This was our second time visiting and the staff here *never* disappoints! They always go way above and beyond to ensure our stay is everything we hoped for and then some. This trip was even better than the first I must say. Although my first trip I forgot to bring straws for my drinks and the staff member was sooo kind that she went to her own car and grabbed some straws she had stashed away. Like what?? That's some serious customer service! I wish I knew her name because she needs a raise! This trip--the king size bed we had was the most comfortable bed ever! I could have slept all day and night in that thing if I didn't have to be somewhere! I hope there is a way to request that exact room next time we book because this is the only hotel I will stay at when I visit Madison!! They offer a shutter bus within 3 miles and we've used it both times. I was worried this time because our venue at The Sylvee was JUST outside that distance, but I called before booking and they verified that they definitely accommodate guests that need to get there! I love this hotel so much. I noticed they upgraded their coffee station since our last visit, and while I don't drink coffee, my fiancé greatly appreciated the fresh ground coffee he got! Breakfast is always amazing--even for a Wednesday morning. Another thing, I am not sure who she is (sorry I'm terrible with names) but Tuesday night (6/17) I was scrambling at almost midnight because we realized we forgot to bring our fan... She happily went and found us a box fan for us to use in our room (might I add it was the best fan ever!) Haha. I'm not even exaggerating. This place is the best, and I'll be the first to ALWAYS tell someone what I really think. Thank you for always providing the best service! Lastly, I do remember Alex because we were playing phone tag after our stay... I accidentally left my dress hanging in the closet. He kindly explained the process to mail it to me and I should get it soon! Ugh. You all are so sweet. Thanks again! We will be back though, just so you know! 😉

This was a nice hotel but lacked in amenities such as food/bar service. There is little in the immediate area to walk to, even a convenience store. They do offer some cold stuff in a refrigerated area and do serve breakfast, but it was rather inconvenient for the evening after busy days at our conference. The single serve bottles of wine are $6. They did have complimentary wine on certain days I believe between 5-7, we didnt get back until around 6 each night and I was only able to enjoy a few sips of the bottom of the bottle one night. They also provide shuttle service within 3 miles of the hotel, so that was helpful!

This was a great hotel! It seems newish, and everything was in good condition. It was quiet and comfortable, and breakfast was fresh and plentiful. The staff was friendly, and the housekeeper did a good job cleaning. It would be helpful if the front desk staff mentioned at check in that you can opt out of housekeeping by putting a door hanger on the door before 2am. I didn't notice it until the following day. The fruit water in the lobby was a pleasant surprise. It's close to downtown, and less than half a mile from a nature preserve with some walking trails.

My son and I stopped here late at night earlier this year. The person at the front desk was very friendly and helped me sign up for their rewards program to get a slight discount, and they also offered a discount for me being a veteran. The room was super clean and comfortable, and so were the beds. The continental breakfast in the morning was relatively small but a lot better than the other hotels we stopped at on our 2k mile round trip. Even though we didn't get a chance to check out any of the amenities, I would have rated this hotel 5 stars anyway because it was nicer than a lot of the Holiday Inn Express hotels I've stayed at over the last couple decades. In fact, I previously felt like many Holiday Inn Expresses didn't seem to have the same quality I was accustomed to a decade or two ago, although I assume that might be due to different franchises or whatever.

What stood out to me was the customer service I received about 6-7 months (yes, MONTHS) later. During my stay, I inadvertently left an important prescription medication there. I called shortly after, but it hadn't been found or turned in yet. Fast forward to a couple weeks ago, and I received a call out of the blue that they had found them and put them in the safe until they were able to get ahold of me. Sandy, the manager, was so pleasant to speak with, and she made it a priority to get my meds back to me asap. She even sent a handwritten card along with them. I hung up the phone with an actual smile and was just kind of stunned for a minute or two because something like that's almost unheard of- at least in my experiences. I feel like many places might have just figured I was long gone and not worried about it. Also, I'm 100% not insinuating anything about housekeeping staff here or elsewhere, but I also feel like it would have hypothetically been easy for them to have pocketed them and not said anything- even though the meds aren't the kind that some people would abuse. It's not unheard of these days. If it was a staff member that found them and not another traveler, I hope that person was recognized by management.

The dedication of Sandy and the rest of the staff there was so impressive that if I were to travel the same route or a similar one, I would go out of my way to stay at this Holiday Inn Express. This place sets the standard for what any 3 star hotel should be. I wouldn't exactly consider Madison as a place I'd want to vacation at, but I legit would have liked to stay at this hotel for a few more days. Thank you to Sandy and everyone there who got my meds back to me and made me feel not only like a valued customer, but also a valued person! To any other traveler who reads this long review, stay at this place when you stop to rest on your trip. You...

I was in town for a business trip the week of 7/15-7/19/2019. I don’t even know where to begin to describe just how wonderful my entire stay was while at the Holiday Inn Express (Madison-Central). The hotel staff is so kind, helpful, and attentive. Everyone from the front desk: Tyler, Christopher, “Front Desk Mike”, Sandy, and Laura were always helpful and friendly. They helped to ensure that my entire stay was satisfactory, but they really went above and beyond. From making sure I was scheduled for my daily shuttles to and from Epic, to arranging other transportation needs, and providing recommendations of local area attractions…they always kept my best interests in mind. I greatly appreciate their efforts and support during my stay.

This brings me to your shuttle staff. You have a great team of drivers. Mike, “Santa Mike”, & Nick always got us where we needed to be and they always got us there on time. They were also very knowledgeable of various restaurants and places in town, when giving suggestions. “Santa Mike” was always willing to provide local trivia and information about the area. That made the commute back and forth go by even faster. Every now and then “Front Desk Mike” and Tyler from the front desk would also help shuttle everyone. They were also great. I can’t say enough about how terrific this team of drivers was during my visit.

The breakfasts were also great. Santiago did an outstanding job making sure everything was ready and well-prepared each morning. He takes great pride in what he does and the hotel guests appreciate what he does. I’m thankful that we had a nice, hot breakfast available to us each morning.

It's obvious that this facility is well-managed. Patricia and Mai are wonderful people and so very nice. It was great getting to know them during the manager’s reception in the lobby. I think the reception is a nice touch but getting to meet these ladies was a real treat. It was evident that they really cared about how much we were enjoying our stay.

I hope that I didn’t forget to mention anyone. Holiday Inn Express (Madison-Central) has an exceptional staff and I hope you’ll pass along my gratitude for an...

I cannot say enough good things about the staff this hotel. They are professional, genuinely caring, friendly and do not hesitate to go above and beyond. They truly offer a 5 star level of service.

On the first day of my 5 day visit I had an accident and broke my ankle. The front desk staff received and fulled assembled (competently, I might add) the knee scooter my family had delivered to the hotel and brought it up to me. And expressed multiple times how happy they were to be able to help.

They also thoughfully provided me with extra towels, extra pillows for elevating my ankle, and a shower stool. They also called my when my delivery from Walmart arrived and delived that to my door as well.

They shuttled me (and my scooter) back and forth to Epic the rest of the week, and the shuttle drivers are outstanding. Each of them kind, funny and great to talk to, as well as fantastic at making sure I felt safe entering and exiting the vechicle in my hobbled state.

I would like to give a special shout out to Sean, who saw me rearranging my car in preparation to travel in the parking lot and immediately approached me to make sure I was getting the assistance I needed. He packed all of my stuff on the lugged cart for me, brought it down to the parking lot and packed my car up for me as well, checking with me for the location I wanted each item.

I have stayed a lot of places in my time, and I have never seen a hotel staff shine so brightly. And they were also kind and friendly with each other, I was able to watch them working a few times while I waited (briefly- they are also fast) and their coordination and teamwork was obvious. I am so glad I got a chance to speak the manager about her wonderful team.

Additionally, my room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the amenities were very nice. Another thing, I was on the 2nd floor of a packed house and it was QUIET.

Though I was tired after my crazy week, I almost didn't want to go home due to the hotel staff making things as easy for me as possible. THANK YOU, Holiday Inn and Suites...
