THE WORST SERVICE EVER!! Let me explain why I say this:

I came to sushi Erika last week and spent $120 in a delicious lunch with a bunch of Uni nigiri among other things. I decided to come back and this is what happened. I arrived at 2:45 PM and signed the waiting list for just myself. There was room for one at the bar but they did not have a chair so I had to wait for 45 minutes to finally sit down. I was so hungry that I did not have the desire to go anywhere else, but the wait was way too long for just one person. I sat down at the bar and ordered 4 pieces of Uni, 2 ikura with quail egg, a piece of snapper, a piece of monkfish liver and truffle tuna. Ten minutes after two people sat next to me. They received their rolls and appetizers before me so I ask the waiter why and he just said he was sorry. Erika could hear all this and she could just careless. She was in front of me and she never even apologized for having to wait this long. I finally got 4 pieces of Uni and the ikura at 4.25 PM! I took my time eating and I asked the waiter since it was 4.45 PM to cancel anything that Erika had not started on. That was the rest of my order actually ... I stayed in this place for TWO HOURS, two full hours, and I just ate 4 pieces of Uni and two pieces of Ikura with quail egg which should take very little time to make. Also, the presentation was very sloppy after all that wait and the wasabi had a red stain from another food. This is not the way to present $45 worth of sushi (6 pieces).

Also, I had an emergency to take care of with a plane ticket that needed to be purchased. I was super quiet on my phone talking to a representative. I was literally just whispering as I do not like when people around are loud on their phone. The music at the restaurant was quite loud and people around me were having lively conversations. However, one server had the audacity to come and tell me to get off the phone! I could not have been quieter. I understand the phone policy but use common sense when your restaurant is everything but quiet ...

I was ok paying over $100 for my lunch as I love sushi, but the service here is unacceptable. I will not come back. Erika, shame on you for not even saying a word. This is your place and you are facing customers. A simple apology is the least you could do. You just...

It's fantastic to see Erika's no frills sushi restaurant carrying on her father's Sushi Deli legacy in her in unique way. The restaurant remind me of the restaurants I have visited in Japan: small, simple, and clean, but packs a huge punch with several fresh sushi offerings which are a cut above your typical sushi joint. For example, they regularly have various types of Uni (Japanese, California, Alaska, Canada) and classic imported Japanese fish like mackerel and needlefish. The Canadian uni is quite good but the Japanese uni is phenomenal. They also have pickled fish, which will satisfy Japanese purists. The quality of the fish was excellent and served at the appropriate temperature. Their sushi rice is properly cooked and compliments the nigiri perfectly. They even have real grated wasabi ($3.50) which I've only seen at high end Japanese restaurants and takes sushi to another level. Their more Americanized rolls are also excellent like the captain roll and dragon roll. Erika and one or two other sushi chefs run the bar, meticulously preparing the sushi at a respectable speed. For appetizers, the fried baby octopus are delicious. The avocado fries is the only dish I didn't care for as the batter was not very crispy, but still a decent appetizer. Service is friendly and prompt. Prices are very reasonable. They are open only for lunch only (usually 12pm-6pm). Perhaps they will extend their hours over time. Overall, easily the best choice for exceptional quality sushi in the area served in a...

We waited 1 hour 35 minutes to be seated. No one offered us anything or let us know how long the wait was. People in front of us were offered water. When we sat. they asked us if we were ok to sit on a 2 top or 4 top table. We said 4 top because we were 3 ppl. Then we overheard them saying to another customer that only 2 people can sit on the two top because it’s a fire hazard if it’s more than two. When we got ready to order we were asked to order all at once because other people were waiting for a table. We saw the tables before us order throughout their meal. At the end I asked for a manager and mentioned to her our concerns, the waitress then said said that she ‘didn’t know anything’…She repeated that a few times. She then said to go talk to the owner. I spoke to the owner and she basically wasn’t on the same page. She also mentioned that the people that were waiting for a table had the chance to pre order their meal. How come we didn’t get the service like the rest of the customers? We were disappointed as we thought this was a hospitality driven small neighborhood spot. We can get sushi anywhere now days & better service so we won’t be...

We were very impressed with the delicious sushi here! We went on a Friday @4:00 pm and it was not crowded and we were seated immediately. Boom! Because we were very hungry. Not to worry because the server was on it! We started with the Avocado Fries, which were to die for! Dip it in the Spicy Mayo and you will be smiling immediately! Then we started with the Crispy Tuna Rice, which was soooo good!! Loved it!! Next we tried the Love Roll, which we did not like at all due to the strange bitter flavor. We had to quickly move on to get rid of the after taste, which the server said may have been the truffle oil in it. But the next ones were delicious: Crispy Shrimp Rice roll and a Salmon and Rice Bagel roll. Outstanding!!!! Not sure of the actual names of the last two that I mentioned but they were really good! Lastly, I want to mention how clean and nicely decorated the restaurant is. It's very soothing and calming! Service was excellent also. Parking is available right out front and steps away to the restaurant. We live in the neighborhood and will definitely be back!
