if i could give no stars, i would. The staff is extremely rude. We got to Camp High Sierra hoping to have a good time but it was the complete opposite. We set up our campsite and all of a sudden a Karen arrived and started complaining that we were in her campsite which clearly had our number . She called the staff and made a big deal. The staff sided with her because she “reserves every year”. Eventually we moved over to the next campsite WHICH HAD NO TRAILER HOOKUPS because the staff agreed to give us access to them anyways. After we set up AGAIN, the staff came back and tried harassing me saying they had a recording of me saying i was aware my campsite had no hookups.I asked to hear the recording because i had reserved the space months ago, and did not remember saying that. They declined to show me anything and give us access to the hookups even after they promised they would. While i was speaking to the staff, the Karen, once again, came out and started harassing us once again. Staff started saying they felt threatened by ME and sided with the Karen again. We continued our stay anyway, but the rest of the week the staff would bother us about any little thing they could. They would threaten to kick us out of the campsite and give us a “big fat fine”, in the staffs own words. This campsite was full of rude and disrespectful staff. never coming...
Read morePretty campsite but literally in houses backyard. Sites are close to each other which isn’t the most ideal, especially when people do not abide to the quiet time hours. The staff is very friendly, but there is no one enforcing quiet time hours at night so people get loud and rowdy, even after 10pm. Many are super loud before the quiet time ends at 7am which was extremely rude, laughing loud , kids screaming, cooking loudly etc. If you come in the weekend, expect to be surrounded by very loud, obnoxious people that have no sense of decency towards others. People were leaving fires unattended and going to sleep without putting out the fire, which is both extremely unsafe and annoying for others that get a ton of smoke coming into your tents. I don’t know if there is a camp host, but if there is, they are not doing their job at all. The showers and bathrooms are ok, nothing to write home about. They could do with some upgrades but you have hot water and some privacy. The back tent only area is nice, more away from the more loud annoying people, and you do see deer and sometimes bear. But if you like to have a more outdoor and nature experience without people that have no respect for nature or others, I would not recommend...
Read moreA great spot. It definitely fills up, though, so you won't exactly feel like you're out in the middle of the woods if that's the vibe you are going for. I was there Labor Day weekend, and it was sold out. Plenty of tent and RV sites. My group of six stayed in one of their cabins. Not a whole lot of privacy in the fire rings outside the cabins. It would be great for big groups that could fill up a few of them. We lucked out in that we got the one cabin that was blocked off from the others, so we had a little more privacy and us 6 20 somethings didn't intrude on the family vibe happening at the other cabins. There were 4 single beds and a bunk bed, table, outlets, a mirror, and lots of shelf space in the cabin. I slept very well, but I like a firm bed. The bathrooms were always clean. Showers were hot. Even with a full campground, my group never ran into a line at the showers. The check-in process was very accommodating for late arrivals. Coming from LA on a Friday, we didn't make it in until midnight. The office also sold firewood and would delivery it to your campsite, what service! It was in a great location in regards to Mammoth Mountain, the village, and a number of lakes. Absolutely...
