I booked two nights here and before we arrived we were thinking about extending it one more night, but after staying in the hotel for just a few hours we decided to book our third night somewhere else. When we arrived to check in, there was a lot of music and noise coming from the restaurant just inside the front entrance. We thought it was a club at first, with how loud it was. The only employee at the front desk was working with a couple, and there was a single teenager waiting in line behind them. The employee had a number of instances waiting for the couple at the counter to fill out whatever they were writing, and never acknowledged us or the teen in front of us. We were there for almost 10 full minutes before it was our turn. Before us though, the teen simply wanted to ask what the door code was for the public bathroom in the main hallway. There is no code apparently, and if the employee had simply acknowledged the teen while he was standing in line, he could have been on his way sooner. The employee didn't say anything to me when I approached the counter, so after a few awkward seconds I said that I was there to check in. He simply stated, "I need your ID." and held out his hand. He didn't become personable until another guest decided to just approach the counter and start talking with the employee, and then the employee started conversing. It was a strange way to be "greeted" into the hotel.
The rooms have very thin walls, and we could hear everyone walking/talking in the hall, and in the rooms next to us. Thankfully our neighbors were only loud for less than 2 hours, and turning up the TV drown them out a lot. Our room was facing the interstate, and you could hear the traffic and revving car engines all night/morning. We travel with a white noise machine, because some hotels are less quiet than others, but this was the first time we maxed out the sound on the machine. The windows and walls were just so thin. One of our neighbors had an alarm go off at 6am and we heard it with no problem. The beds weren't the worst we have slept in, but they were quite firm and my hips hurt in the mornings. The AC unit is aimed directly at one of the beds, and there is no way to adjust the vent, so if you sleep with it on, it is constantly blowing on you as it is less than 2 feet from the bed. We tried redirecting the airflow with random things around the room, but ultimately ended up just making a wall on the bed with the extra pillows, which we would have much rather used for our knees. We also had a problem keeping a steady temperature in the shower. I haven't had that problem at a hotel in at least a decade, and we were talking about it on the elevator and another guest spoke up and said they had the same problem in their room, so it seems to be a building wide problem.
We do like the location, and appreciated that parking was only $15/night. We didn't feel super safe at first, especially since the employee at check in was talking with a guest about bogus flyers that are always left throughout the property, and they don't know who is handing them out. It is apparently so bad, that one of their signs outside the building states something like "No Handouts." We didn't think anything of that at first, but then we realized that people are getting these flyers thinking that they're for a legit pizza place, which they apparently aren't, so they make a call and give their credit card info over the phone, but no pizza ever shows up. That's crazy to me! I think there is only one other door to the building, besides the main entrance, so if these scam flyers are such a problem, why aren't they shutting down that extra door and making everyone come in through the entrance, until the scam artists learn that they can't hand out their flyers there anymore? The whole place just felt strange. I've also never seen a hotel with a kids arcade area in the front entrance. I'm not sure what kind of vibe this place is trying to go for, but it's not a place we will be...

I am satisfied with his explanation that the hotel's policy for the cruise stay was not followed by staff and that there would be additional training for the front desk staff on correct procedures for cruise stay guests. Based on our conversation, I would stay at enVision should I need a hotel in Miami and have updated my ratings for the hotel to reflect Mr Caesar's response and resolution.
ALERT I was hoping this would be my go-to Miami pre cruise hotel, and it was, up until we were scammed at departure. We chose the hotel because it was close to the airport and offerrd one-way transportation to the Port of Miami cruise terminal. We checked in and purchased 2 cruise port transfers which we were told we had to pay cash for. The male Guest Service Agent (GSA) told us to be in the lobby by 9:30 and check in with the desk, which we did. Unfortunately, the female GSA behind the desk in the morning spoke NO English. We said we were there for the cruise shuttle and after repeating it several times saying we had paid for the shuttle, she pointed to a man in the lobby who said he was the driver. He took our luggage, took us to the port, and charged us $80. We protested that we had paid for the shuttle and he and the hotel GSA said he was the driver. He said he didn't know what arrangement we had with the hotel but that was the fee. We didn't have time to argue so we paid him. The Good. The hotel itself was fair for the price, the beds were comfortable, and the restaurant and bar were noisy but very good. The Bad. 1. We were scammed. 2. Front desk staff should at least be bilingual in English. 3. Because of the bar, the hotel is rowdy late at night with motorcycles racing around the parking lot after the bar closed. 4. Whoever thought carpeting a lonnng hallway between the lobby and the elevators never had to roll luggage (guests were helping other guests push their luggage down the hall). 4. I was told the final bill would be emailed to me, but it's been almost a month and I haven't...
Read moreI would not recommend this hotel. The positives first…staff there are professional, courteous, and helpful. They were kind and accommodating. There is a brewery/restaurant attached to the hotel that we really enjoyed. The wait staff and bartenders were great; food selection is fairly limited, somewhat pricey, but delicious. The pool area and pool were a relaxing retreat. The bed was comfy, but the hotel itself and our room was pretty dilapidated, except for the front lobby area. The bathroom tub area was rusted and tile was old with grouting that was old and dirty looking. Furniture was old; drawers were difficult to pull out and when you pulled out one, you pulled them all out. The flooring was coming up in the room, and things appeared to be caulked, recaulked, and caulked again. Tub did not drain well, and was a quarter full after a shower. Rooms do not have microwaves which is pretty standard just about anywhere else. There were also bugs in the room. Some looked like mutant ants that were black and red, and were crawling out from the bed headboard area. We were traveling with pets and within a few hours of their dry food sitting on the floor, the food bowls were covered in tiny black bugs, emanating from the floor boards. They were not ants; I have no idea what they were. There is a tiny TV with limited options. The hotel is located next to a busy freeway and the noise, was constant. I don’t think the windows were sound proof because you could hear every vehicle going by- all night long. The hotel is also very close to the airport; in fact, one of the runways is literally across the street behind some industrial buildings, and we listened to the roar of planes taking off until the wee hours of the morning. I am hearing impaired, and I could still hear all the highway and airport noise. If you have a car, the location isn’t too bad. There are restaurants and shopping options a couple of miles away. If you don’t have a car, there is really nothing walkable near the hotel. It is probably fine for a very short-term stay, but wouldn’t recommend the hotel or location for more than a...
