably have cars. Which leads me to this next doozy 7. If you have a car, beware, One of the girls had her license plate stolen and she hadn’t even been there for a day. Someone else had the tailgate of his Tacoma literally taken off of The bed of his truck within one hour of him being there. So watch your cars. 8 When you walk to the convenience store, they’ll be people waiting for you begging for money and then they get rude. When you tell them you don’t carry cash. 9. Recently that when Alex was away, a lot of the girls would get drunk and be rude to the other girls so be careful of them. 10. It is not a Crash Pad. It is very uncomfortable. He has a big, bulky unnecessarily filled with junk food vending machine instead of what we suggested., Where there could be a couch or a small round table For us to sit and be comfortable at. 11. You have to rent extra space it is not given to you like like a traditional Crash Pad is and should be set up. 12. There is no TV so you do not get to just veg out when you get off long trip. 13. When I first got there, I was blamed for hair that was all over the bathroom and I had only spent two nights there. The man that complained about it showed us what he was talking about, and there was lots of hair all over the corner of the wall that looked like it had been there forever. It was very stressful to have gotten more than one text from Alex about the stupidest things. I wasn’t even there for a month And I could not wait to get out of there. I am not the only one that feels like this most people don’t say anything and I think that’s why he ended up not caring for me because nobody was saying anything. That’s how most people are. They just let things happen instead of making things happen. Don’t walk around there at night time or very early in the morning. It is not the safest place.. The people that don’t like it just don’t leave a review . 14. There is no washer and dryer that you can use on site. Very inconvenient. 15. God forbid you check in wrong, It’s the stupidest system ever, You’re going to be your own hotel, front desk clerk While you stay there. It’s extremely annoying, and I am not the only...
Read moreI’ve been staying at The Layover Club on and off for about three or four months now and have had a great experience overall. The space is thoughtfully designed, with a well-equipped kitchen where you can securely lock up your food when you leave. There is also free coffee, which is a nice bonus!
Each pod includes a comfortable queen bed that can be closed off for privacy and has optional white noise to ensure a quiet environment so you never hear anyone snoring.
The flexibility at The Layover Club is what I appreciate most. Some months, I’ve used the full monthly access, but since I’ve transferred, some months I switch to the nightly rate, which works perfectly for my schedule, especially when picking up trips out of LAX. The location is just a 20-minute drive to the airport, which is super convenient.
The place is kept tidy with a cleaner who comes regularly, which is a huge plus. Alex and Redina, who run the crash pad, along with their crew, have been super sweet and accommodating, always making sure everything runs smoothly.
I also love how easy it is to book online when I am coming into town.
So, whether you’re just stopping in for a night or using the monthly subscription in between trips, The Layover Club is a...
Read moreThe Layover Club has been such an amazing experience for me. It’s in a great safe neighborhood with neighbors saying hi to u. if u have a car there are plenty of parking. This crashpad has been very accommodating, the pods are big enough for 2 people to sleep in & there are fresh linens/blanket/towels for u there as well. There are 2 types of lockers for both clothes/essentials & food if u want to leave it there. The whole aesthetic is so chic & the place is clean. The common areas are perfect to really unwind & just have ur coffee in the mornings. I have a car so I don’t worry about transportation but I’ve seen the shuttle ‘iRide’ literally take people on the curb at the airport & I believe the walk back to the pad from the stop is 5 min. I enjoy it here because it makes my life easier. And I’ve met Alex,...
