This reservation was made at the last minute, and upon arrival, I was underwhelmed. The size of this campground is insufficient to be considered a proper campground. If you are seeking a secluded camping experience, this location is not suitable. Campers are situated in close proximity to one another. The site I reserved was number 011, and it is directly adjacent to another camper. Our bear box is literally side by side with the neighboring camper's bear box. If the owner intends to continue operating this as a campground, they should significantly reduce the number of available sites. The only positive aspect I can mention is the proximity to the water. They also offer boat and kayak rentals. Additionally, the caretakers are diligent in maintaining the restrooms, patrolling the area, and educating campers about bears and the proper use of bear boxes.

Couldn't reserve a spot online so I decided to try my luck and I still went hoping to find an open spot. We got lucky and found an open space on a saturday morning. The staff was friendly and the bathrooms were clean. It rained both days we were there for about an hour or two. The second day a bear and her cubs walked into our campground in the middle of the night with all of us there around the campfire. Definately lock up all food right away as they will walk right in with no fear if they smell food. Besides the bear scare the views were amazing and I would definately recommend checking this place out.

We had a great experience at Lake Mary Campground. We stayed at Site 10 for 4 nights in early-August. Sites 10 and 11 are small and surrounded by a driveway loop. We had a small tent and great neighbors, so we didn't mind how close things were (with a bad neighbor it could be miserable). The outer sites mostly had big RVs. The site was the dustiest campsite I have ever experienced--we just embraced being dirty and didn't try to stay clean. Pros: Proximity to lake, friendly hosts, nearby trails, beautiful views, close to bathroom Cons: Very dusty, small site, many close neighbors

IMPORTANT INFO: A handful of sites at the campsite are first come first serve. All campsite have a post with the site number on it. There is a reservation placard that will either say "reserved" or "open." The first come first serve sites will say "open: 14 days." For sites that can be reserved online, they sometimes open up for one or two nights at a time during summer. These will say "open: one night." Sometimes they will be open for two nights. HOT SHOWERS can be taken at the camp store at twin Lakes Campground Store. They're available until 6 PM, and cost $6. BOAT RENTALS are available at two marinas on the lake. One is by Lake Mary campground the other by Coldwater campground. OTHERWISE...Beautiful campground. Decent sites. Very much a family friendly campground. I went in mid August, and the whole Mammoth Lakes area...

Camp Hosts eager to fill the camp with paying customers, which is their job, except they lead us to a spot, and promptly sought to collect our fees without foretelling us that the camp was closing in two nights!! Unfortunately, we had cleared our calendars for 4 nights👎🏻, but had already begun leveling the trailer and unpacking the tent! We stayed the two nights, with the bears running the show in the evening! Camphost's response? "Are you bothering my bears?" Meant to be cute but not cute, as many campers needed extra prompting and reminders regarding proper food storage and disposal. Won't return until better campground bear monitoring is place, so I don't have to bother 'their' bears. Restrooms get a three for...
