Absolutely horrible experience. I’ve been a long standing customer with Rent-A-Rim, currently on my 5th account. I called four times last week to have my account transferred from the Hyde Park location to Inglewood due to the manager lying to me and being rude in the process. I guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
I came in today 10/27 at approximately 5:15 to discuss my account being transferred because the account was never transferred and no one returned my call as they said they would. The gentleman who helped me initially said the manager had to do it and he wasn’t in (That’s what I was told each of the four phone calls). Then he said the district manager had to do it. I asked for his name and number and was told they don’t give out the district managers name and number. I then asked could he call him and he hesitantly said yes. The guy walked out back then came in and said they don’t transfer accounts. While waiting, I witnessed Hector disrespect a customer in her face to the tire tech Alan who was on the phone. Funny I had my account transferred to that store. If you don’t transfer accounts, why wasn’t I told that the first phone call?
So I called two other stores to confirm his story while at the store. As I suspected, I was being lied to. Again. I was told by both stores I could transfer my account and was given the District Managers name in the process. While walking out to my car, I heard the dude mumble the N word under his breathe and both dudes cracked up laughing. Really? We doing that in this day and age? These are the people representing your company? I asked his name and he wouldn’t provide that. I asked the managers name and wouldn’t provide that either.
I opted to take the high road, especially after being called a racial slur and warn others to stay away. These people are unprofessional, disrespectful and clearly prejudiced. I will NEVER do business with this company again and will make sure I go through the proper channels to hold that young man without a name accountable. I don’t trust them with my money or...
Read moreThis location should be closed! So first of all I get called about an app I submitted for rims and tires for my Honda. Was told they had a bunch to choose from. I come down and they only had TWO choices in stock for 18 inch. I finally settle for some USED 18 rims and NEW tires. That night I get a piece of glass in my tire and need to get it fixed or replaced based on the warranty. Come to find out with a flat tire on 4th of July, I don’t have the wheel lock key they put on my tires. Today the 5th they open and I go in to get tire fixed or replaced. They don’t have a tire tech in. Secondly I ask them WHY I had two used tires, and was told they were actually ALL 4 USED?!?!?! However my contract stated they were NEW. I end up getting mad and going to the South Gate location and come to find out about all the lies this location told me. They also told me they were not allowed to put anything other then 17 or 18 inch rims. The other location said they put 20’s on my car all day everyday. And they are allowed to per company policy. Crenshaw told me they couldn’t. They also charged me $700 for some used rims with scratches and 1 bend wheel. South Gate told me I way over paid and showed me a ton or used rims they had for $500 for a full set that was in excellent condition. Come to find out when talking with South Gate don’t don’t send anyone to this location because of all the issues they have with this store. You have been warned! They sell you used junk and charge you new prices. Oh....and the South Gate store informs me that I’m paying way to much per month for what they sold me at Crenshaw. Read moreTerrible customer service, I waited in the store for over two hours waiting on a tire installation tech. Once she arrived to the location she came in very nonchalant eating and sitting behind the desk as if she was not at work.
Once I told Jeron I was leaving because I had waited a very long time for service, he was very understandable and apologetic. The tire tech on the other hand thought it was funny I had wasted my time waiting for her to return.
I was recommended to go to the store on Manchester after Jeron called the store and told them i was coming for an install.
Once I got to the location I was told by Daniel they were short staffed and they would not be able to complete the installation.
Daniel said he would call me the following day with an update. I never received a call from Daniel so I called into the store and he still did not have any information available.
Daniel calls me back and says it’s $2,500 for a set of used rims and tires that were originally $950 for the set. I was then told I would be charged for installation and other fees associated with the installation of the wheels $1700.00.
