We used to live in Massillon and came into town from out of state to visit friends for a few days. I loved that the location is right in town near some of our favorite spots, however the set up of the garage and hotel can be a bit confusing. I personally loved being able to park in my diamond member spot and go straight to the elevator and up to my room from the garage. I liked that you needed a key card to access the rooms on the elevator as well. However it does make it difficult when ordering delivery service. The garage is also a bit dicey feeling at night. I've lived in the area, so I'm not super concerned, but out-of-towners who are not familiar with the area might find it a little worrisome since not all parts of the garage are not well-lit and there always seems to be people hanging out in there.
The front desk attendant was great and helpful getting us checked in.
The breakfast in the morning was one of best I've had at hotels and the man working the breakfast area every day was literally so helpful and sweet. He seemed to get along with everyone. One day he noticed my young daughter and I trying to figure out how to bring our breakfast to our room for breakfast in bed and he brought us trays out to make it easier for us.
The rooms were okay, but they seemed dated. Unlike some Hilton owned hotels we've stayed in, there was no smart TV access - only old school cable TV. The beds were comfortable. The AC wasn't as strong as I would like. Everything seemed a bit dingy and dusty when we walked in. I assumed it had been cleaned a while ago and maybe just not a popular room and so it had just sat empty for a while. I went through and wet wiped everything when we got there to help with the dust. Despite being on the 5th floor, the outside noise was surprisingly loud - we could even hear people talking as they left restaurants/bars outside.
Overall, an okay stay - the rooms could use some sprucing up, maybe more attention to cleaning. The garage could definitely use better lighting to make it feel more safe. I think there could also be a better way for food delivery drivers to get food in late at night that's not so confusing. I did the best I could to describe how to deliver, but it was still a mess. Maybe signage for drivers outside to help...
Read moreI travel frequently and often stay at Hampton Inns, but I’ve noticed a decline in quality at many locations since COVID. That is not the case here. The Hampton Inn in Missoula, Ohio, stands out as a truly exceptional property. This hotel is highly committed to quality, and it shows in every aspect of their operation.
Dan, the night auditor, was especially impressive. He was incredibly helpful when I arrived in the early hours of the morning (around 2 or 3 a.m.), providing detailed directions to the parking lot and guidance on getting to my room. His professionalism and attention to detail were greatly appreciated. The rooms were spotlessly clean, and the entire property felt well-maintained.
The breakfast service also deserves special recognition. The breakfast attendant consistently kept the area spotless, wiping tables and ensuring everything was fresh and well-presented. The food was excellent—nothing appeared reused or carried over, and the variety was fantastic. It was a refreshing change compared to other properties where standards have slipped.
As a former hotel manager, I can confidently say this is one of the best Hampton Inns I’ve encountered. For a limited-service hotel, it exceeds expectations. I highly recommend this location to anyone...
Read moreAs always, I had a great experience staying at Hampton Inn. Massillon is a beautiful city full of nice, friendly people and the hotel is not an exception. From the front desk gentleman that checked me in, the people working the breakfast, the cleaning ladies, all beautiful, great people. Unfortunately my experience didn´t ended up well because I had a very early flight from Cleveland, so I checked out at 2am. When I got to the front desk no one was there so I rang the bell once, so Miss Cassandra came out of the office and removed the bell from the desk while she was evidently upset, while asking me what did I need. I told her i was checking out and she only took my key card and was walking inside the office again but I told her I needed a printed receipt which it evidently upset her even more. She printed the receipt and give it to me with a way less friendly attitude than the Hampton standard, so I even apologize for disturbing her. I am sorry I had to check out at that time, but my flight was at 5am. I hope Hampton Inn Massillon could have during those hours, employees that are ok with being disturbed by customers at 2am in...
