First, I guess to be fair, the advertising for this hotel was not entirely accurate when it came to the breakfast. It’s not accurate to say it was a “continental” breakfast it was a full breakfast with hot things like eggs and sausage in addition to the waffles.
That, and the pool (which my wife said was wonderful) were about the only thing that was good about this place. Basically I had a lot of little annoying things occur that, taken on their own, aren’t that big of a deal but all together made it a disappointment to stay here.
The first thing was when we checked in, there were signs posted everywhere saying “due to unforeseen circumstances” some maintenance needed to be done “starting September 18th”, and that because of this, hot water would be “limited” from 8 AM to 3 PM. And indeed it was, really not any during those times as my brother found out when he dared to take a shower at 8:10.
Ok, but first of all, don’t you have an idea of when this “limit” on hot water will be resolved? This was my first mental question when I saw that sign. Second, why make it “8 AM” when you cut off the hot water? Why not 9 or 10? You know, to give people time to sleep in on their vacation? Especially since obviously time isn’t of the essence in that particular “maintenance” project since you couldn’t give an end date apparently.
That was one annoying thing that plagued the whole weekend I was there. The next thing that only affected my first morning after checking in was the fact that when I got to breakfast, at 8 AM mind you (because again I had to wake up as if I were on a work schedule, to get hot water for my shower), when I got to breakfast I was told “sorry, there are no more plates”.
Really? You couldn’t manage the plate usage well enough to realize “hey, maybe it’s time we ordered some more we’re down to only 10 here and it’s only Thursday” or whatever day it is that you take stock of your supplies. Also, you couldn’t be bothered, knowing you were running low for whatever mismanaged reason, to run out to the local Safeway and buy a stack of disposable plates? It was after all a Friday morning not like a Sunday night or whatever when places wouldn’t have been open. I guess this was finally done because the next morning (Saturday) they did have plates. But they were different than the bowls so clearly something replaced at the last minute. And speaking of the bowls which I was forced to use for breakfast that Friday morning they were tiny just big enough for a cereal. But the eggs I put in there went all over the place no matter how careful I was to eat with the floppy fork and knife made of the most bendable plastic as to be like rubber bands. A lovely dining experience.
Friday morning we realized we ran out of the body wash (now in the large dispensers like all establishments now to get away from the individual sized soaps/shampoos). We called the front desk to ask them to refill the bottle. When we came back Friday evening they just took the empty bottle and gave us two individual sized body washes. Those got used up by Saturday morning but at this point I wanted to test and see if they would replace them or what. Well you guessed it when we came back Saturday evening nothing replaced just simply no body wash.
You see what I’m saying right? Little annoying things most people wouldn’t bother writing a review about on their own. But they all added up to be annoying in general. Now though what really inspired me to write this review (and give the stars I did) was not only what I wrote above, but just today I checked my credit card and saw a charge for $16.99. I called the hotel to ask what it is about and (after being on hold for 10 minutes by the way, which is common even though there’s never any people they are helping AT the front desk that I’ve ever seen) after I finally got through they told me “that’s a local retail charge”. I asked why it wasn’t part of the price I paid they put me on hold again, 10 min later came back and hung up before I could ask for a receipt (which...

This was a disaster from check-in to check-out.||From a room INFESTED WITH ANTS to empty soda bottles under the bed, dirty bedside tables, credenzas and desks.||Upon an unwelcoming check-in and going to my room, I went to the front desk to let them know immediately and showed pictures, she said that they would take care of it the following day. After waking up to my dog bowl being INFESTED with ants and my dog BEING BITTEN BY ANTS ALL OVER (which I have photos of as well)… to a TV that you could not adjust the volume on or change the channel, then getting moved to a room that you could not adjust the air on, taking a shower with no hot water at 8:30 AM, I won’t even go into having coffee available or breakfast the next morning because it was pretty meek, stale, or nonexistent at 8:00 AM. Then, upon check out after being reassured that I’d be getting my deposits back, I am still waiting. Plus I am getting more charges on my account after a week of checking out….||After trying to discuss the issues with the manager reaching out after I completed my very disgruntled survey that they persistently kept sending, she asked that I call her. Instead of telling me, she was the only one there and would need to call me back, she proceeded to put me on hold over five different times, breaking up the discussion and details of my stay and over talking me the whole time.||After she assured me my deposits were released, I had to call her the next day telling her that more money is being taken out of my bank account. ||Being extremely frustrated, although never cursing at her, she tells me “I need to calm dow”…..calm down? I would love to see her “calm down” if she had the same experience, and was still dealing with the aftermath of such a disastrous stay. I am still waiting on my money while my dog is itching from ant bites and my bank account keeps getting hit with charges ….. I don’t think anybody would be ok with a situation like this. After a 7 day stay with this hotel. This is not acceptable or professional.||After she continued to over-talk me and said she would be forwarding our calls to corporate (which should absolutely be forwarded because they need to hear ALL of them) she hung up on me. Needless to say, I will never be staying here again, and will be making sure to let everybody know the situation and experience I had there. I was not going to put a bad review or post photos but the last call with the manager and her hanging up on me was the last straw with this place.||*As I add these pictures I now just noticed all the dog hair that was never cleaned prior to my stay along the base board.||I purposely left the infested dog bowl with food there and told the front desk I was doing so, so they could identify the trail and area where they were coming in, which the manager told me they couldn’t figure out where they were coming from when talking with her?? That’s exactly why I left the bowl so they could take care of it at the exact point and get them gone for future guests! I’m going to guess somebody else’s dog is itching up a storm with ant bits as well…....
Read moreThe hotel wasn’t that bad, but the manager is a nightmare to deal with. Be leery about the charges on your card and double check everything! Needed a place to stay for one night on Friday, June 14. The room was booked and paid for in full. The reservation was for 3 PM. When I got there at 5 PM I was told the room was not ready yet because they were shortstaffed and the room had not been cleaned. Because I was in a gigantic U-Haul I couldn’t really go anywhere else to hang out? There was a guest before me that said she waited two hours for her room to be ready. Another hotel guest was kind enough to let me into the pool area where I spent the next hour or so waiting. The pool was ok, but was a little murky. The hot tub was warm, but not super hot. When my room was finally ready. I went up to the desk to check in. Because I got to the Hotel first before my sister who booked and paid for the room, the manager, Megan, said she needed a card for incidentals. She assured me I would only be charged $50 and then it would go away. At the time I didn’t think much of it? The rooms were nice and clean, but again, the hot water did not work in the sink or the shower. It got lukewarm at best. The next morning when we checked out, we asked for a receipt and they gave us our reservation receipt for La Quinta in Lincoln, Nebraska, which is where we are going to be staying in the next night? we should’ve addressed the issue then! Back at home, on Monday night, I noticed that there was a $50 charge and another charge of $120 some dollars? On Tuesday morning, the $50 charge had gone away, but there was suddenly a $168.27 charge on my card!? I tried calling the place all morning and even called corporate to try and get help with this matter, no one could seem to rectify the situation. I kept calling back all morning and finally got the manager, Megan, around 12:30? She had me send her an email of the receipt that my sister paid for. She remembered me, but told me that she couldn’t refund my money because the other credit card was not on file, even though the room was paid for in full before we got there? We went back-and-forth and then she told me that my sister who prepaid for the Room had to speak with her instead of me (which makes no sense). Eventually, she hung up on me and then would not accept my call backs. And even when my sister tried calling her back, she refused to speak to her and had the front desk person hang up on her. Very unprofessional! And when I read past reviews, it seems that this is something that Megan does often. Charges are made to your card that we’re not authorized and when it’s time to refund them, it takes a while for her to get around to doing it. Be very careful and leary if you check into this hotel. I wonder if the owners of this location know how Megan runs this place? Apparently, she had the front desk girl tell my sister that I was no longer welcome at that location, ever again. Trust me, because of Megan I would never want to stay there again, even if I did come back...
