(* UPDATE STAY WAS FROM 4/11/2024 TO 4/14/2024 *) -To be perfectly honest, I like Homes to Suites by Hilton. Just from the hotel being part of the Hilton brand. Hilton has high standards, and that’s what attracts me and my family into staying with Hilton hotels. This being my second stay at this particular location, I was actually disappointed and disgusted this time around.
My wife and I stayed here back in the summer about 5yrs ago to visit and have the pleasure of attending State Fair after flying in to Milwaukee from South Florida. It was an enjoyable experience. The room was clean, spacious with a kitchenette. Very nice and quiet as well with a few grills, pool, gym and firepit for guests to enjoy. So this time around, I didn’t hesitate to book a room again at the hotel while I came to visit my family.
This visit, I arrived early before check in and was allowed to check into my room with no extra fees which was greatly appreciated. I got in my room, which look clean, warm and comfortable. I unpacked a few things and laid down and took a nap. When I awakened, I decided to shower and change before going out. While in the shower I noticed a tiny roach crawling on one of the glass shower doors. I threw water on it until it went down to shower drain.
Day #2, when I got in for the evening, after putting a few things on the counter next to the dresser, I saw another small roach that unfortunately, by the time I grabbed something to kill it with, it had already crawled into a crevice in the drawer area and I couldn’t find it. I honestly couldn’t believe that I was starting to see roaches in different places of the room.
On the 3rd evening after coming in from family, once I turn on the lamp near the bed, I took my shoes off and placed them next to another pair that I had worn previously, ANOTHER small roach was crawling on my shoe. I quickly tried to knock it out, but it crawled into the gym shoe. It seemed like every night, when I came for the evening and hit the lights, I would see at least one someone. At that point, I banged all my shoes together hoping that if there was anything in them, it would have fallen to the floor. I shook out every single article of clothing I had, packed my suitcase and was thanking God it was my last night because I was really paranoid about possibly taking some back home with me within my clothes or suitcase, shoes, toiletries bags etc! When I arrived back home in Florida, I literally kept my suitcase fully zipped until I was able to shake things out outside and throw everything in my washing machine.
I hope nothing was brought back home in something because German roaches are a pain to get rid of! So my advice is be careful with your belongings while visiting this hotel. It was a great disappointment, especially after having such a great experience a 5 years back. These were tiny roaches, so that means there are definitely more within the hotel and paying $581.07 for three nights of that, just isn’t worth the headache. I would not come back nor recommend. For the Hilton brand , this was VERY DISAPPOINTING.
—————————— (5yrs Ago) I loved my stay @ Homes 2 Suites Milwaukee Airport. The location was great, great staff and the King Suite definitely exceeded my expectations. I’m a neat freak and I felt extremely comfortable in our king suite. A full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, jacuzzi, pool, gym, breakfast, free parking, gas barbecue grills w/ firepit! It was amazing!!!! What more can you ask for?!? I’m definitely gonna book a suite again the next time I’m...
Read moreAlways love Home2 Suites! From being able to pick out exact room with digital keys to blackout shades and spacious rooms they never fail to impress. The staff are always friendly and quick to respond to anything. We stayed at the hotel when we visited a handful of drive through Christmas lights and stopped at the Discovery Center/Aquarium. Our Hilton app asked us earlier in the day when we planned to arrive, then later noticed us when our room was ready and provided the digital key, allowing us to proceed straight to our room with our bags and kids in tow. During our stay we enjoyed time in the pool, which by the way is salt water (good for your skin and doesn't sting like chlorine). There is not hot tub (used to be based on design), but that didn't matter to us! Water was warm enough to walk straight in (I do not like cold pools). The built in bench in the pool at the deep end is a cool feature that let's you sit in the water while kids jump in or play on the deep side.
Our night was peaceful, even how surprisingly close it is to the airport. We were on the top floor about middle of the hotel just a few doors from the elevator. I'm a super sensitive sleeper and got a great night's sleep!
In the morning we enjoyed breakfast in the lobby. It was a full spread from waffles to egg sandwiches to bagels and muffins to cereal and fruit. Was absolutely perfect as always.
The rooms have full size fridges (important as we always have full gallons of milk and other items). The counter space is amazing. There are plates, cups, utensils, etc. If you have little ones, be careful of the sharp knives in the drawers. We turned around to our 2.5 year old holding a sharp knife. He was trying to be "helpful" by grabbing a utensil from the drawer. We ended up checking any drawer/ cabinet his height and just putting anything dangerous on a higher shelf. Nothing bad happened, just something to keep in mind...
Read moreWe stayed, with our dog Roscoe, at this hotel for 12 consecutive nights while awaiting the readiness of our apartment. It was a perfect extended stay and felt like home. The room was laid out with intelligence and had outstanding storage space. A kitchen kept us fed too well, the only thing lacking was a range, which wasn’t missed. There are multiple excellent restaurants nearby, and the 21st century allows for food prep without an oven. Home2 Suites will provide a cooktop if needed.
The bathroom was copious, again with great storage. Towels were thick, and housekeeping provided enough for fresh ones every day. Our room was cleaned well by request. Hot water and excellent pressure was appreciated. We did bring our own bath soap and shampoo, as Home2 Suites is not a luxury brand, and liquid soap/shampoo doesn’t make me happy.
A clean gym, with decent equipment, helped me try to keep in shape, and the attached FREE laundry room allowed me to do my wash while I exercised. It was perfect! Breakfast, something we didn’t take advantage of, is provided every morning free of charge. With all these amenities providing comfort, the best aspect of this Home2 Suites near the Milwaukee Airport was the staff. They were always friendly, remembered our names, and bent over backwards to be helpful. They are still phoning us when our random mail shows up at their hotel. If you have a dog, the hotel is surrounded by lots of grass, and it provides baggies and receptacles. While the immediate area may be airport/industrial, Grant Park, an enormous and gorgeous park lying smack dab on Lake Michigan is less than ten minutes away. Downtown Milwaukee is 15 minutes away.
We had a very stressful journey moving from Seattle to Milwaukee. Home2 Suites at the Milwaukee Airport helped make this transition a bit less weary. It was the...
