Drury hotels is my preference typically, however my most recent experience at this property has totally changed my perspective. Unfortunately, I left several items of clothing in the closet upon my check out. I realize, wholeheartedly that it was totally my responsibility to make certain that I had all my possessions before checking out. My responsibility. 100% However, due to poor time management, I rushed to check out and left several clothing items in the closet. I initially was handling the possible recovery of my items with a highly professional employee named Pam, who was patient and professional and EXTREMELY accommodating. After having no luck with housekeeping, Pam and I agreed that she would do a lock audit to see who went in the room after my check out. I called back to discuss what the lock audit possibly revealed, as we had planned, and was assisted by GM DAVID NOBERS, who was totally unprofessional and confrontational. He consistently spoke over me and had no desire to hear me out until I brought it to his attention about his rude and unprofessional disposition. I was totally surprised to be treated to like this by such a high level employee. Especially since Pam and I had many conversations and it never rose to this level; however, just the contrary, again, Pam was professional and warm. DAVID NOBERS was quite the opposite. I was very shocked and disappointed to have such an exchange with a General Manager. NOBERS thought it was more important to go on and on about other items that had been recovered by staff and returned in the past, than to show some empathy for my items being lost. No empathy WHAT SO EVER. Now again,it was my responsibility to make certain that I collected my things and when you leave your items somewhere the consequences of someone taking them is a possibility. I get that. And the fact that my items weren't recovered was not my biggest disappointment. I mean it happens. But to treated unprofessionally and to be talked over and met with a confrontational GM was a total surprise to me. And even when I got frustrated and said, " all I know is that someone on your staff has my items, bottomline", GM DAVID NOBERS barked back, "well thats your bottom line".. who talks like that to a faithful, or unfaithful, for that matter, but a faithful client of your establishment? DAVID NOBERS that's who! Terrible experience. I initially recommended this property to all my family, because it's lovely and perfectly located amongst great shopping and lovely restaurants. But I will be rescinding my recommendation. GM DAVID NOBERS, needs training, possibly from Pam, because SHE GETS IT. NOBERS is terrible. I am very disappointed with what I experienced at this property. Bottomline my items were not recovered and I received a very disingenuous apology from GM DAVID NOBERS AFTER I expressed my disappointment, not that my items weren't recovered, but sorely disappointed in how I was treated by GM DAVID NOBERS. Read moreRecently stayed here over T-Day weekend. First impressions were great. Clean property, friendly staff. The staff will go out of their way to make sure you're happy and have a pleasant experience. The hotel is pet-friendly and I witnessed a staff member gush over a few dogs.
The Kickback was really great, typical hotel food but was really nice as I sat, eating a light snack as the other members of my party were "arguing" over where to eat out. The free soda and cheap $.75 mixed drinks (KY law that the hotel has to charge for alcohol) were an added bonus.
The room itself was clean and had all the modern things you expected a 21st century hotel to have....lots of outlets for electronics, alarm clock with AUX port (bring a cable if you want to use it!). They cut corners on the "unnecessary" things. Like little bottles of shampoo and conditioner. But they do provide those things, just in a dispenser in the shower...which is a good cost cutting idea if you think about it. I just wished they provided hand lotion as I have dry skin. But I'm not really complaining about that, just saying if you want lotion, bring some from home. They definitely DON'T cut corners when it comes to service!
The breakfast was typical fare you expect from a hotel. They do have organic granola and fresh fruit. I don't have any food sensitives, so I thought breakfast was good. The manager was walking around the breakfast area (on Thanksgiving Day!) to make sure everything ran smoothly and guests were happy.
There's a Kroger and gas station across the street for anything you might have forgotten. The hotel is kind of in a shopping complex as well. There's a Starbucks within the complex as well :) The location is also really close to the freeway for easy access.
My only gripe is the bathroom fan isn't very strong. We took several warm (not hot) showers and our room was like Miami all weekend long. We turned the heat on, A/C on...nothing dried the room out. We couldn't open the room windows. I actually spent a fair amount of time reading in the lobby just to not be in the room. Inconvenient when I wanted relax. Not sure if it was just our room or what.
If you're looking for a dog friendly and inexpensive hotel with the little extra specials, I really recommend...

My husband and I made a trip to Louisville for our anniversary trip and chose to stay at this location. This is our 3rd Drury Inn and Suites visit, staying at 2 others in PA.
I cannot say enough about this hotel. For starters, in this specific location the design and color/print choices are outstanding! I love the deep wood color and purple/tangerine! The light fixture is gorgeous and can be taken in from different levels and angles, above your head or while riding up the glass elevator.
Soda, coffee, tea and popcorn offered all day downstairs.
Once in the room is where you can just relax. Comfy, clean beds, chair next to a lamp for reading, office area, fridge, microwave, coffee maker. Great art work that highlights Louisville on the walls. Full size closet with iron/board. Bathrooms have full size body wash, shampoo and conditioner and hairdryer. Holy Bible in the drawer.
Compared to other hotels, this part is the highlight. They have what is called a kickback dinner buffet that most would think would be on the lighter side, but this dinner will fill you up! For the kids or anybody who enjoys a faster pick up meal, they have hot dogs and chicken fingers. Salad and soup, nachos and cheese, baked potato bar. There is also a dinner of the day. This time around it was Chicken Alfredo freshly made. There’s also usually a really good fresh veggie. At this location, you pay one dollar and you can get up to three alcohol drinks from their menu. The workers are absolutely amazing, polite, and welcoming.
After a great night’s sleep, you come downstairs for a full breakfast, freshly made, lots to choose from. Not one person can say that they didn’t leave full when it comes to this hotel.
The hotel also offers some nice amenities. A workout gym, and a very unique swimming pool. You can swim from the inside to the outside. Conference rooms and a market pantry to purchase food items for your room anytime of day.
Will definitely be returning!
Extra notes: Free parking on the premises, free Wi-Fi, free breakfast.
