Staying here while working at KTP.
Pros:
The staff is super friendly and welcoming. 10/10 service. Close to shopping and restaurants. The hotel sits behind a large shopping plaza/mall/whatever you call it. I look forward to some shopping after work today. The hotel is clean. Comfortable bed. The matress is firmer than I'd like but I didn't wake up with back pain. Nice pool and fitness area. The fitness area has a bench and a bunch of free weights.
Cons & neutral:
The place could use some fixing. It appears that there has been some water damage in my room (1st floor). The bottom of the bathroom door is bubbling out. So is the mirror frame at the desk. All of the non stainless metal (bottom of the closet mirrors and bathroom door hinges) is rusting. The mini fridge makes a terrible noise but I fixed that by pushing it up against the wall. I find it odd that they charge extra for breakfast. I travel all over the place for work and this is the first time I've experienced this. The breakfast is bland. I understand why they do that though. I'd rather add some extra salt & pepper than be served something that has been over seasoned. The "restaurant" is only open from 5-10pm. I haven't checked it out yet but calling it a restaurant seems to be stretching it. Maybe it'll surprise me though. When checking in, I was told they are not currently doing daily room service. Which is totally fine by me as I always put out the "do not disturb" sign and request to not be bothered. The reason is because of the pandemic. They have to protect their staff and customers as much as they can. You can request housekeeping though.
Overall, I would stay here again. It's close to the jobsite and the friendliness of the staff certainly makes me overlook the...
Read moreDisgusting and rude! We stayed with our son’s hockey team. When we arrived I wanted to go straight to bed. The bedding was disgusting! Definitely not washed. Little black hairs all over the quilt, top sheep and fitted sheet. They were wrinkly and stained. Pillows had stains and makeup on them. My husband called front desk and requested a change, they said they were short staffed and he would have to come down to get the sheets and do it himself. Our teammate had to switch rooms 4 times due to bed bugs. 1st room come to find out was right next to ours. We should’ve been alerted and moved! We then found dead bed bugs all over where our sons were sleeping. They chose to do nothing. My son went down to ask for 5 towels and the front desk guy said, “Jesus Christ”! What a way to talk to a 13 year old! The extremely over priced breakfast was beyond disgusting! This was the rudest and dirtiest place we’ve stayed in and we stay in a lot for both our boys travel hockey and baseball teams. I will never let our teams select a Hilton...
Read moreThe only thing stopping me from leaving a 5-star review is how we were being rushed out of our room on the day of check-out by seemingly every staff member in the building. We requested, and were granted, a late check-out time of 1 p.m. because we had a late flight that day. Our son has autism and we wanted to avoid making him sit in the airport terminal for several hours.
Housekeeping knocked on our door twice before 11 a.m., and shortly after, a staff member decided to open our door without knocking. This was alarming and pretty invasive. I guess we're lucky that neither my wife nor teenage daughter were undressed at the time. Our room keys were deactivated before we checked out. The grumpy front desk manager then called our room at 12:50 p.m. and asked why we were still there. This is a man who clearly does not enjoy working in his chosen field.
Other than that, the rooms were exceptionally clean and the server for the lobby breakfast was especially pleasant...
