My wife and I stayed this weekend and couldn't have been happier. The location was great and our room had a good view of the water.
From the outside you can tell that the building has been there for many years but I believe its been kept up very well. I wasnt expecting too much when I arrived but was pleasantly surprised to find that our room had clearly been renovated recently. I was glad to discover that it had a full refrigerator, full size microwave and a Keurig with K cups. Marco Island is gorgeous and also quite pricey so being able to store and cook food for a whole week was important for us to stay within budget. The bathrooms were relatively spacious and very clean, also renovated recently. The shower had very hot, soft water and good pressure. Our room had 2 beds, 1 king and 1 queen. Only the king was used on our trip and was quite comfortable to sleep in. Room outfitted with 2 flatscreens and cable. WiFi was also free but did seem a bit difficult to pull down at the end of the building where we were. Off of the bedroom there is a perfect little balcony with a good view of the waterway.
All of this was on top of the spectacular hospitality that was showed to us. For example, our flight was delayed and Des, the owner, made arrangement's for us to check in after hours. On another occasion, we had ran outside to watch the sunset and were locked out of the room. A quick call using the provided emergency phone outside and I was instructed to use the outside lockbox to access a spare. The staff was very friendly and offered help or extras when they could. They even offered up a couple of cold beers to welcome us. This isn't something you find at a large chain hotel, even though they charge considerably more, it's something you find at The Boathouse. I will definitely stay there again. Thanks...
Read moreI arrived in Marco from Chicago around 1am, and discovered I had the wrong key to the condo I was staying at, and nothing could be done until the morning. My options were to either sleep in my car, spend $$$$ at a resort, or call around to see if there was a decent priced hotel for the night. I called The Boat House Motel and the owner, Nick, answered my call. He was my hero. I have never been to Marco before, and he stayed on the phone with me directing me to the hotel, and made sure I got into my room without any problems. When I arrived in my room and got settled after a day of traveling I was blown away by how nice, clean, and spacious the room was. King size bed, a comfy couch, a kitchen, a ceiling fan, and a nice patio. The next morning I walked to the docks on the resort, and I saw my first dolphin of the trip, and I knew this was an amazing place. I also learned the owners were from Chicago. You can't beat the midwestern hospitality. This is a great place to stay in Marco Island. Beautiful rooms, great customer service, amazing views, decently priced and close to everything!! I would recommend this if you are planning on visiting...
Read moreMy husband and I were going to stay for a long weekend the end of April, we booked with Booking.com. My husband had a heart attack two weeks ago and we were told by the doctor that he shouldnât travel. For the first time ever I booked with an establishment that has a cancellation fee, never again. We called to ask if the cancellation fee could be waved because of the circumstances. The owner went OFF on us, while heâs laying in the hospital recovering. She blamed it all on Booking.com, lying, telling us that it was their decision to cancel the fee. We had already called them and they said that it was up to the business to cancel the fee. Booking.com was very compassionate and caring. They called to speak with them while I was on the phone and they still would not show compassion. I donât know about you but if Iâm treated with that much contempt by a business I will not EVER think of staying there again and I will certainly not tell anyone else to go there, in fact just the opposite. Their character and integrity was exposed, incredibly evil is how I would describe the way we were talked to and treated. God forbid they ever need to be...
