August of 2018 decided to redo my bedroom I have never had a matching bedroom set, my bedroom was always mismatched and I decided I was finally going to splurge. so a friend took me to South Florida Furniture Direct the gentleman that I dealt with, Joe, he wasn't rude or anything but he wasn't overly friendly either but that isn't a requirement to sell furniture but I think it helps. After looking through some books for I don't know maybe a half an hour or so I found something that I was interested in, I picked something called BayStorm, one of the things that I really liked about the headboard was it had a light in it, I like to read in bed at night and I thought that that would be a wonderful thing to have. So after choosing the king size bed frame, mattress, and a nightstand that all matches I was very pleased with my choice. Now Joe did inform me that it would probably take a 2-4 weeks for things to be delivered because it was coming from some Factory somewhere else, because he told me right from the start that that would be the case I completely understood and I'm a patient person so I was fine with that. I was also told that on the day of delivery the people that delivered the furniture would set it all up, remove and take all the garbage with them, and clean up after themselves. Sounded wonderful so I paid for my purchase and left and was happy to wait for to be delivered. That was August 25th 2018. I received notice the week of Sept 3rd that my furniture would be delivered on the 8th two weeks to the day almost, I was very excited very happy, I had to hustle to get rid of my old bed and furniture and ended up getting a lot less then I wanted because I had to get rid of it quickly. While waiting for the delivery I get another notice saying that actually the furniture will not be delivered on the 8th, I believe it was because they didn't receive everything from the factory, rescheduled for the next Thursday September 13th. I was a little frustrated because now I had been sleeping on the floor for a couple nights. The delivery guys did show up on Thursday the 13th I believe it was around 7ish. In appreciation of having it delivered so late I paid for a pizza for the delivery guys (plus a very generous tip) Once they were done the lead delivery guy called me into the bedroom where every thing was set up. I just stood in the doorway and said thank you very much all looks great! After they left I went to go make the bed and this is what I seen. (pictures uploaded I hope) There were very large gaps all around the bed, except on the side that you see from the doorway, you could look straight down into the drawers. I was devastated. Worried to death that my pets would get caught somewhere in some of the gaps I ran out quickly to catch the delivery guys but they were already gone but what I seen outside just left me furious , they had left ALL the cardboard and garbage in my apartments small little dumpster out front. Our garbage runs on Thursday, so the dumpster was empty that morning but when I went out to catch the delivery guys it was crammed full. You seriously could not stuff one more thing in there. (My landlord was not happy and told me the next morning, I had until the end of the day Friday to fix it.) So back inside I went and just kept walking around the bed thinking what am i gonna do ? I was so upset and at this time I also realized that the headboard light was not working correctly. I seriously just sat down and cried. I know silly to cry over a bed but it was more than that to me. I contacted Joe that same night or early the next day and voiced my concerns. WILL NOT LET ME POST MY COMPLETE REVIEW FIGURES!! Read moreBeware! I found this company looking to furnish my master bedroom. The warehouse was a mess with furniture displaced everywhere. They seemed to have good prices which lead me to believe it was just a busy company. I placed my original order on July 15th. which I specifically order solid wood furniture- which was made clear to the sales associate. I was promised to have the furniture delivered three weeks later. ONE MONTH LATER I called to find out my furniture was place on a extended back order and told I should come in to pick a different set because the one I originally chose was not available. I was out of town on business so my girlfriend went in to choose a different set. Three weeks later when I finally received the furniture, it was a particle board set- which was very flimsy and not what I wanted. When I called to complain about the quality I was told that it was an equal value set to my previous order (a complete wood set) and it was the highest quality particle board ashley furniture makes. ... When I finally knew that I was not receiving any kind of refund or exchange, I decided to put the set together. That's when I realized I was sent the WRONG foot board for the bed. When I called once again to let them know, they told me the proper foot board would be ordered and here in a week.. when that foot board arrived at their warehouse, IT WAS THE WRONG COLOR. So I had to wait and additional week 1/2 for the correct foot board to arrive. .. FINALLY once the piece arrived, I was told to meet the sales associate somewhere so he could fit it into my compact car?? REALLY? When I asked if they would deliver it, I was told that it was not their problem and they are not going to pay the delivery fee. CUSTOMER SERVICE????? I was finally able to convince them to deliver my foot board during another delivery that just to happened to be in my area. .. 2 weeks LATE! South FL Furniture direct truly believed none of this was their problem and customer service was completely disregarded. Ordering from this company was one of the biggest mistakes I have made, and one of the dumbest investments. I highly suggest you do not deal with this company in any way, they do not care about their customers- all they want is your money in their pocket...
Read moreFrankly, I do not understand the many 4 and 5 star reviews. My wife and I had been shopping for furniture and with hopes to view a broader range of items before purchasing we called South Florida Furniture and asked if they have leather sectionals, being told "yes we have many". We drove the 28 miles to find a very small warehouse with cement floors and little furniture, mostly mattresses. We were greeted by a very nice guy, the same that we talked to on the phone. When asked if they have another spot where all the furniture and specifically sectionals are at he showed me his laptop and said they are all online. When I said I needed to see them in person, sit on them, see the construction he directed me to go to Ashley Furniture as that is the supplier they buy from. I had already been to Ashley and we looked up a couple pieces that I had already purchased and the cost was the same. The employee then said "wow, well I can discount it some more..." I appreciate that someone is trying to grow a business, keep overhead low but I felt very deceived by the website and being told they had all the items we were looking for which prompted the long drive. They should simply advertise "We sell Ashley Furniture for less if you beat us down on price, but don't expect to see it, feel it or have any customer care after the sale....".
Update: I just now see that a response has been posted by the owner. This proves my rating but will now be downgraded to 1 star. I was sitting next to me wife and heard the entire conversation. Never did she agree to come look through catalogs, we can do that online! I am disgusted by this response and more disgusted that my wife was called back the following morning and was begged to remove the poor rating as he said he was getting in trouble with the owner. As I was standing next to my wife during this, WE WERE ASKED TO REMOVE OUR POOR RATING! A very awkward p[hone call for us!!
