We paid $92.61 including tax for room 10 (the "suite") which was smaller than the smallest room at a Motel 6 or Super 8. We woke up the next morning to shower, and there was no running water anywhere. I called the front desk before 8am, and the man who answered the phone sounded like I woke him up. He said there was nothing he could do and hung up. Evidently the whole hotel had no water. Needless to say, we drove 30 miles down the road to ensure the place we ate at had running water!! The only saving grace of this hotel is being 20 miles or so from the beautiful Monument Valley and the Swinging Steak restaurant. My wife & I paid $65.34 for an 18 oz ribeye dinner (we split the steak), an extra plate (extra serving of salad, Texas toast, and pinto beans), 3 beers ($4 each), and 1 coke. The food was good, but don't expect the steak to be seasoned. It had the natural flavors from the hot juniper wood fire below the swinging grill. It was fun to watch - that's for sure. The dinner is definitely overpriced, but it was tasty. The only choices are an 18 oz ribeye ($36), 12 oz strip ($28), or the hamburger steak ($13). The extra plate if you want to share the meat is $5. It is a family-owned hotel & restaurant, and several of the family members play instruments. They play country songs while you eat - it's a nice touch. In summary, this is a classic example of everyday Americans taking advantage of their situation = small town, not many lodging and restaurant options, close to Monument Valley = high prices and not so good service. Guess ya can't get too upset, but don't plan on getting your money's worth at the...

I had read good reviews and booked six months in advance a room at the price of $200. The place is very neglected full of junk in the back. The swimming pool was closed. The room for 4 people that we were assigned in a detached building from the main one was nice and lacked nothing. Apparently, no one had been in there for a while because there was a lot of dirt on the floor at the entrance but the rest was clean and tidy. The same ownership runs the adjacent restaurant. When we went to make dinner reservations we were told that they did not serve alcohol and to bring our own beer if we wanted. So we came back later to have dinner. The menu was very simple, ribs, steak or hamburger, side beans and salad. Perfect for our needs. Forget the grill in the picture, they used a small domestic grill, nothing more. We were disappointed with the food prepared with minimal effort. The beans went from can to plate without a minimum of seasoning or cooking, and the portion of meat and vegetables was minimal especially for the ribs - three in number. Prices high, 3 ribs $20, steak 10 oz $30, burger $18. In addition they charged us $2 for each beer we drank. They told us it was required by law. They didn't bring us water so much as we had our own beers, so we were told. We had to ask for knives because wrapped in the towel there was only a fork. In short, an unbelievable disappointment and in the end the bad feeling of having been a...

No volveré seguro nunca.

My bestie and I stopped here on our road trip when the windy, cold weather ruined our camping plans. We were met with friendly and accommodating hospitality. This lodge and the Mexican Hat Inn down the street are owned by a mother-daughter duo and their homey touch is notable! We cozied up in the cute velvet chairs, drank our cocoa, and ate our complimentary muffins! We felt so lucky to happen upon this motel and had a lovely chat with the front desk lady Barbara. If we are ever passing through we will be sure to stop and try to get the same room! The storm brought in the most gorgeous double rainbow leading us right to the lodge!

This place surprised me. The rooms are small but they’re very clean and organized. And you have what you need. Prices are good and there’s an excellent steak restaurant next door/downstairs so I’d recommend this place if you are looking for a place to sleep while touring Monument Valley and/or other nearby vacation spots. The lobby is old and unique so don’t let it throw you off - the rooms themselves are well kept.
