I have never been in such a horrible Econo Lodge. The front lobby had an oder, covered by something floral smelling. The side entrance was not secured, the "guts" if the electronic portion was missing and would not close. Let's not forget the lights in the stairwell we're not working, we used the flashlight on our phones...but, by morning, they placed a floor lamp in the corner for lighting.
Then we went to our rooms. Room #1: dark stains in the carpet...like, I would not let my dog walk on it if she was with me....let alone putting my bare feet in it. Missing electric wall plates missing, walls looked like they were partially painted, mold in the upper corner of the room.
Room#2: OMG...the shower curtain was covered in mold...and not a small amount.... disgusting. So, the front desk GAVE US a new shower curtain to replace the nasty one. and Then the bed cover...looked like a baby had drolled all over it, after drinking milk....and the "dark" dried mass on another section. Again, they GAVE US the cover to replace. Then the shower would not drain, so they just removed the tub stopper....let alone the toilet would not flush properly...the solution...just hold the handle until it drains...that is how the new ones work. If they would have looked in the bottom of the toilet, they would have noticed the heavy rust stains...not new to me. Guess they thought I was a woman and thought I was stupid.
When we returned the next afternoon, approximately 4:30pm, our rooms had not been touched. At that point, I went down to the main desk, and ask why our rooms had not been clean. The excuse was good help is hard to find. We went back up the steps, and the fellow cleaning the rooms was in the hallway. At that point I've said about the shower curtain and the bed cover and pulled it out of the laundry basket to show that person how disgusting it was. They said they would be right in to clean our rooms, and I explain to them we all needed to get showers to leave to go to dinner. They could do that after we were done with our showers. The man said that he would be there in a half an hour and I explain that is not enough time for three ladies to get a shower and to get ready to leave.
The morning we checked out, I went down to the front desk and explained that I felt it was necessary that the room with the nasty shower curtain and bed cover be reimbursed for at least one day stay for the conditions of that room. Billy, the supervisor, was at the front desk and said that he would have to check with the manager to see what they could do. When I spoke to the girls who were staying in that room a few hours later, they gave them back 10% of one night stay which amounted to $9 and change.
If you look on their website, they are constantly apologizing for the conditions of their rooms, and this has been for years. At this point I believe the Better Business Bureau needs to be contacted which we will do to look at this hotel, and possibly the Department of Health should look into this room. If they have you check into room 207 or 208...stay away...nasty..
I'm sure there will be an apology on their website... seriously, this place needs gutted and...
Read moreThe hotel looks nice from the outside, but that's it. It doesn't have any on amenities, they say. While the front desk woman was nice, she was new and didn't know how to take a pet fee at all. It took an hour to check in to start, only to find the room had the TV stolen out of it and was not cleaned for our stay. Beds stripped and trash all over the room. When we reported this, they went to two other room that had not been cleaned as well, along with the whole second floor being dirty, causing the guy behind us in line to have similar issues. When we finally got a room clean enough to stay in, we noticed they still had not cleaned out the fridge and freezer. We dealt with it. The guy who was supposed to help the woman at the desk had left for a doctor appt. Without checking to see if she needed help. Another worker in the building is the one who solved our check-in problem. This male employee just felt he could yell at the two of them as well as ny husband for disturbing him at his appointment. Though he yelled that his groceries were melting. So, they have major employee issues. He didn't get any nicer during the stay. Watch him yell at the maid that was left. Yell at the front desk person for everything she did right or wrong. I went to try and use their laundry, and he came barreling down the hallway, hollering it did not work. I said ok and went to take my stuff back. It's no big deal, but he proceeded to block the entrance and my leaving. Yelling rather than explaining it did not work and would steal my money. I squeezed my way out and went back to my room. Muttering, they should have a sign. He grumbled down the hallways for my husband to hear about a nasty guest. The pool is nonexistent, crossed off the directory, removed from the room maps, and boarded up from what I could see. Nobody had answers for why or if it even was. No breakfast, either even though it was advertised. Honestly, the only good thing is how close it is to the wonderful Family Drive Inn. One of the reasons I came to the area and kept returning to the area. Avoid wasting your money, there are other hotels in the area to stay in just as close. So, enjoy the drive-in but get a better hotel. You're worth more than they will ever offer. P.S. don't call corporate they don't care, and this place wants $150 for pet fees that u will not get back and corporate just blames the third party if u book through there or your bank. They do not care about the hotel being...
Read moreI can't state strongly enough just how dreadfully dismal the facilities are. To put it bluntly, this lodge & inn needs to be closed and then imploded. There is no hope for this facility, especially with the current management running it.
I have pictures of the dilapidated room I stayed in. The door would unlock, but not open (had to use great force to open it). Broken curtain rod. Disgusting filth on the walls, doors, and tub. Tub spigot loose and an half inch off of the wall creating fear of mold.
There were no tissues in the room. There was no extra roll of toilet paper. The television was tiny. The walls were barren of decoration except for one picture. The closet was just a projection into the room. The comforter is a scanty, measly, unwashed, piece of cloth. Be careful, don’t drop a ring in either the sink or tub. No strainers.
The "free breakfast" was depressing and confounding (nothing but bad regular coffee and miniature honey buns that were crushed and stale). And, no lids for your coffee cup. The hallways were dingy. The parking lot is dark (no good lighting), disintegrated, and littered with trash.
The desk clerk was curt, terse, and taciturn. Not welcoming in any way.
All this at an inflated price. Regardless of the above, for this location, this room was easily $25 over priced. If I could rate this room less than 1 star or a 1 out of ten I would.
Cease business at this location for your own good.
For reference, I stayed in 4 different rooms that weekend. The other three were more than acceptable. The previous night (10/9) I stayed in a superb and far superior Econo Lodge in Lenoir City, TN. and the room rate was only $82.00. The workers warm, inviting, and willing to go the extra mile. The condition of the whole facility was well kept and updated....
