La Fiesta Mexican Thornton Rd. — Restaurant in Douglasville

I visited based off reviews. It was my first time here & probably my last… I was greeted upon entry and dined at the bar. I had an older male server and his customer service left much to be desired. I ordered a Margarita, not sure if there’s a drink menu, I didn’t receive one and had to ask for the flavors of the margaritas… he brought out chips and salsa. I ordered guacamole & the chicken fajita. The food was decent and was hot. Forever passed w/ me needing more chips and another margarita. When he arrived I ordered the Margarita & didn’t bother with the chips. I had to ask for all the basics, even napkins. Meanwhile the guy 2 chairs down with a different server had napkins, refreshed beers and etc. He brought my check without asking if I wanted or needed anything else. I was pleasant the entire time so I’m not certain what caused the lack of service. When he brought my check, I asked to add a to go order because how rude!!!! He had taken away my used dishes, had to ask for a spoon and small container to get my guac to go. I was there around 5:30pm on a Monday, it wasn’t near closing time. I still left a $10 tip on a $40 tab. I’m big on tipping servers but this guy was the worst service I’ve received in a long time. I don’t understand all of the reviews saying this place is outdated; modern restaurants are bland and boring, this place was so colorful and fun! It reminded me of all the unique mexican restaurants I used to go to as a kid. It felt warm and inviting:)

I’m vegetarian and there were many vegetarian options! It felt nice to finally have options at a mexican restaurant other than cheese quesadillas. I ordered the spinach enchiladas and they were okay, I wish there was maybe something else in them other than just the spinach to help balance the flavor. I ordered cheese dip to go with it and that definitely helped it taste really good— the cheese dip is delicious!

I saw a lot of reviews about the salsa being excellent, but it was just okay in my opinion. It was very spicy; I’ve definitely had better from other places but it wasn’t bad! The chips were warm and very good! 😊

We went here for a late lunch around 3pm and didn't stay long. When we walked in, it was pretty empty. We waiting for someone to greet us and finally someone came and sat us. She then said they would work us into rotation. ? There looked to be 4 ppl working. 1 bartender and 3 servers. We sat for a good minute bf anyone brought us chips and salsa, which taste like can tomatoes. Then we had to flag someone down to take our drink order. Then our server came to the table asking our drink order after we already gave it to someone else. She said the other person didnt tell her what we wanted and she needed it again. Then we had to flag someone down again to try and order an appetizer, which we never got. The servers kept avoiding eye contact and we felt ignored. Finally we got up and flagged someone down and told them we were leaving since all we had were drinks; a soda and a water which we offered to pay. They said it was ok.
