We had a wonderful brunch at Smith House today. I had the classic eggs Benny and hubby had fish and chips. Both were outstanding. Service was great; the servers helped each other out. When our server was busy at another table, another one noticed that I needed a refill on my drink. We sat outside in an out of the way corner of the beautiful patio because we had our well behaved dog with us. I know that not everyone likes dogs, so itâs nice that we could enjoy our meal without worrying about that. The staff were kind to the dog and brought her water. They even put ice in it for her. The patio is nicely landscaped and decorated and provides shade from the hot Florida sun. The staff wore masks at all times and the tables were well spaced out, which I greatly appreciated.    Read moreHad such a disappointing experience at Easter Brunch. The brunch itself was not too impressive, and food was only mediocre, but then again, didnât expect too much for $20 per person. So, I couldnât believe it when we got the check and they automatically added a tip of 25 % !!! I spoke to the owner and she advised she just learned about it and it wouldnât happen again but did nothing to adjust it. By the way, this wasnât an isolated event with just my bill. It was added to everyoneâs bill for the day! The servers didnât even advise customers it was there so who knows how many people ended up tipping on top of that. This is for a brunch where no one is taking your order or serving you food. Not sure what they are thinking but itâs surely a way too...
   Read moreI have always loved breakfast here. The setting is very nice for an outdoor meal. Tried to have breakfast on Sunday, just after noon. Wasn't too busy, maybe 25% of the tables were open. Unfortunately we waited a very long time to get seated, though nobody was ahead of us. Once seated, nobody came to our table. We left after 10-15 minutes of waiting for someone to offer us water or coffee. We are usually very patient as everyone is understaffed, but they have to know to at least touch base once with a new table within 15 minutes of being seated. Cannot complain or rave about the food, we never got to that point. The person we informed seemed relieved we were leaving. It is not easy owning a restaurant these days, that is for sure...I'm sure it...
