We showed up at the hotel on our way home from my son's parent weekend at college. I was debating until just two nights before where to stay. His college is 3 hours from home, but after a long day with him we figured best to stay at a hotel. Since we are Marriott Rewards members and have been for 6 years, I was looking online to decide where we should stay. On one side of the highway was a Courtyard, on the other this TownePlace Suites with a complimentary breakfast. Why not just take advantage of that. We got the the hotel around 7pm, close by there was a place to eat that looked interesting so got sandwiches and soup to go. When we walked it, the new carpet smell was like perfume. Like when you get a new car and wish that smell never went away. When talking to the very pleasant check in lady, we find out the hotel has only been open 3 days! We walked around the lobby to check it out. There is a 24 hour coffee/ hot water bar. Large tables for families to sit in. Booths with TV's in them so everyone can watch their own channel. Once in the room the surprises did not end. There was the coolest closet I have ever seen in a hotel room. White shelving like what you would find at the container store which you could adjust what ever way you needed. The desk/table had the coolest lamp you could just plug in your USB port. There was hutch above( why did no one think of that before) with lots of cubbies. And a pull out table on rollers that sat under. The chair was an office type comfortable chair and there was the neatest wooden tray shaped like a U that you could use in bed to write or eat. There was a small kitchen with a good size refrigerator. The next morning we got up to have breakfast before heading home and in the breakfast area there were real bowls for the cereal and oatmeal, and they were the brightest happiest red color, and perfect size. After having, oatmeal, a waffle and some yogurt, of course can't leave out the orange juice and coffee, we checked out and drove the 2 hours left to get home. I was sad to leave, since they are pet friendly they also had a jar with doggy treats at the check in counter. I had to get 2 for my doggies waiting at home. I am so glad we stopped there, my son is a freshman, so we have 3 1/2 years of traveling up and down that road and I can't wait to stay...
Read moreIt's my 2nd time staying at Towneplace suites in almost a month. 1st one was for over a week from july to aug 6 at TownePlace Suites Orlando at Flamingo Crossings/Western Entrance next to Disney. Which was really excellent and made me book again with Marriott Towneplace suites. it has everything you need, the only complain compared to the one in orlando, beds in PA were not comfy, indoor pool was small and noisy when less than 10 people in it. there is no jacuzzi. wish they can build outdoor pool that way they solve the problem. the place is very quiet and beautiful. Area being built new and more business will be opening there soon. It is about half hour away from hershey. Please read my review below about towneplace suites in orlando, that way you get an idea. It was my 1st time staying for over a week at TownePlace Suites Orlando at Flamingo Crossings/Western Entrance. The place is quiet, very clean, big pool with jacuzzi spacious with plenty of parkings and friendly staff. I booked 2 Rooms for my family. rooms were excellent with full kitchen if you wanna prepare meals or if you wanna do BBQ next to the pool or on the other side of the hotel next to the field. King Beds were so comfy honestly and clean with sofa bed and big desk with plenty of storage all over. the pool came excellent after a long day at Disney to come back and relax, specially if you suffer from backpain like me and needed to swim alittle to relief the pain or sit in the jacuzzi. And for those who like the Gym there is a big Gym area to workout. Finally before I book I read most reviews and so many complained about the free breakfast that too crowded or close early or not much varieties! Well you cannot have breakfast at 12! or after unless you in your own house, there was plenty of food and fruits were bananas/apples and oranges, they just close around 10. I would definitely go back to this hotel when I visit again. P.S: I end up booking again at another TownePlace Suites Harrisburg West/Mechanicsburg location in PA when I visted Hershey Park a month later. Almost the same but beds were not comfy and indoor pool was small and need few people to become crowded and noisy. about half hour away from Hershey park but very quiet area and everything...
Read moreIt's a really nice place, I have been facing some issues with certain staff member and well as my family. I currently on a project and being on this extended stay, my family as come to stay with me on weekends throughout the months. My wife took our son to the pool and in the pool was a staff member with his two children which is ok. I can not say or suggest that staff couldn't enjoy the facilities as well as the guest. The problem my wife came across was that this staff member seemed to keep himself and his kids away from my son. My son only four years old and just wanted to play with the other children but what my wife assumed was since we are Spanish they did not want him around to play or part take in the facility. I have had my run in with particular staff member. I repeatedly greet this individual even extended my hand to suggest a hand sake. He continued to ignore me and disregard me as a person let alone a guest. I hate to think that racism exists but I have witnessed this individual interact with other suggest of the same guests. It leaves me to believe that he is not keen to people of color. I have asked for help and seem not to receive it from the individual. I'm a kind person I have even bought pies of pizza and many treats for the staff at Towneplace. Everyone else are super nice front desk management but this individual is not. How can I make a person feel different about how the really feel about Latinos, should be effortless but this stubborn man won't budge at all. Maybe this individual should not be working in this field were he has to interact with people certainly not wonderful place like Towneplace suites. People that work in building maintenance field are a dime a dozen Towneplace should hire someone that knows how to treat all people regardless of the color of there skin that same way. I hope I don't have anymore run ins with this individual at this point he should either think twice about his action or just simply stay away from everyone. Beside that Towneplace is a wonderful place to stay, the other staff members are great and I commend them for there efforts and hard work to keep Towneplace a great place to...
