We had the esteemed pleasure of dining at The Cider Press for Valentine’s Day. My wife and I brought our 15 month old baby. Pookie, who was our server, greeted us at the door and already had the high chair set up and ready to go at our table! The eloquent ambiance of the restaurant felt very intimate, romantic, and inviting, but it wasn’t at all stuffy, pretentious, or over the top. It was the perfect vibes for what we were looking for on this day of love. Pookie was courteous, well knowledgeable of the menu (especially with the drinks on tap), and respectful. She always came by our table to check on us with a smile. As it turns out, Pookie’s mom was the head chef in the kitchen. We were afforded a chance to meet her and she was delightful! The food was delicious by the way! You could tell it was made with all the intentions of providing a comfortable, home cooked meal like most of us Midwesterns felt as kids growing up. The Cider Press is a place for couples, singles, families, and any other dynamic of social interactions. We will be back, and I encourage anyone reading this review to just go down and check it out for yourself! Thank you again, Pookie, for everything! And please tell your mom hello and she is doing a wonderful job at the restaurant.

Hidden gem!! I travel a lot and I’m from an area with some pretty legit food offerings (and a lot of wannabe’s), so when I say this isn’t your average establishment and worth your time, I mean it! The food here is trendy with home cooked comfort. Helpings are huge and the attention detail should make these plates cost twice as much. I only was in town on business for two nights but found myself there both nights. The side salad starts it off with hydroponic grown leaf lettuce and a balsamic vinaigrette I could do shots of. They offer gluten free pasta and the two options I had (Parmesan encrusted pork chop with a cream sauce, spinach and zucchini and an Italian sausage with peppers and onions) both were outstanding. Rich flavors, great seasoning and non-boxed or jarred sauces. They have a great selection of non alcoholic and hard ciders and I had to try two of the NA h night. Service was FAST and the wait team made Chick-fil-a look rude🤣. This place is worth the time whether you’re local or not.

My husband and I went around 7pm on Thursday and there was no wait. Our waitress was amazing and so incredibly sweet! We started out with the pretzel bites with the house made honey mustard and I have to say those are a 10/10! I had the blackened chicken Alfredo with a side salad with the house made balsamic vinaigrette. I like the chicken but it needed to be by itself I felt like the Alfredo was bland and didn't mesh well with the chicken which to me had a more sweet taste than spice. The salad with dressing was really good! My husband has the Swiss mushroom burger with chips and Mashed potatoes and he really liked it but felt like the chips could use some salt. Everyone is different and has different taste buds but I absolutely recommend trying them out if you are in the area!!

If you're visiting Berlin, Millersburg or any place nearby, do yourself a solid and do not waste your time or money at this "Restaurant" We walked through the door at 6:45pm, and the place seemed great. We were greeted from the kitchen with "We'll be right with you". We waited for 5 minutes for someone to finally come seat us. And this is where it went downhill. As I scanned the restaurant, the place was maybe, maybe half full. A lot of the patrons were already eating, or finished eating and socializing. Our waitress, a young girl with blonde hair and blue highlights sat us and took our drink order. She returned with our drinks within 5 minutes. Meanwhile, she was heard chatting it up with a table, not taking orders, not checking on customers, but having a social hour. We waited another 10 minutes on her to return to take our order. When we finally ordered, 2 other tables had been seated. We both ordered Chicken Parm which comes with a side salad and garlic bread. While we sat there, we watched the other 2 tables order their dinner. We sat there for another 35 minutes waiting for drink refill, a simple side salad or literally any sign of life, the other 2 tables received their side salads as well as their food. When I finally got tired of waiting and aggravated, I walked to the kitchen counter to see our side salads sitting there and our "waitress" once again chatting it up with another table. The gentleman asked if I needed help, I said yes, I've been waiting 35 min for our side salads and pointed at them. 2 min later, we received our salads. A male server or manager came to our table and kneeled down. He asked if there was a problem, I advised him kindly that we had waited 40 minutes for our salads. At this point, he attempts to insult my intelligence as well as in a condescending tone say......"We had no clean plates and needed to wash them". Okay, with a restaurant that had 26 people in there (max), you ran out of clean plates? Okay, whatever let's just get our food. He advised that he didn't want upset customers, and added further insult by saying I can knock a dollar off your meal. Are you kidding me? He should know better that it's not about knocking a buck off the meal, but the complete lack of service and restaurant knowledge that this places shows. Our waitress finally came back and asked if we would like a different noodle for our chicken parm? Confused, I asked why would I want a different noodle type. She advised that they "were out" of the noodles that came with the chicken parm. I said I did not want a different noodle and was contemplating a different dinner. The waitress responds with, "well, we're not out of stock, they just don't have any made". Seriously? You tell someone you're out of noodles when you just don't have any made?? Pot of boiling water and 10 minutes, abracadabra.....Noodles. Our food finally came out, 1 hour and 5 minutes after we sat down. The "chicken parm" was so runny, it was nearly soup. The "garlic bread" was non existent as they did not bring it out. The chicken was extremely rubbery and undercooked. We asked our waitress about the garlic bread, she said "oh shoot, I'll bring it right out". 10 minutes later, no bread but she was chatting it up with a table once again. I saw the male server or manager and asked about the bread, he said oh yes that's supposed to come with that meal. The waitress never returned to finalize our bill, we never received a refill etc. I was presented with a bill along with zero apology. The male asked if he could do anything for us to help, I advised i just wanted to pay my bill, and not be disrespected any further. I already spoke to him about ALL of these issues, which he did nothing about (besides speak in a condescending tone)I paid my bill and left. To say the least, I will never return to this "Restaurant". I will be sure to tell every person I come across about my experience here. This was 100% addressed with the restaurant at the time of our unfortunate visit. I voiced my concerns and the issues we were having at...

We went to the Cider Press on Saturday night of Labor Day weekend to celebrate a family birthday. Despite it being a Saturday night, there was only one waitress for the entire restaurant who was also, apparently, bar tending. Despite the extensive list of ciders on the menu, many of them were not in stock. There were actually only 4 choices for the 4 choice flight. One person in our party asked the waitress' opinion about two drink choices, one a mixed drink and one a cider. The waitress recommended the cider. Later, when I asked why she recommended the cider, she said because it was easier for her. I give her props for honesty; not so much for customer care. As we started to attempt to place our dinner orders, it became obvious that ciders were not the only thing they were out of. After being told my original choice was not available, I settled on the fish and chips and cole slaw. My son also ordered a dish that was supposed to come with cole slaw. After our orders were in for a bit, the waitress returned to tell me there was not cole slaw and would I like watermelon chunks with my fish instead. I did not. I told her I wanted to order something different, to which she replied, "But it is already made." I told her that was not my fault. She went back to the kitchen to tell the cook, who replied loud enough for the whole dining room to hear something along the lines of customers shouldn't expect they'll have everything on the menu when they are going to be closed for several days. I was shocked at that absolutely inappropriate and loud comment. I stuck with the fish and asked for a side salad, for which they up-charged me until I asked them to take the upcharge off the bill. The fish was tasteless, after all of that. Beyond the mediocre food and the seriously inflated prices, I am most astounded at the attitude of the staff toward customers. No one should pay over 100 dollars for a meal and be treated like the staff is doing...

My wife and I chose the Cider Press for dinner tonight 4/18/2024. First impressions were good when we first went in. Order drinks, no straws. Ordered fried pickles for appetizer (no small plates had to ask), I asked if I could have some wing sauce waitress said no they are only for wings. Salad came, I asked her for some Parmesan cheese she told me no they didn't have any. (menu had pasta). The napkins were polyester so l asked for regular napkins she informed me they were out but could get me paper towels, I said no thanks. I ordered (get this) PARMESAN Crusted pork chop over bow tie pasta, my wife ordered chicken PARMESAN both came with a roll with Parmesan cheese, I asked for some butter for both of us waitress left and returned to inform us that they did not have any extra! We did not want anything for free, we never were given the option for everything we requested. Also there was a large crowd of 20 + or - They were so noisy we had to yell at each other to hear, no big deal a large party with be loud I guess they were really loud. We should have never been seated right by them. Water glass empty had to stop waitress. Oh our waitress was not waiting on large party. So, No straws, not that bad. No Parmesan cheese FOR YOU, with Italian dishes. No napkins. Fresh out! No wing sauce, for you, l've never been told it's only for wings! Is ketchup only for fries? No butter For You No plates for appetizers- For You No salt or pepper on table for You. This was like a...
