The hotel was nice with modern public areas. There was a nice pool in the courtyard That looked clean and welcoming. I received a complimentary upgrade to a very nice and specious room which I am very grateful for. All thou I did not get much sleep as I had to leave for the airport at 4am the bed was extremely comfortable.
The room was quiet considering the hotel is close to the airport and wifi was very stable. Huge plus was that the room, as well as the facilities were very very clean.
I would like to give my special “thanks” to the night receptionist who assisted me with taxi at 4am. There was a lot of issues with trying to order a taxi this early in the morning but the receptionist went out of his way to help me.
My husband is a General Manager of a hotel in the United Kingdom so I know a thing or two about the industry. I have to say this receptionists level of customer service was outstanding and above the par.
The only bad experience was the check in. As an international traveler and to avoid high bank fees for the use of my credit or debit card. I used cash to pay for everything during this trip.
Paying “cash” was imposible at this hotel as they simply don’t accept it.
If you are an international traveler this might be something to consider when booking a hotel.
I understand that there is a “covid worry” however, United Stated Dollar just like Great British Pound or the Euro are still a legal tender and should be accepted. Especially, at a hotel this close to an international airport.
As I was unable to use the cash I had ready for this hotel, when I added up my banks foreign transaction fee and a poor exchange rate the hotel room ended up costing me $123 instead of $110;
I think this would not be such a bad thing if I was made aware of it in advance to my arrival. I’m fact, however. When my partner called the hotel to make sure everything is OK before I arrive, he informed the hotel that the reservation was made by him and was guaranteed with his credit card but, it was booked under my name and I will be paying cash on arrival. There was no mention that the hotel is not accepting cash by the staff.
Sadly it’s the check in process that soured the experience just a bit.
As payment form is something very important I think the information “that the hotel dose not accept cash” should he ralated to the guest not only prior to arrival but also and especially at the time of booking.
Many international travelers and especially those that arrive as a tourist. Exchange their currency for USD and operate with cash to avoid foreign transaction fees imposed by their banks or a credit card issuer.
“Not accepting cash” is a vital piece of information that should be related to the guest at the time of booking.
All in all even thou this was a very short stay, it was a pleasant stay. I would certainly consider this La Quinta in the future if I’m in need of a...
Read moreTo start, I'm a female solo traveler. This hotel is by no means fancy but my room was good enough. I had a king-size to myself. Everything was clean upon arrival and I even got an early check-in at no fee which pleasantly surprised me and it was a relief because I took a red-eye flight and was looking forward to some proper rest. I never called for housekeeping because I'm by myself and I'm usually very clean so I can't comment on it. However, the staff are kind and never gave me any problems. There's a lock and a latch and it's key-card locked. I locked everything esp as a solo traveler and felt safe.
Location: Amazing. Quiet residential neighborhood. I kind of got lost on my way back from a concert. It was literally 2 AM when I came back- no buses, phone was dead. I had no choice but to walk & while it was dark, it was empty. I wish it was more well-lit but I got to the hotel safely. As a female solo traveler, you really should avoid these situations but in the daytime, it's very much the same: quiet and empty. Lots of places to pick up food! I had Mike's Pizza, McD's, Trader Joe's, all great stuff. Bus stop is only a 5-10 min walk away. I love it so much.
Amenities: Free sample shampoo/condi/lotion/body wash but if you're staying more than 4 nights then you need more lol. Kitchenette with lots of utensils, microwave, fridge, stove, coffeemaker. I made a lot of Cup Noodles. There's a little store at the front desk where I bought the noodles and soda, good prices. Aircon was working fine, I was perfectly cold lol. TV was a little wonky but worked most of the time. Wifi was good.
Extra notes: Good breakfast options! Loved the juice, sausages, eggs and pastries. Room can get dark when you close doors & shades (which I like!). Thin-ish walls so sometimes you'll hear running or thuds but it was soft enough where it didn't bother me. There is $100 deposit but it was given back. No shuttle but BART station is close.
Long review but this was my first time traveling alone and I couldn't have asked for a better experience for my money. Thank you for taking care of...
Read moreThe staff here was very welcoming, friendly, and wonderful to deal with. The beds were very comfortable too! Those, however, are the only positives of this hotel.||When we checked in, there was a confusion in the reservation and my card was charged twice. They blamed it on me, because I didn't book through them, I booked online. What?? This was finally fixed, about two weeks later.||We stayed for about a week because we were closing an old family office. About three days in, we found and took some very old family photos (40's and 50's) back to our room. We kept them inside a wooden box near the door. The next morning, we found the wooden box was wet and the photos inside were soaked and stuck together. We couldn't figure out what happened, but in an attempt to save the photos, they were all over every square inch of our room as we tried to dry them and unfortunately, they all curled and some were ruined because of being stuck together. We spoke with the front desk and they thought it could be the heating unit that leaked onto the floor. They offered us a room change, which was appreciated, but then we were moving all of our things (and all of our wet photographs) at 9:00 at night.||Once in the second room, the heater unit didn't leak but was super noisy! We also didn't get any sleep the next few nights because of being right next to both the elevator and the ice machine - both of which seemed to run almost all night long. And the elevator doors have a habit of SLAMMING shut every time.||Lastly, the rest of our family had to leave early due to weather over the mountains on our way back home. I had purposely bought cancellation insurance when booking the hotel just for this reason. I was denied a refund for these two nights. Why? I ended up paying for cancellation insurance that I couldn't even use and two more nights that we didn't use either.||One problem after another, and we will...
