First of all, the primary reason we stayed at this hotel was due to the “haunted tours” or “ghost hunts” they offer on the property. We inquired about this at the time of booking and we were told a time for this would be arranged during check-in. Upon checking in the evening of 3/19/21, we were greeted by a female (whose mask was being used as a chin strap while she coughed incessantly). When we asked to schedule the ghost tour, she stated she would pass our contact information along to the owner who conducts the tours, and to expect a call from him. By Saturday afternoon, we hadn’t heard from the owner as promised, so we called the hotel again. We were again promised an immediate call from the owner to schedule this, and the clerk stated, “he is right down the hallway, I’ll go grab him and he will call you back in the next few minutes”. We never received a call. Tonight, we were chilling in our room and heard a lot of noise in the hallway. It was a ghost tour that we weren’t included in because- despite asking three times- nobody acknowledged us. Next is the restaurant downstairs. We dined in the night we arrived (3/19/21), and ordered carry out for breakfast the morning of 3/20/21. When dining in, we waited at the “please wait to be seated” sign for several minutes while all the staff ignored the fact that we were there. Finally someone yelled that we could just sit where we want. Dinner was terrible in every way possible. Though the server was very kind, he never came back to check on us after dropping of our meal. Our glasses sat empty while we choked down our food. The staff were having personal conversations within earshot of customers. The tropical mixed drink was very good- that was the only good part of the experience. This morning when my husband went to pick up our carry out breakfast, he had another terrible experience. A gentleman was sitting alone in a booth waiting to be acknowledged. He waited, and waited, and waited. He finally asked the server- a pregnant female- if he could be waited on. She very rudely yelled at him, “I TOLD YOU IT WOULD BE A MINUTE”! The man just put his head down in embarrassment. Our breakfast food was as awful as dinner had been. It obviously all came from some bag in a freezer. The shower head had only half the sprayers working. You could stand right under it and not even get wet. There is no mini-fridge or microwave- no amenities whatsoever. Parking is horrendous, but we got lucky a couple of times. The only reason we stayed at this hotel was for the ghost tour. This was the most disappointing lodging experience we have ever had. We paid an exceptionally high price for a very archaic hotel with extremely outdated fixtures and decor. And a very, very...

So, I made reservations through Book It for 2 nights. A few hours after we checked in, the front desk called to make arrangements for a late check in. I explained she already checked us in a few hours earlier. I confirmed our room number, she sounded confused and hung up. Fast forward 3 weeks later and I noticed we were charged twice for the rooms. I called the hotel and what I believe to be the owner was very nice when I explained the double charge on my card. Soon her demeanor changed and became very curt. She stated I had made a reservation and so had my husband under his name for the same 2 nights. After thinking back, I realized I began the reservation but didn't finish it because I wanted to use my card, not my husband's. I then went back and completed the reservation with my card, little did I know, I must have gone too far in the process and it went through without me finishing it. The lady refused to refund the 2nd reservation. She stated it was basically my own fault even though WE WERE IN HER HOTEL the entire weekend, it's not like we were a no show! And why didn't the desk clerk pick up on two last names with the same date, we do have an unusual name, too. After calling another privately owned local hotel and discussing my situation, the manager said considering the circumstances, she would have absolutely refunded the 2nd booking considering it was an honest mistake. This manager also gave me Book It's phone number which is impossible to find, she also said they can only charge for 1 night, not both due to Book It's policy. Book It had me call the owner and insist she issue a partial refund which she finally agreed to do but was NASTY about it. We will never return to this hotel, ever. We still had to pay the 150/160 for the one night, but I've decided to fight that too at this point. I still can't get over how quickly she got nasty with me once she realized I had made the error. We spent a lot of money there that weekend, breakfast, drinks & appetizers both nights at their bar and tips to their bands. For PR sake, she could have been more understanding of an...

Well I have a lot to say about hotel Millersburg I've stayed at a couple of different hotels in my life upscale to but my entire family all four of us thought that this hotel was one of the cleanest hotels we have ever stayed in I even have a Marriott's Rewards and you can still walk into a Marriott Hotel and find dirt and dust and broken toilet seats toilet paper missing their stingy about the extra towels.... let me get back to hotel Millersburg love you guys I want to come back to Millersburg just to stay in your hotel again and the restaurant me and my family were Foodies it wasn't the best we've ever had but it was certainly very good food I have no problems with what we ate one of my pork chops was a little dry you can tell they're not used to people not liking something she was a little confused it was funny she was a little confused as to what do I do now but it was fine Hotel Millersburg my family adores you so if you're going to Amish Country trust me stay there thanks again for everything The Wood Family... oh by the way I would have gave you 6 stars...

Great quaint old town hotel. This place is well renovated in keeping with its past but a slight splash of modern . The in house restaurant, The Grover is great place to eat even if your not a guest. The atmosphere is the same, old with newer touches mixed in. The food is excellent whether it's breakfast or dinner you want , loved the Presidential for breakfast and don't pass on the ribs at dinner time. The fish and chips were really good for a fish entre. And another great thing was my long neck Buds came pretty cold everytime. Staff was always good and fun to cut up with. Now top all that, the place has some haunting activity to boot. Never experienced any of it but at least one guest had something happen to them while we were there for our three days. Only nailed them at four stars because our bed was fairly stiff , and bothered our backs. If there was a 4.5 star, I would rate our experience there. So if you ain't skeered , give them a try.

I gave the hotel this rating because I'm a history fan. We had an enjoyable personal tour by a knowledgeable gentleman. He knew a great deal about the history of the area in general. The restaurant is worth eating in. (See separate review.) The curiously uneven floor added interest, but doesn't make it easy to get around on the 3rd floor. I recommend you book on the 2nd floor. It was a bit newer, larger rooms. The hotel needs to rip up the old indoor/outdoor rugs & tackle the musty odor. The mattress is too firm for our liking. Everything is clean, but the maid is a bit pushy about the tip envelope. Millersburg is out of the central Amish tourist area by about 10 minutes (West). I would say, if you adore history like me, go see this place with it's tin ceilings, old photographs, & have a bite at the restaurant. Stay somewhere else.
