I’ve stayed at a lot of sketchy places but this was the only place I felt like I was about to be trafficked. We were followed to our hotel room and there was always someone outside/watching us. Staff was unhelpful in terms of our safety when we requested to be relocated to a different room even though they have availability on the premises (I checked if I can book a room online prior to asking the staff). This whole experience felt like a trafficking ring orchestrated by….. yeah. Good luck and stay safe out there!
Edit/Response to owner: As a woman travelling to unknown locations, I take my safety very seriously. As a matter of fact, I can give you the description of 3 men who were outside our hotel room and around the timeframe.
Interaction with the first man. Outside my hotel room around the timeframe 6:30-7:00am(Check your camera around this timeframe). He was by the stairs short dark scruffy hair with scruffy beard, slim build, Caucasian/light skinned, at the time he was wearing black shirt. He asked if I was from out of town. He asked if my girlfriend and I were going somewhere. (Couple takeaways from this interaction. We didn't check in until after 11pm last night and only the hotel staff and the hotel guest next to us saw us. Secondly, he couldn't have seen us together that morning because we both left the hotel room separate times to get breakfast.) My partner's interaction with the same man. She was walking out of the property after I came inside the room. I don't know which direction she went but I'm assuming towards the Dennis restaurant. The man saw her and made a beeline for her and started following her towards the property.
Interaction with the second man. We were leaving the room and a man, long black hair, fair skinned, slim build. I can't remember if he had facial hair or not. This man paced down the lot while staring at us. Given, we have definitely considered giving everyone benefit of the doubt but we wanted to be vigilant in terms of our safety which is why after, we raised our concerns with your staff and requested early on for a different room.
Interaction with the third man. After your staff told my partner that you're not able to speak with her regarding our room, I came back around lunch time to personally hand Ana my driver's license. Now she said she's not able to move us to a different room and didn't give us a reason why even though the place is not fully booked because I check if I'd be able to book online prior to speaking with your staff. We relented and decided to cut our loses instead of possibly ending up trafficked/dead. We came back to the hotel room to gather our things and directly outside by the post, a dark skinned man with short hair was standing looking at our room. It is over 100 degrees outside with no shade where he was but he was staring at us and our hotel room and he was there until we left.
Now you can gaslight us by saying we weren't followed or our safety was your staff's priority but given the actions we have taken and the lack thereof by your staff speaks clear volumes to what your priorities are.
Also, I still have not received the refund I've requested and you've "approved" (this may take a few days) as well as my $50 deposit (this should not have taken this long to be returned).
UPDATE 7/25/24: It has been over a week and I have still not received which was promised by the owner and the deposit was still not reversed. I have followed up twice with Gregory but no response yet. I will continue to update this review until I receive my deposit back and refund to track how long it takes/if they are ever true to their words.
UPDATE 8/7/24 It's been over a week since my last update and I still have not received the refund I was promised by the owner. I've asked for confirmation number or any confirmation at all that they processed the refund when they said they did but alas, nothing. So this place not only seems like a trafficking ring but they will also steal your money. Good...
Read moreMy wife, 9 yr old son and I have been traveling cross country from WV to BC Canada then down the coast of Washington , Oregon & California over to Yosemite going to hit Big Sur , anyway I don’t really have the time to write reviews , but feel I need to for Days Inn by Wyndham Merced / Yosemite area hotel . This is our 16th day of travel and have stayed in 16 different hotels and have not had any real issues with any until now , the place does seem clean enough (except greasy looking stain in the middle of the floor in our room) the lobby and breakfast area looked nice upon checking in , I called them directly ( no 3rd party like Expedia ) on there site it says room has led tv , fridge and microwave “ect” when I got there the girl was nice , but said before I gave her my credit card ( even though I did this over the phone to secure it , witch is normal ) Oh that room does not have a tv , do you want to upgrade ? I’m sure trying to get more money out of there room rate from what I was quoted, I said no need we was tired and was just needing to sleep, we get to room #126 and there’s a tv bracket and No tv witch she told me about , but there was no fridge , microwave , there was a ironing board but not a iron on the bracket , no tissues, no soap , no shampoo , missing lamp shade, a see thru shower curtain was thumb tacked into the wall over the window so the street light shined thru & No smoke detector! I’m pretty sure that’s not to code ! I have rental property in Wv & have to have one in every sleeping area for the city of Huntington , and for HUD you have to have one per floor, I went to the front desk and ask for some soap and shampoo and she came out with one small bar of soap and a bottle of moisturizer and said that’s all she had ( no shampoo) & when I told her about the shower curtain thumb tacked to the wall she acted surprised and said oh I’ll have to check on that tomorrow ( after we check out) here I am writing this in my notes on my phone at midnight because I feel a little bit ripped off . I read another review they charged someone a $200 deposit and it’s been 8 days and they still have not got it back & the hotels response was it takes up to 20 days and your bank must be holding it! They charged me $50 just checked my capital one app, we will see how this plays out! Rant over I’m going to bed now! Lol , ok here it is at 3:08 am I just woke up for some reason , I don’t know if it’s the multiple trains passing blowing there horns , or the dog I hear barking sounds like coming from another room or the Mexican restaurant we ate at in Groveland😋 (Cocina Michoacana, witch was Excellent ! ) a wash rag I had to put over my eyes to get to sleep isn’t blocking out the light so great so im going with a pillow instead ! back to sleep again! So just got up and went for breakfast & was pleasantly surprised it was one of the better ones we have had on this trip the eggs, sausage & especially the sausage gravy was very good and fresh tasting compared to most others on this trip, kudos to whomever is over the breakfast decisions & to the ones that prepare it! Oh and I forgot to tell you there was actually a Keurig coffee pot in the room with no coffee, but there was 2 tea bags . Wyndham if your reading this you can do better with this particular hotel because I have stayed in several hotels ( by Wyndham ) on this trip and past trips and your usually top notch! The second star is only for...
Read moreWorst. Stay. Ever. We tried to check in at 4:30, 1/2 an hour after our anticipated arrival of 4:00 and 1 1/2 hours after the advertised check-in time of 3:00. The front desk was extremely short staffed with one person trying to check-in four parties, and the check in process took a long time, mainly spent waiting in line. Our room was not cleaned yet, so we went to an early dinner. When we came back after a leisurely meal, the room was ready but lacked a refrigerator, requiring us to move to a new room next door. My sister pulled the bedspread back, sat down, and immediately started itching. There were short black hairs all over the bottom sheet; my sister has long, blonde hair. We notified the front office, and they immediately sent housekeeping out to change the sheets. It took several hours for the room to cool down, even with the air conditioner cranked up as high as possible. The barn bathroom door did not close all the way, which was unfortunate as we had three people sharing the room. (We’re sisters, but come on… some things are private.) Additionally this second room had no towels, and the bathtub was absolutely filthy with black marks all over the bottom sheet. There was no fire alarm in the room. I requested a call from the hotel manager as he/she was not available when we checked out. A woman called me later, saying she was a manager. She told me that our $120 stay would be refunded; (Unfortunately, I did not write down her name.) I also received an email from Kay Dhaliwal (Manager) which did not mention any refund but acknowledged my concerns and thanked me for my feedback. Days Inn did indeed refund me $120, but then charged me $120 TWICE on my card. Since I have nothing in writing documenting the promised refund from the property, I have no further recourse other than to leave reviews. I sent an email back to Ms. Dhaliwal requesting a follow up on the promised refund, but have not received any response. DO NOT RECOMMEND! DIRTY! Poor management and housekeeping!
This is what the owner of Days Inn Merced wrote in response to my review on this site:
“I cannot find your name our system anywhere. If you did in fact stay with us, please call and speak with the management team. Thank you!”
I’m sorry, but I have neither the time nor the energy to troll random websites and leave bad reviews, complete with pictures. And since I wasn’t there, surely they won’t have a problem reversing the $120.16 to my Visa account? I can easily send proof that I was charged $120.16 twice on 8/24/25 as well as refunded 120.16 once on the same day. As evidenced by last communication, one might see why I am not interested in dealing with management at this site as they lack professionalism, as demonstrated once again by publicly calling my veracity into question by implying that I had not been there. (I’m sorry that this last bit is rude, but to call my integrity into question is...
