The receptionist was very unprofessional & rude. I booked a room for 09/01/22 and due to traveling, we attempted to check in on 09/02/22. When my significant other went to check in she said the room wasn’t ready and no one could go in because of no access.
She told my significant other that she had to wait for someone else to get there. Even though the room was booked for the night before, the room wasn’t ready. My significant other was there at 9 am on 09/02/22 and The guy didn’t come until 10:40 am and checkout was at 11:00am. We ended up paying $40 for late checkout due to staff negligence. On top of all of this she was rude and nasty. She told him that she was not obligating him to stay there and he can leave. The room was paid and the reservation was as for the night before, why would he leave when he has every right to be in the room that was already paid for.
As my significant other was waiting for the room, another customer that was already at the hotel got his car towed while being in the hotels parking lot. He approached the same receptionist, asking for details as to where to go and who to call, and asking for the name of the tow company and she just walked away without apologizing to him or letting him know whether or not she was going to get help… this girl just walked away.
Disgusting behavior. The receptionist needs to be retrained or actually trained on basic human skills and I’m not even going to go into customer service skills because this goes beyond that. Terrible person to be at the front line of this hotel. My significant other is a first responder, as he’s an LAPD officer and was treated so terrible by this person, imagine how a regular civilian would be treated. There were at least 5-6 other encounters with other customers staying at the hotel and all were completely dissatisfied after talking to the receptionist.
With all of that being said save yourself the hassle, the frustration and dealing with someone who lacks the minimum human skills. Pay the extra $50 and stay at a different hotel $180 a night for this place is not worth it. The Hilton is about $200-$220 and it’s...
Read moreThis will be my last Motel / Hotel review on my Road Trip, as my next night or 2, will be spent at a friend's house.
Now to be honest, I was reluctant to come to a Travelodge, as my last experience with one years ago, was very disappointing.
But, since the LA area is so expensive, I was pleased to find a place at a modest price.
When I called this morning to make a reservation for tonight, along with an early check-in, the clerk that I spoke to was very accommodating.
And, when I arrived a few minutes before 1 p.m., she was still there, which made everything easier. I had to wait a few minutes for my room to be ready. But, with the very comfortable lounge area off the lobby, I had no problem with that. And, it wasn't more than 3 minutes, when she called me back to the desk to finish checking me in.
Upon walking into my room, I was pleasantly surprised to see how spacious it is. As well as looking very clean.
Techies would love it here, as there are plenty of outlets to charge all your devices at the same time.
Well, I did have to downgrade the place a bit, as the door is quite thin, and the housekeeping cart and loud voices were very noticeable.
And, while there were a couple of sketchy people around, they didn't bother anyone.
The bed may be a bit soft for some. But, for me, it was nice and comfortable.
Now, the parking lot is lit up like Time Square on News Eve. But, between the room darkening shades, and the shutters, the room is cast in a soft glow.
The breakfast area was huge! Maybe 30' x 40' + the breakfast lounge area.
But, besides waffles, it's a typical...
Read moreGave 1 star because you have to rate to leave review: The rooms are nothing like they advertise on their website there were roaches in our room crawling on our stuff crawling on the walls and sink, the rooms need a major upgrade and serious pest control service. Rooms look more like they are rented out for everyday living and not business travel or vacation stay, it’s very unfortunate when you are traveling and have been on the road for hours and these are the conditions of the rooms you are paying to stay in. When we finally had a chance to inform the front lobby the next morning since no one is available from 11:00 pm to 9:00 am and show them pictures and video I took of the roaches and let them know we were canceling our reservation the manager would not come out of her office to speak with us she had the man at the front desk comunícate with us which I will say the two men that were there were very helpful. We were told we would not be charged for the one night or our reservation and that our money would be credited back on to our credit card. It has been a week and they never refunded the money back, I have since contacted them again and agreed to at least pay for the one night and again was told they would credit back our money and just be charged the one night stay and still nothing has been done. I have now had to call my credit card company to dispute this charge, this has been the worst hotel we have ever stayed in and will never be staying at another Travelodge or recommending it to family or friends after this experience. Do...
