Literally the worst place you could chose to stay. Do yourself a favor and steer clear. From the moment I checked in the lady was trying to convince me to take a smoking room even though I said I don't smoke. When I came to tell her my non-smoking room smells like someone smoked a whole cigar into the curtains, her response was that it's a non-smoking room and I need to make sure I don't smoke in there... I'm like umm lady I'm telling you now on day one so you don't come at me for a fee at the end just to avoid cleaning your rooms well enough. Eventually she let me see another non-smoking room and I came back to her to say obviously they all smell like smoke, I'll stay where I am but please notate my complaint so I don't have to argue about it when I check out. Then they provide one roll of toilet paper. Use that and you have to go to the front desk to ask for more. There is no consistent housekeeping. The sheets on the bed are not fitted, so if you wanna avoid touching the nasty mattress you have to constantly adjust and re-tuck the flat sheet that is for a much smaller bed. After a week in the hotel I extended my stay out of necessity and went to ask for fresh towels and bed linens. The lady first made sure to let me know I need to check out soon and when I said I'd already extended my stay online she tells me I cannot stay longer than 3 weeks max. She then stood there arguing with me in front of other customers about why I can't have fresh sheets and eventually gave me the sheets but said she won't give a new blanket because blankets don't get changed that often. Seriously, even though the price seems appealing, it's not worth the stress, don't stay here. I only did because I was in a dangerous life-threatening situation and had to go anywhere I could afford. Don't...
Read moreAttending a program at local hospital and needed a reasonably priced place to stay as I don't drive at night. Americas Best Value Inn met my location criteria and offered a Senior rate which stayed within my financial budget. I was greeted professionally upon my arrival. I had requested a non-smoking room (yes folks, this motel still offers smoking rooms). I had also wanted air conditioning especially in the over 90 degree heat wave we were experiencing. When I walked into the room, it was spotless and I do mean spotless. However, it was also warm as the AC was not on and once turned on it blew warm air. I immediately went back to the office and the manager walked back with me. He adjusted the dials, told me to go to my program and that the room would be perfect upon my return. I went on my way and true to his word the room was beautifully cool when I got back. The room is compact but not cramped. The bed was made tight and neat. The linens were real cotton and ironed to perfection. Towels were fully stocked and bright white. There was an iron and ironing board, small fridge, microwave and TV though not flat screen etc. it worked just fine and offered a multitude of channels. My only complaint that I mentioned to the manager in the morning was that there was a powerful odor not an offensive smell but powerful at least to me. I am highly sensitive to fragrances/odors and can get migraines. He was not offended and when he mentioned what products were used to keep the room so spotless I recognized the culprit. So would I stay here...
Read moreStayed there because of a snowstorm. I work in Middletown and live 45 minutes drive away. desk clerk barely speaks English. Room rate online was $56 which she supposedly confirmed at the time of reservation. That jumped to $80 at check in. the room was freezing and it took nearly 2 hours of running the heater on high to make it tolerable. in the morning it took the water 15 minutes to get warm enough for a shower. upon attempting to leave for work I discovered that the lot had not been plowed overnight despite 8 inches of snow on the ground. When I asked the clerk what time the lot was going to be plowed she had no idea. I attempted to make my way out but got stuck and had to return to my parking space. then she told me the snowplow driver was sleeping in the room next to mine. But again she had no idea when he would begin clearing the lot. Finally around 7:30 he came out of his room and began to plow. By then I had already given up and contacted a coworker to pick me up. Realizing I would have to leave my car there I reluctantly paid for another night. Upon returning that evening I discovered that my car had been plowed in and was forced to dig it out with a small emergency shovel. This place has no idea how to care for their guests and I would not recommend ever...
