This is not a bad hotel, nor is it exceptional. We got a room with a Whirlpool, which is essentially an in-room hot tub. This was amazing and very nice for the last 2 days of our long and exhausting trip. We also enjoyed the various seating and nice looking lobby. The pool is also nice as it is both indoors and outdoors. The fitness center also provides water and ear buds for working out. The convenience store has a nice variety of food, snacks, and drinks. The staff and manager wete also friendly and willing to work with us on a weird issue we experienced with Hilton, described below.
However, there are some things to note. First, this hotel is expensive and does not include any breakfast despite the higher price. You have to purchase breakfast and/or dinner if you want it at the hotel. I recommend just bringing your own food or planning to get something cheaper nearby.
Second, the pool was open one of our two days there, and the hot tub was not open either day. This did not bother us because we had a whirlpool in our room, but it is worth noting.
The TV service appears to be satellite as it lost signal during a storm. We could be wrong about this though.
Also, housekeeping opened our door twice with the 'sleeping' sign on our door.
Before our stay, I had modified our reservation by adding one night. We received a confirmation email, receipt, and the app all displayed this change correctly. However, in the middle of our second day, we were called repeatedly to be told we were late to check out as apparently our stay was showing as 1 night in the hotel's system. We still aren't completely sure whether this odd error was due to the hotel or Hilton's system(s), but after several odd charges and refunds, the charge and Hilton points deductions now match our original stay and it seems to have worked out. The staff seemed confused and not well-informed on handling this issue, but they did their best, and our situation was resolved. This may just be something to keep in mind for any Hilton-based hotel.
Overall, if you want an in-room hot tub and spacious room, this is the place to go. However, there is a Tru right in front of this hotel that includes breakfast as well as everything the Garden Inn has (except the Whirlpool and hot tub) for a more...
Read moreMy stay at this hotel started out ok but turned into a total nightmare. My fiancé and I checked in on Thursday after a long drive from Ohio for a family celebration. After our first night we began noticing specks of glitter on our bodies..Neither one of us owns any article of clothing with glitter.
Our itinerary for our trip was packed, so I wasn’t able to address this that day we noticed which was Friday 7/29. By the time we did get back later that night, there wasn’t anyone at the front desk. Saturday morning we left for an event and came back to get dressed for a birthday dinner and to my dismay and disgust I noticed something on my pillow case. Upon further inspection I found specks of BLOOD on the pillow. I do not have any cuts of any kind, nor does my fiancé.
I wanted to check out then, but unfortunately we were extremely pressed for time for our reservation. My fiancé requested new sheets, pillows & towels for the room. Someone dropped off two sheets and we never received any towels or pillows. Because we once again didn’t get back to our room until late that evening, there wasn’t anyone to speak to about the condition of the room.
To top everything off when we entered the room on Saturday night we were greeted by one of the biggest roaches I have ever seen. I am 17weeks pregnant, and this stay has truly raised my stress levels. Not only was I concern for my health but that of my baby, I have never been in a situation like this in my entire life. It’s never ok for any hotel room to be in this condition, but the fact that we had this experience in the midst of a pandemic and the newly found Monkeypox virus is disheartening and outrageous.
We ended BUYING pillows and borrowing towels from our families home. If they had the ability to we would most definitely had stayed with our family members. This was our first visit to Atlanta and what a first impression.
We were in town to visit family and celebrate and this stay at the Hilton Gardens Inn was the biggest cloud over what was supposed to be a memorable,...
Read moreMy wife and daughters stayed in the hotel last night. She was woke up by a security guard at 1:00 AM. We booked the room. My wife checked in, but in the middle of the night, a security guard showed up to kick them out of the hotel. My wife explained the arrangements, and from what she could tell, it sounded like a mix-up. The woman on the other end of the radio (who my wife could hear) was rude and threatening. At the security guard's insistence it with the appears that someone working the desk mixed up rooms.
It was quite unpleasant for my wife and little girls to be woken up in the middle of the night at the threat of being kicked out. The woman o. The other end of the security guards radio was very rude and threatening. As it turns out, she was in the wrong room. It would have been nice for her to receive an apology. My daughters were genuinely scared.
Management should talk to that receptionist who sent them to the wrong room. They also canceled her key. One more inconvenience to deal with in the morning.
To his credit, the security guard helped the woman on the other end of the radio settle down and resolve the situation and was kind to my wife after he figured out the receptionist sent them to the wrong room.
I think it would have made my wife feel better if someone had just acknowledged a mistake and said sorry to her. That did not happen besides the security guard insisting that the receptionist check the other rooms and tell my wife sorry at the end of the issue.
I hope this helps. The customer should not be treated like they are at fault when the receptionist sends them to the wrong room.
Last, I could not find a means of sending this message to anyone from Hilton and the website or through the app. I would have preferred to simply tell manahement about it, but there is no way, so...
