I’ve been here several times over the years, and I usually enjoy it. Sometimes I go because I want a casual meal on the water, and other times, I’m just craving their pizza or pasta. The service has never been five-star, but it’s usually decent, and the food is always solid.
Well, until last night.
It started off fine—getting a server’s attention took a minute, but honestly, it was hard to tell if we even had an assigned server or if it was some kind of communal “whoever feels like it” system. Eventually, we ordered the chicken parm, spicy tequila penne, and a Caesar salad. The food arrived shockingly fast and looked amazing. We took our obligatory food pics, then dug into the pasta and salad first.
A few bites in, I went to cut up the chicken parm to split it… and that’s when the horror show began. The first piece looked fine, but when I cut into the second, I noticed it was pink. Not slightly undercooked pink—I mean, completely raw, all the way through. Like, “still clucking” raw. I even brought my phone light closer, hoping I was just imagining things, but nope—just a light sear on the edges and 100% sushi-grade chicken in the middle.
When our waitress finally wandered back by, I showed her, expecting some level of shock or concern. Instead, she barely reacted—like this was just another Tuesday. No apology, no concern, just oh, raw chicken? Got it. She whisked it away without explanation, and we assumed it’d be back quickly since, you know, cooking chicken all the way through is usually a priority.
But nope. We sat there, finished all of our pasta and salad, and still no chicken. It somehow took them 20 minutes to bring it back—about ten times longer than it took to half-cook it the first time. And when it finally returned, I’m pretty sure they just took the same piece and cooked the life out of it. It went from dangerously raw to so overcooked it could double as a hockey puck.
Even more bizarre? No manager stopped by, no one apologized, and our waitress never came back to reassure us that the kitchen was, in fact, capable of cooking chicken. Then, to top it all off, when we got the bill—the raw chicken was still on it. No discount, no comp, not even a “Sorry you almost had to test your immune system tonight.”
Look, I’ll probably be back because I’m a local, and their pizza is great. But this was beyond disappointing. If you’re thinking about ordering the chicken parm, just make sure your health insurance...

We live on Treasure Island in NBV and have been meaning to stop by here much sooner. We are kicking ourselves for taking so long to visit this 5 star restaurant.
Since it was a Monday, Petralunga has specials like 2 for 1 drinks. We enjoyed our Pinot Grigio as we searched the menu. Our very attentive server, Amanda, was so helpful and nice and answered all of our questions. She recommended the Nonna Meatballs for our appetizer, and they were great with really good seasonings!
Amanda explained that on Mondays, the pasta was 30% off. Wow, that was good news for us. So, my daughter ordered the Black Truffle Fettucine with Chicken, and I got the Lobster Ravioli. Both were delicious!! Even with the discount, they were not chintzy with the amount of meat in the dishes.
I really liked their dinnerware. The plates are thicker and heavier, probably from Italy. Nice linen napkins and lovely glassware!! Petralunga has all these extra nice details that distinguish them from other restaurants. I'm impressed.
For dessert, we decided to split a Tiramisu. Amanda prepared the Tiramisu right at our table so that it was fresh and delicious. What a unique and fun way to end a wonderful evening outside by the water at such a beautifully designed restaurant!
We wish to thank all the servers who assisted Amanda and made our evening so special. We look forward to going back soon!
I would like to mention that there is ample parking, including wheelchair accessiblability. If the available spaces are taken, then on your left before you enter Petralunga, there is a valet who does complimentary parking for you. They take very good care...
Read moreI was very excited to celebrate my recent engagement with my fiancé at a well-known and highly rated restaurant. He carefully picked out the time and date and even reserved a table three weeks before proposing. Unfortunately, the experience was not at all what I was excited for.
We came in 15 minutes early and ordered at exactly 8pm. Our food was served at 9:10pm, a little over an hour after we placed our orders. I wouldn’t have minded it being late, but what bothered me was how it was served. It was cold, not refrigerator cold, but a specific temperature that clearly meant it had been sitting in the kitchen for a good amount of time. Not only that, but our second order, the Brusklyn pizza, wasn’t even ready yet. We saw customers that were seated 20 minutes after us have their orders served before us. Those same customers ordered appetizers and dishes after us, and they all got served before we did. At first, I thought the cooks had just completely forgotten to prepare the plate, but in reality, it was also clearly just sitting in the kitchen. It was brought out by a completely different server, and served, you guessed it, cold.
I’ve worked in food service before. I understand the rush and pressure of rush hour and how some orders may slip some workers’ minds, and I would’ve just gone with my day if it was at least served properly. We saw our server three times during our two hours at this restaurant. We had plans after this dinner that we had to skip on because everyone just took too long.
As kind as our server was, an 18% gratitude being included on the bill was unacceptable. I would’ve definitely left a tip, but not one over 12%. The man who seated us apologized for the delay on the plates being served and offered a free dessert that took another 45 minutes to be served. I honestly wish our experience had been better here because it was a very...
