Check in was fine. the room not so much... Deadbolt on the door is broken and would not latch. Sink drain plug would not open so the water would not drain. Had to climb under the counter and push the lever up to get it to open just so I could brush my teeth. Window was boarded up with OSB plywood and a musty smell coming from the air conditioner. Bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean so there is that. Breakfast was an absolute disaster! morning #1 - arrived at 0702, breakfast is from 0600 - 0900, and no coffee, no juice, no milk, no biscuits (but plenty of crockpot gravy!) about a 1/4 pan of eggs left, 3 sausage patties, 4 sausage links, empty pan of potatoes, and no bread or bagels. Employee running breakfast and front desk looked like he just woke up wearing baggy T-shirt, giant basketball shorts and crocks with no socks tells me they don't have coffee it will be a while. I finished part of my waffle (only thing to eat) and employee brings in urn of coffee. I fill my cup and can't even drink it. (I am a military veteran and can drink gasoline run through coffee grounds) and I had to pour this stuff out! morning #2 arrived at 0725 and no food not even a spoonful of anything! No juice, no milk, no nothing. Rang the bell at the front desk to get someone to do something and no answer. Looks like another piece of waffle for breakfast. The same guy as morning #1 comes in and just stands in front of the empty food containers and says "poo" (but the four letter one). I made sure to leave my room key at the front desk for fear they would actually charge me $5 for it if I didn't leave per all the signs on the front desk. Zero stars if I could. Absolute disaster for a hotel. I blame ownership and management for piss-poor quality of room and the lack of planning for additional staffing after storms. McCook is well aware that when hailstorms roll through, the hotels are going to get slammed with out-of-town work crews. Next time I find myself in this situation I will drive the 30 minutes out of town to another hotel due...
Read moreI made reservations for a 2 queen sized bed room prior to my stay for me and another guest. Drove 8 hours and when I arrive at the hotel, the front desk person was nowhere to be found. There was a line of us who waited for over 20 minutes. Two of us even called the hotel to try and get the front desk to come up and answer the phone. Nothing. He shows up and makes jokes saying, “I have arrived” then realized, he didn’t have his keys. Then we had to wait even longer. Mind you, it’s almost 10pm. When it was my turn to check in, I was informed that the hotel overbooked and I now had to have a king sized single bed. I voiced my frustration as I had made the reservation specifically for two queen sized beds and the guy said there’s nothing he can do. I asked to be compensated and his response again was there was nothing he can do and he just works there. Then said it’s I take the room or cancel the reservation. Obviously, after driving 8 hours, I had no choice. We got the key to the room and upon walking in, I noticed that the window in the back was broken. The next morning, used the bathroom and the toilet would not flush. We were able to get a new room on Saturday the 10th. But, that still does not satisfy that it was not the original room I reserved, the front desk was unprofessional, and there was no compensation for the hotels error. Overall, the hotel was clean, it was a place to stay while visiting family for the weekend. But, will not be...
Read moreMy family will NEVER stay at this Hotel ever again. They overheard the way they speak to their employees and witnessed how poorly they are treated by the owners and their family. The employee that they were so abusive towards was the only good part of the experience, and yet they basically spit in her face and stomped her to the ground. Shame on You!!! My family and friends, I can ensure you, will NEVER stay at ANY QUALITY INN, HERE OR ANYWHERE ELSE EVER AGAIN. FURTHERMORE, I WILL ALSO BE CALLING CORPORATE TO INFORM THEM THAT THIS LOCAL HOLIDAY HAS RUINED THE HOLIDAY REPUTATION AND HAS LOST THE BUSINESS OF THOUSANDS, I PROMISE YOU! The most valuable words of wisdom in my entire life has been You REAP WHAT YOU SOW , treat others as you would like to be treated. Positive Thoughts = Positive Actions= POSITIVE OUTCOMES. The same is true with Toxicity and these owners are about as poisonous as it gets. If this behavior is not seriously and professionally addressed this business is doomed to fall flat on their faces. It's inevitable. Which, sorry to say, looks like it would be well deserved. Next Time, think about all you could lose and embrace what you got, like good employees! SMH To the employees who've had to endure such a repulsive toxic work environment, keep your head up and a smile on your face, you are far better than they are and you deserve to be treated as such. I wish you the very best in all your life's...
