Absolutely Horrible! The reason why we booked a room at the International Inn is because Agoda had it rated a 7.9 on their site. We were staying at a beautiful place that did not have any rooms left to extend our stay, in the same area, that we also booked through Agoda. The price and rating were pretty much the same. We were expecting the same experience.
We headed over to the International Inn and the parking lot had 2 cars in it. The lobby seemed ok so I checked us in prior to the check in time. I was told that we have a very nice room and that we couldn’t smoke in the room and we would like it.
As we walked up the stairs, loaded with bags, the rugs were torn up in the hallway and my boyfriend and I almost tripped over them making it a hazard. The hallway also smelled of smoke. We got to the room that was supposed to be a non-smoking room and that caused my boyfriend to begin wheezing. He is allergic to smoke. He left the room immediately and went outside.
The room itself was very dated, there was one towel in the bathroom and a grey seat on a white toilet. There was long black hairs on the floors. I looked at the pool from the balcony and could see that the pool was very cloudy and didn’t look clean.
I had to bring all the bags back down by myself because boyfriend could not breathe from the smoky room and hallways.
After reloading the car, I immediately went to the office and turned in the keys. It was still before check in time and as we sat in the parking lot, I called Agoda immediately to dispute the room charge. We explained the situation to the Agoda customer service agent in detail and he assured me that the problem would get resolved.
Agoda recently sent me an email of denial because we could not submit proof of pictures. My boyfriend is in his 60’s and had to leave the room immediately. I am in my 50’s and had to bring the luggage back down the stairs by myself. We were just so disgusted that I wanted to get ahold of Agoda before check in time because we didn’t use the room.
After receiving the denial for a refund and speaking to an Agoda customer service agent, I called the International Inn myself and spoke to the front desk clerk about the situation. The front desk clerk said that she could not help and I would have to speak with a manager. I asked her for the managers name and contact information. She gave me the manager’s name of Lisa and as she was trying to give me the email address, I was trying to verify what she was saying and she hung up on me. I called back and she picked up the phone and she hung up on me again. It seems that no one can get ahold of...
Read moreWe booked here for a one night stay while travelling around the coast of Florida on a family holiday. We booked and paid just under $100 for overnight with no breakfast or anything via Booking com while we were on the move, based on some (as we found out) very dated reviews. We arrived and they took $100 deposit and the entrance looks like its falling down, the place is dank and dirty throughout and in need of a full refurbishment, full of what looked like live in people loitering telling us how good the place was, which was laughable.the surrounding area was like in the middle of a ghetto in honesty.|| Its advertised with a nice clean pool over looking the marina, however in reality it had green mould all in the bottom and looking at a rotten white wooden fence, so wouldn't have put my dog in this let alone let my children swim in the bacteria riddled hole. As for the rooms things really didn't get any better, furniture out of 70's I think, 2 out of 8 light bulbs worked, so very dark, so you cant see how dank the rooms actually are, only thing modern was a very cheap lcd TV, no tea / coffee making facilities at all only water supply was in aged, rank bathroom. Towels looked old & well used (makes me shiver thinking about it) Ants just parading in through the large gap under the door, air con system was filthy & just about working very noisily, no doubt it was way past a service, so very good for your health NOT!!.|| It took us 15 mins to decide we were not even spending another minute here let alone the night as it was disgusting, I went back to reception to request the deposit back & told the weird gentleman that they could keep the $100 fee as it looked like they needed it more than me. The cheeky ** at reception then said "he needs to check the room first before deposit can be given back" I couldn't belive & had to laugh. So please don't believe pictures as they are very old when the place used to be nice I assume?, but now a very run down creepy motel.|||| I would have given a zero rating if it was possible.|||| So my words of advice if your passing through Miami towards the Florida Keys keep going to Homestead & stay at Courtyard by Marriot as this was the same price for 4 of us but stunning hotel, pristine rooms full tea / coffee facilities in the room & perfect location for food, staff amazing as they even allowed my kids to use the immaculate heated pool upto 10pm with...
