After staying in hotels with free breakfasts for over a week, we were looking for somewhere for a good hot breakfast and the San Juan Cafe did not disappoint. I had French toast with bacon and my hubby had a big breakfast with hashbrowns, eggs, country ham and toast. Both meals were very good and way more than either of us could eat. It was the best French toast I’ve ever had. Our waitress, Brooke, was phenomenal!! She was super friendly and on top of making sure we had everything we needed. When we left she was concerned that we left food on our plates because there was something wrong. We assured her that it was just too much food. If we hadn’t planned a full day of adventures, I would have brought it back to the room to finish later. If in the area check out the San Juan Cafe. You won’t be disappointed.

We did a 2 weeks road trip holiday. This restaurant was from far the WORST experience we had. To be short: food is terrible, prepared with absolutely no care, and service is a shame. We had a tacos salad (the dough could have been used to river raft down the Colorado river) and a burger. Both a shame to whomever cares a tiny bit about food and cooking. The service was extremely unprofessional and rude. From the beginning on the staff makes you feel like you disturb them. The menu mentions that they will add a 18% gratuity to parties of 5 and more (fine, that’s rather common). Only issue: were 2 and the 18% was charged on our bill. After asking why, I was told that the waiter can decide freely what they want to add to the check. Not only illegal, but also unacceptable. Avoid, avoid, avoid!

We are being very generous giving them a single star because if there was a way to give a negative star it would be more accurate. We arrived at the restaurant at 5:45 for dinner and were promptly seated. We ordered a couple of beers for us and a couple of root beers for our grandkids. When the drinks were brought out order was taken. Yesterday was my wife's birthday and I wanted to treat her to a great steak dinner and celebrate with our grandkids. So the kids ordered a hamburger for one and a large taco for the other and I ordered 2 $46.00 12 ounce rib eyes one with a baked potato and the other with mashed potatoes and it comes with a salad and the steaks were ordered medium rare. The kids meals were brought in about 15 to 20 minutes but there was no sign of ours. The kids finished their meals 20 minutes before our meals were even brought. When it finally came an hour after we arrived there, the steaks were medium well to well done. The baked potato was about the size of a golf ball. My wife's mashed potatoes never made the plate and she also got a "baked" potato same size mine. Oh, and by the way we were never brought our salads. The waiter was friendly but the manager was outright rude. I really don't enjoy complaining but I became angrier and angrier when several tables had been seated after us and were finished and leaving before our food...

All 5 of us walked in no one to greet us, sat ourselves down.. waited 30 minutes… Not one person ever approached us the entire time. I don’t want to say it was because of our race but there was another race there and they hand 100% of the staffs attention. I’ve never felt so discriminated in my entire life I grew up with a mixture of races and don’t feel I even see race just people… Welp that day I sadly got a small glimpse of what some races that are commonly discriminated against feel 🥹 So sad, no one should be made fell like less…What made it worse was we had our kids with us They are old enough to understand what happened and told them not everyone is like that and to not judge anyone based on a couple people who aren’t happy ☹️. It was the weirdest most awkward experience of my life… We were NOT the only ones either there was an Asia couple there also whom were also completely ignored 🥹 and also just walked out just before us, I could see the disappointment in...
